A Design of Microwave Measurement Board for Multi-channel Coaxial Cable Assembly (다중 채널 동축 케이블의 초고주파 측정용 보드 설계)

  • In High-Speed DSP systems, crosstalk between transmission lines of multi-channel can degrade the performance of equipment operations. This paper presents a microwave board to measure multi-channel coaxial cable assembly. The designed board has good performances from DC to 3 GHz, which have improved characteristic impedance, reduced crosstalk by using via fence, and low transmission loss. Using the designed board, we can measure characteristics of DUT(Device Under Test) such as return loss, insertion loss, crosstalk phase delay, and characteristic impedance. The measured results are used to improve performances of a produced coaxial cable assembly.

Retrieval of Assembly Model Data Using Parallel Web Services (병렬 웹 서비스를 이용한 조립체 모델 데이터의 획득)

  • Web Services for CAD (WSC) aims at interoperation with CAD systems based on Web Services. This paper introduces one part of WSC which enables remote users to retrieve assembly model data using Web Services. However, retrieving assembly model data takes long time. To resolve this problem, this paper proposes using parallel Web Services. As assembly models comprise a set of part models, it is easy to separate the problem domain into smaller problems. In addition, Web Services inherently supports distributed computing. This characteristic makes the parallel processing of Web Services easy. Firstly, the implementation of WSC which retrieves assembly model data based parallel Web Services is shown. And then, for the comparison, the experiments on the retrieval of assembly model data based on single Web Services and parallel Web Services are shown.

  • In the current lighting market, LEDs that have a high luminous efficiency, a long life and consume less power have emerged as next generation lighting. Owing to various designs and sizes of LEDs, the production process of existing LEDs involves many tasks that require manual labor; hence, the assembly of LEDs necessitates manpower. Because of the use of manpower, the production costs of LEDs increases and production efficiency decreases. Recently, the assembly parts of LEDs have been standardized for minimizing manual labor, and an LED is developed as an LED panel. The automatic assembly system produces LED convergent lighting by assembling two LED panels and one diffusion cover. To increase the production efficiency of the LED convergent lighting module, it is important that the development of a feeder can continuously supply the LED panels is required, and whose design has sufficient stability. The automatic assembly system of the LED convergent lighting module consists of two feeders, which convey LED panels and diffusion covers to a main conveyor, which assembles the lifted panels and covers. In this study, structural analysis and fatigue life for forced loads on the conveyer line of the feeder in the process of lifting LED panels and diffusion covers of each feeder, is analyzed. In addition, the drive of the belt constituting the conveyor line of each feeder is simulated, and the dynamic characteristics of the belt is analyzed using the virtual engineering method.

Verification and Sensitivity Analysis on the Elastic Stiffness of the Leaf Type Holddown Spring Assembly

  • The elastic stiffness formula of leaf type holddown spring(HDS) assembly is verified by comparing the values of elastic stiffness with the characteristic test results of the HDS's specimens. The comparisons show that the derived elastic stiffness formula is useful in reliably estimating the elastic stiffness of leaf type HDS assembly. The elastic stiffness sensitivity of leaf type HDS assembly is analyzed using the formula and its gradient vectors obtained from the mid-point formula. As a result of sensitivity analysis, the elastic stiffness sensitivity with respect to each design variable is quantified and design variables of large sensitivity are identified. Among the design variables, leaf thickness is identified as the most sensitive design variable to the elastic stiffness of leaf type HDS assembly. In addition, the elastic stiffness sensitivity, with respect to design variable, is in power-law type correlation to the base thickness of the leaf.

Study on Electrical Characteristic of Self-assembled Nitro Molecule Onto Au(111) Substrate by Using STM/STS (STM/STS에 의한 Au(111) 표면에 자기조립된 니트로분자의 전기적 특성 측정)

  • The characteristic of negative differential resistance(NDR) is decreased current when the applied voltage is increased. The NDR is potentially very useful in molecular electronics device schemes. Here, we investigated the NDR characteristic of self-assembled 4,4'-di(ethynylphenyl)-2'-nitro-1-benzenethiolate, which has been well known as a conducting molecule. Self-assembly monolayers(SAMs) were prepared on Au(111), which had been thermally deposited onto $pre-treatment(H_2SO_4:H_2O_2=3:1)$ Si. The Au substrate was exposed to a 1 mM/1 solution of 1-dodecanethiol in ethanol for 24 hours to form a monolayer. After thorough rinsing the sample, it was exposed to a 0.1 ${\mu}M/l$ solution of 4.4'-di(ethynylphenyl)-2'-nitro-1-(thioacetyl)benzene in dimethylformamide(DMF) for 30 min and kept in the dark during immersion to avoid photo-oxidation. After the assembly, the samples were removed from the solutions, rinsed thoroughly with methanol, acetone, and $CH_2Cl_2,$ and finally blown dry with N_2. Under these conditions, we measured electrical properties of self-assembly monolayers(SAMs) using ultra high vacuum scanning tunneling microscopy(UHV-STM). The applied voltages were from -2 V to +2 V with 298 K temperature. The vacuum condition was $6{\time}10^{-8}$ Torr. As a result, we found the NDR voltage of the 4,4'-di(ethynylphenyl)-2'-nitro-1-benzenethiolate were $-1.61{\pm}0.26$ V(negative region) and $1.84{\pm}0.33$ V(positive region). respectively.

A Study on the Vibration Transmission Property of Automotive Air Conditioning Assembly by Frequency Response Analysis (주파수 응답해석을 이용한 자동차용 에어컨 라인 어셈블리의 진동전달 특성에 관한 연구)

  • An automotive air conditioning assembly consists of a condenser, a compressor and an evaporator. These major components are connected with rubber hoses and aluminum pipes. Once mounted on the automotive air conditioning assembly, it is exposed to a serious vibration environment for a long time. In some cases, there are vibration cracking on the assembly. In order to solve this vibration problem, several real vibration tests are performed on the assembly of which the lay-out was optimized, in spite of sample production cost and making time. In this study, a frequency response analysis, which is a kind of finite element method of the vibration, was performed to know the characteristic of the vibration transmission on the assembly lay-out. The analysis result indicated the damping performance, which is satisfied with the vibration standard of car maker, in rubber hoses and the whole assembly.

  • A layout of regenerative liquid rocket engine using turbo pump has been designed for development of high performance liquid rocket engine. each components of engine system was placed by considering assembly and characteristic. first stage engine system is controled by one plane of axis gimballing and composed of four engine assembly to cluster with launch vehicle. second stage engine system is controled by two plane of axis gimballing and composed of one engine assembly. assembly and disassembly Processes and required program have been developed. various shape of instruments were also developed for carrying out assembly and disassembly process efficiently.

  • A multi-layer of the dye, natural colorant Berberine, was successfully developed by the self-assembly deposition from water-soluble cationic dye(Berberine chloride) and anionic polyelectrolyte PSS(Polysodium 4-styrenesulfonate) in aqueous solution via electrostatic attraction. The corresponding results on multi-layer were characterized by UV-Vis absorbance measurements. The growth of multi-layer formed by the sequential interaction was also determined. The findings measured by UV-Vis spectrophotometer showed that the bilayer deposition characteristic was linear and highly reproducible from layer to layer.
