Likert 3 and grade 2.14 in the knowledge on smoking prohibition guidance of dental hygienists; These results are statistically similar since the higher academic careers are based, the higher grades are obtained. 2. Likert 5 and grade 3.14 in the attitude on hygienists' smoking prohibition guidance activities. 3. High awareness on the importance of non-smoking in case there is no smoker among family. 4. Likert 5 and grade 3.16 in the practice of smoking prohibition guidance activities. 5. Similar relevance among the knowledge, attitude and practice; the higher knowledge, the more positive attitude and the more positive attitude, the more practice.

  • This study aims at searching for educational quality of abstract expression from the expression 'Yeok-goon-eun'[亦君恩/ also the king's mercy] which appears frequently in the classics. I clarified that the expression can be used to mean not only eulogy and missing the king, which is a conventional phrase, but also cynicism or excuse for oneself, curative response and so forth. In other words, the symbol, 'Yeok-goon-eun', has a variety of meanings according to readers and contexts. Like the example of the expression 'Yeok-goon-eun', the expressions of the classics in itself imply deep meanings to experience. They do not correspond to contemporary words which are familiar to current readers. Thus, the expressions of the classics have to be experienced by learners. In specific, 'Yeok-goon-eun' provides the present learners with special experience such as perception and attitude about the world, relationship between the nature and human beings, and cultural practices which attribute to the other. Such perspective of experience has been focussed on that the expressions in the classics have the world of understanding and recognition which is quite different from the present beyond the side of communication and delivery. It offers significant viewpoint in relation to value and quality of classic literature education.

  • Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs) represent quite a large proportion of the Information Technology (IT) industry as a whole in terms of the sales revenue and the number of employees. And their role has been constantly growing. However, they have suffered from the shortage and turnover of skilled IT personnel. Under the background, this study focuses on how to effectively retain IT personnel in SMEs. Job embeddedness is the newly emerging concept in the turnover research. It is known that job embeddedness predicts turnover better than the traditional attitude variables such as job satisfaction and it can be developed by human resource practices. So, this study empirically investigates the relationship among human resource practices, job embeddedness and turnover intention. The survey results of 193 IT personnel reveal that compensation, technical competency development, recognition and work-life balance practice have statistically significant effects on job embeddedness, and that job embeddedness has a negative influence on turnover intention of IT personnel. Based on these results, the implications for managing turnover issues in IT SMEs are suggested.

  • Background: In the years 2014, coverage rates of cervical cancer screening in Nakornnayok province accounted to 76.5%. This was lower than the government's specified goal of 80%. Community health volunteers are members of a Thai healthcare alliance established to help promoting healthcare service communication and collaboration at the primary level. Such village health volunteers (VHVs) are established in most villages. Objective: To assess the knowledge and attitudes of cervical cancer screening among VHVs. Materials and Methods: The subjects were 128 VHVs from four Nakornnayok sub-districts; namely KlongYai, Chomphol, Buangsan and Suksara, Thailand. The study was conducted from December 2014 to January 2015. The questionnaire was designed to assess the knowledge and attitude of cervical cancer screening provided by the VHVs. In addition, cervical cancer screening coverage rates of each area were collected. The demographic data, scores of knowledge, attitudes, practices and the cervical cancer screening coverage rates were analyzed by one-way ANOVA. Results: The questionnaire reliability was assessed as 0.81. The total knowledge and attitude scores were 10 and 15 points. The mean knowledge scores of KlongYai, Chomphol, Buangsan and Suksara were 6.8, 7.0, 6.5 and 9.0 points, respectively. The VHVs had a high level of overall knowledge about cervical cancer screening. The mean attitude scores were 12.4, 13.2, 13.4 and 13.1 points. VHVs had a positive attitude to the promotion of cervical cancer screening at the overall level. The percentages of VHVs promoting cervical cancer information in respective districts were 72.2, 94.3, 94.9 and 50.0. However, the cervical cancer screening coverage rates were 62.4%, 34.7%, 80.3% and 47.3% respectively. Conclusions: The knowledge, attitudes and percentages of promoting information of cervical cancer screening among VHVs in the four sub-districts were high but did not correlate with the cervical screening coverage rates for each area. VHVs needed to understand socio-cultural beliefs of the women in the target population and design suitable strategies to encourage higher cervical screening coverage.
