2007년 그림 및 액자제품 전시회(Deco-Expo Atlanta)가 지난 9월 7일부터 9일까지 3일간 미국 애틀란타(Atlanta)주의 조지아 월드 콩그레스 센터(Georgia World Congress Center)에서 세계 각국의 액자관련 업체(몰딩, 프레임제품, 자재 및 기기 등)및 관계자들 10,000여 명이 참가한 가운데 열렸다. 올해도 국내 업체들을 이끌고 전시회에 참석했던 한국프레임공업협동조합의 진영존 전무에게서 전시회 관련 이야기를 들어 본다.

In the United States, the implementation of the LEED green building rating system has dramatically changed the construction industry to motivate construction participants to employ green building approaches into projects. The objectives of green building rating systems are to achieve the triple bottom line benefits including economic, social and environmental benefits that are able to not only provide an excellent amenity to building users, but also to reduce environmental problems associated with buildings and accomplish financial benefits. Since the implementation of green building features has many benefits, the purpose of this study is to identify occupants' satisfaction of green building and the transformation of occupants'' attitude toward sustainability by conduct an in-depth case study of the cutting-edge green building project located in Atlanta, GA, USA. Based on this case study, it is possible to suggest construction participants in Korea to identify how green building can improve occupants'' satisfaction of the building and change their attitude toward sustainability.

본 논문은 미국 조지아 주 애틀랜타와 인근 지역(이하 메트로 애틀란타)의 한인인구와 한인업체의 지역별 분포 및 특징을 살펴봄으로써 새롭게 부상하고 있는 메트로 애틀랜타 한인사회의 전반적인 성장과정을 파악하고자 한다. 특히 메트로 애틀랜타에 입지한 한인업체의 시기별 성장과정과 주요 지역 및 업종별 입지 동향 분석을 통해 한인업체의 공간적 분포의 특성을 파악하고자 한다. 이를 위해 애틀랜타 한인 이민의 역사를 살펴보았으며, 메트로 애틀랜타 한인업체의 입지 동향과 주요 업종별 입지 동향을 지역별로 분석하였다. 그 결과 메트로 애틀랜타 한인업체의 주요 입지는 교통의 발달, 새로운 지역의 개발, 교육 여건, 인종별 주거 비중의 변화 등으로 인해 애틀랜타 북동쪽의 외곽으로 급속히 확산되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이와 함께 한인업체의 주요 업종은 미국의 제도, 한인 거주민의 이주, 시장 전략 등에 따라 소매업과 음식점 및 주점업에서 부동산업과 금융업으로 전환되었고, 소매업의 입지 비중이 상대적으로 감소되었다는 사실도 밝혀졌다.

In order to enhance shoot elongation and rooting of Anthurium andreanum 'Atlanta' in vitro, 15mL of liquid media containing various concentrations of activated charcoal, sucrose and MS salts were added in same vessels after small shoots were induced from the calli on mudium supplemented with 10.0mg/L BA and 0.1mg/L 2.4-D. The post-supplying of 15mL liquid medium containing MS macro and micro elements, 30g/L sucrose and 5.0∼10.0g/L activated charcoal was significantly stimulated the shoot elongation and rooting of regenerated shoots from calli. The medium addition was also resulted in the enhanced soil survival, elongation and rooting of plantlets in cultural soil mixed with perlite and vermiculite(1 : 1)

The formation of dioxin (term used here to refer to both polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins, PCDDS, and dibenzofurans, PCBFs) in combustion processes is of concern because of the extreme toxicities of some of these compounds and because of their resistance to degradation in the environment. The number and location of chlorine substituents differentiate dioxin homologues and isomers, respectively. There are a total of 75 PCDD congeners and 135 PCDF congeners.(omitted)

An investigation on the combined effect of foundation type, foundation flexibility, axial load and PR (semi-rigid) connections on the natural frequencies of steel frames is presented. These effects were investigated using a suitable modified FE program for cases where the foundation flexibility, foundation connectivity, and semi-rigid connections could be treated as equivalent linear springs. The effect of axial load on the natural frequency of a structure was found to be significant for slender structures subjected to high axial loads. In general, if columns of medium slenderness are designed without consideration of axial load effects, the frequency of the structure will be overestimated. Studies on the 3-story Los Angeles PR SAC frame indicate that the assumption of rigid connections at beam-column and column-base interfaces, as well as the assumption of a rigid foundation, can lead to significant errors if simplified design procedures are used. These errors in an equivalent static analysis are expected to lead to even more serious problems when considering the effect of higher modes under a non-linear dynamic analysis.
