This paper presents the validation of UNIST in-house Monte Carlo code MCS used for the high-fidelity simulation of commercial pressurized water reactors (PWRs). Its focus is on the accurate, spatially detailed neutronic analyses of startup physics tests for the initial core of the Watts Bar Nuclear 1 reactor, which is a vital step in evaluating core phenomena in an operating nuclear power reactor. The MCS solutions for the Consortium for Advanced Simulation of Light Water Reactors (CASL) Virtual Environment for Reactor Applications (VERA) core physics benchmark progression problems 1 to 5 were verified with KENO-VI and Serpent 2 solutions for geometries ranging from a single-pin cell to a full core. MCS was also validated by comparing with results of reactor zero-power physics tests in a full-core simulation. MCS exhibits an excellent consistency against the measured data with a bias of ±3 pcm at the initial criticality whole-core problem. Furthermore, MCS solutions for rod worth are consistent with measured data, and reasonable agreement is obtained for the isothermal temperature coefficient and soluble boron worth. This favorable comparison with measured parameters exhibited by MCS continues to broaden its validation basis. These results provide confidence in MCS's capability in high-fidelity calculations for practical PWR cores.
STREAM - a lattice transport calculation code with method of characteristics for the purpose of light water reactor analysis - has been developed by the Computational Reactor Physics and Experiment laboratory (CORE) of the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). Recently, efforts have been taken to develop a photon module in STREAM to assess photon heating and the influence of gamma photon transport on power distributions, as only neutron transport was considered in previous STREAM versions. A multi-group photon library is produced for STREAM based on the ENDF/B-VII.1 library with the use of the library-processing code NJOY. The developed photon solver for the computation of 2D and 3D distributions of photon flux and energy deposition is based on the method of characteristics like the neutron solver. The photon library and photon module produced and implemented for STREAM are verified on VERA pin and assembly problems by comparison with the Monte Carlo code MCS - also developed at UNIST. A short analysis of the impact of photon transport during depletion and thermal hydraulics feedback is presented for a 2D core also from the VERA benchmark.

In this paper, a commercial phosphorescent white light-emitting diode (WLED) visible light communication (VLC) system with an equalization circuit to achieve the high modulation bandwidth was designed and demonstrated. An analytical method to examine the performance of the equalizer was carried out using a general circuit-simulator, PSpice. The equalization circuit was composed of two passive filters with resisters and a capacitor and an active filter with an op-amp. Utilizing our post-equalization technology, the ~3.5 MHz bandwidth of phosphor WLED could be extended to ~25 MHz without using an optical blue-filter. In this VLC system with a single round-type WLED and a single PIN photo-diode, ASK data transmission up to 35 Mbps at a 1m free space distance was obtained. The resulting bit-error-rate was $7.6{\times}10^{-4}$, which is less than the forward error correction (FEC) limit of $3.8{\times}10^{-3}$.

In this paper, we propose a novel reconfigurable antenna that can change the electrical shape of the matching network using RF switches of PIN diodes. The designed antenna operates at two different modes that are Mode 1 (HSDPA band, 2.1~2.2 GHz) and Mode 2(WiBro WiFi band, 2.3~2.5 GHz). The antenna is built on both sides of a polyarcylate substrate. The measured reflection coefficient shows a matching bandwidth of 547 MHz($S_{11}$ <-3 dB, 2.035~2.582 GHz) for Mode 1 and 600 MHz($S_{11}$ <-3 dB, 2.2~2.8 GHz) for Mode 2, and it shows average vertical gains of -4.4 dBi and -4.5 dBi in x-y plane, respectively.

A design was done, and all characteristic of photodetectr of the web pattern type which a standard process of the Bipolar which Si PIN structure was used in this paper, and was used for the current amplifier design was used, and high-speed, was used as receiving optcal area of high altitude, and the module which had a low dark current characteristic was implemented with one chip with a base. Important area decreases an area of Ie at the time of this in order to consider an electrical characteristic and economy than the existing receiving IC, and performance of a product and confidence are got done in incense. First of all, the receiving IC which a spec, pattern of a wafer to he satisfied with the following electrical optical characteristic that produced receiving IC of 5V and structure are determined, and did one-chip is made. On the other hand, the time when AR layer of double is $Si_{3}N_{4}/SiO_{2}=1500/1800$ has an optical reflectivity of less than $10{\%}$ on an incidence optical wavelength of 660 ,and, in case of photo detector which reverse voltage made with 1.8V runs in 1.65V, an error about a change of thickness is very the thickness that can be improved surely. And, as for the optical current characteristic, about 5 times increases had the optical current with 274nA in 55nA when Pc was -27dBm. A BJT process is used, and receiving IC running electricity suitable for low voltage and an optical characteristic in minimum 1.8V with a base with two phases is made with one chip. IC of low voltage operates in 1.8V and 3.0V at the same time, and optical link receiving IC is going to be implemented

This paper described the characteristic of vibration in wind turbine system including gearbox housing, gear drive, blade, generator. Especially, in planetary gear set, planet gears are supported by flexible pin. So, in planet gear, to consider not only torsional movement but also lateral movement. And include housing movement, because wind turbine system is supported by mount. To find out the characteristic of vibration, take the excitation source and study campbell diagram in operating range. Results of campbell diagram, resonances are occurred at 81.2HZ, 104.7Hz by 2nd tooth passing frequency. And resonance are also occurred at 264.5HZ, 377Hz, 424.6Hz by 3th tooth passing frequency. From the result, take vibration reduced measures.

Black jujube was made by aging dried jujube and its physiochemical characteristics, antioxidant activities and ${\alpha}$-glucosidase inhibitory activities were evaluated. The moisture and sugar contents were increased depending on the period of aging times and the pH was reduced thereby increasing acidity. The color of black jujube extract was changed from red to black resulting in decreases of Hunter color values L, a and b. As the aging progressed, sucrose was decomposed by increasing glucose and fructose, indicating higher contents of the total reducing sugars. Among the six different types of organic acids extracted from dried jujube, the levels of oxalic acid and citric acid were increased as the aging progressed. The total polyphenol contents in ethanol and water extracts of dried jujube were 7.74 and 8.12 mg/g, respectively. The water extract of black jujube aged for 48 hr contained the highest polyphenol contents at 16.82 mg/g. The 5'-hydroxymethylfurfural (5'-HMF) contents of black jujube extract significantly increased by longer aging times, and contained higher contents in the ethanol extract than water extract. The ethanol extract of black jujube showed the highest 5'-HMF content with 338.89 mg% after aging for 3 days. Also, $IC_{50}$ values of black jujube aged for 72 hr evaluated by DPPH and ABTS radical assays were 0.54 and 0.59 mg/mL, respectively. ${\alpha}$-Glucosidase inhibitory activities of black jujube at the concentration of 3.33 mg/mL (ethanol extract) increased from 65 to 80 % after aging for 72 hr.
Hydraulic reciprocating seal has been widely used to prevent fluid leakage in hydraulic systems. Also, hydraulic reciprocating seal plays a significant role to provide lubricant film at contacting interface to minimize tribological problems due to sliding with counter material. To predict lifetime of hydraulic reciprocating seal, quantitative understanding of wear characteristics with respect to operating conditions such as normal force and sliding speed is needed. In this work, effect of sliding speed on wear of polyurethane (PU) hydraulic reciprocating seal were experimentally investigated using a pin-on-disk tribo-tester. The wear characteristics of PU specimens were quantitatively determined by comparing the confocal microscope data before and after test. It was found that the wear rate of PU specimens decreased from $4.9{\times}10^{-11}mm^3$ to $1.1{\times}10^{-11}mm^3/Nm$ as sliding speed increased from 120 mm/s to 940 mm/s. Also, it was observed that the friction decreased slightly as the sliding speed increased. Improvement of lubrication state with increasing sliding speed was likely to be responsible for this enhanced friction and wear characteristics. This result also suggests that decrease in sliding distance between PU elastomer and counter materials at lower sliding speed is preferred. Furthermore, the quantitative assessment of wear characteristics of PU specimen may be useful in prediction of lifetime of PU hydraulic reciprocating seal if the allowed degree of wear for failure of the seal is provided.

This paper presents an experimental study of friction and wear properties of a unidirectional oriented continuous crbon-fiber reinforced epoxy composite at the ambient temperature. Friction and wear experiments were conducted in the three principal sliding direction of the fiber orientation in the composite were selected against the stainless steel counterpart specularly processed were using a pin -on-disc apparatus. Friction coefficient and specific wear rate at various normal loads and sliding velocities wear determined. When sliding took place against smooth and hard counterpart, the hightest were resistance and the lowest friction coefficient were observed in the anti-parallel direction. The wear track of the worn specimens was examined with a scanning electron microscope(SEM) to observe the damaged fibers on the surface. In addition, SEM observations of the worn surfaces allowed to identify the involved different wear mechanisms.

Dental injuries with crown fracture occur frequently, especially in young patient Reattachment of the crown fragment has been shown to yield good esthetic results in that original tooth anatomy is restored with a material that abrades at a rate indntical to that of the adjacent tooth substance and at the same time permits continual monitoring of pulpal status through the fragment. Case 1 was complicated crown fracture with pin-point bleed ing, that was treated by direct pulp capping with calcium hydroxide and fragment reattachment. Case 2 was in trusive luxation with complicated crown fracture and was treated by pulp treatment and fragment reattachment. Case 3 was uncomplicated crown fracture, and fracture line involved slightly biologic width and treated by reattachment of the crown fragment.
