광통신용 글라스렌즈 성형 금형의 이형성 코팅에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Anti-Stiction Coating of Glass Lens Mold for Optical Communication)

  • The Diamond-Like-Carbon (DLC) coating is a new carbon-based amorphous material. Carbon ions in the plasma are electrically accelerated and collide with the substrate to form a thin film. This film has similar properties to diamonds such as high surface hardness, low coefficient of friction, corrosion resistance and durability that do not react with acids and bases. Also, since there is no thermal deformation, it can be printed at room temperature. and coated on almost all materials such as paper, polymer, ceramics and various metals even aspheric lens it is possible to mirror surface coating with excellent surface roughness. In this paper, we have analyzed the DLC film formed by Filtered Arc Ion Plating (Filtered AIP) process.

비접촉 변위센서를 이용한 초소형렌즈 정밀금형 형상측정 (Precision Surface Profiling of Lens Molds using a Non-contact Displacement Sensor)

  • In this study, we proposed a method for surface profiling aspheric lens molds using a precision displacement sensor with a spatial scanning mechanism. The precision displacement sensor is based on the confocal principle using a broadband light source, providing a 10 nm resolution over a 0.3 mm measurable range. The precision of the sensor, depending on surface slope, was evaluated via Allan deviation analysis. We then developed an automatic surface profiling system by measuring the cross-sectional profile of a lens mold. The precision of the sensor at the flat surface was 10 nm at 10 ms averaging time, while 200 ms averaging time was needed for identical precision at the steepest slope at 25 deg. When we compared the measurement result of the lens mold to a commercial surface profiler, we found that the accuracy of the developed system was less than 90 nm (in terms of 3 sigmas of error) between the two results.

볼 엔드밀의 헬릭스 각도에 따른 STD 11 소재의 표면 거칠기에 관한 연구 (A study on the surface roughness of STD 11 material according to the helix angle of ball endmill)

  • The ball end mill is a type of cutting tool that is widely used to process complex mold shapes including aspheric surfaces. Unlike the flat end mill in which the cutting edge is formed on the cylindrical handle, the cutting edge is formed from the cylindrical handle to the hemispherical shape, which is advantageous for processing curved shapes. However, since the cutting speed continuously changes during machining due to the helix angle of the cutting edge or the machining inclination angle, it is difficult to obtain a precise machined surface. Therefore, in this paper, machining was performed while changing the helix angle of the ball end mill and the angle of the machining slope under the same cutting conditions for STD 11 material, which is widely used as a mold material. Through this, the effect of the two variables on the roughness of the machined surface was analyzed. As a result, if the helix angle was 0 degrees, it showed the best surface roughness of Ra. 0.16 ㎛. When the helix angle was 20 degrees, the best surface roughness of Ra. 0.18 ㎛ was occurred.

Improved kinematic mount design for bar type reference mirror for profilometric measurement large optical surface

  • Our previous study used a bar-type reference mirror to measure the relative distance to the target surface. The target measurement accuracy was required to $1{\mu}m$ PV for aspheric optical surface up to 1m in diameter. Earlier system suffers from the reference surface deformation when the measuring part moves. In order to reduce the deformation, measuring part and the reference part separated from each order in the new design. This system utilizes a kinematic support assembly using invar flexure to minimize the reference surface deformation under gravity and vibration. The surface deformation requirement of reference mirror is defined as of $0.2{\mu}m$ under gravity and 40Hz vibration. The finite element results, shows reference mirror deformation of $0.164{\mu}m$. The first resonance mode was computed to analysis 46.05Hz for reference part and 43.44Hz for measuring part. Thesis satisfies the frequency requirement.

  • Recently, the magnetorheological (MR) polishing process has been examined as a new ultra-precision polishing technology for mirror surface generation in many applications, such as aspheric lenses, biochips, micro parts, etc. This method uses MR fluids which contains micro abrasives as a polishing media, and can. It is possible to obtain nano level surface roughness under suitable process conditions, however, required polishing time is highly dependent on the applied pre-polishing methods due to its very small material removal rate. Thus, in this study, a combined polishing method is presented to reduce total polishing time for SUS304. First, the electropolishing (EP) method was applied to obtain fine surface roughness, and the MR polishing was followed. Surface roughness variations were investigated according to the process conditions. As the results of this study, it was possible to reduce total polishing time for SUS304 using the proposed combined polishing method.

  • The aspherical lenses are used as objective lens of optical pickup. To examine the design factor the sample product is made before manufacturing of injection mould of lens. The optimum cutting condition of PMMA lens sample with ultra precision SPDT, the roam spindle speed, the depth of cut, the feedrate are found. The demanded surface roughness 100m Ra, aspherical form error $0.5{\mu}m$ P-V for aspherical lens of optical data storage device are satisfied.

  • The aspherical lens are used as objective lens of optical pickup. The sample product is made before manufacturing the injection mould of lens to examine the design factor. The optimum cutting conditions of the main spindle speed, the depth of cut, the feed rate are found when we cut PMMA and PC lens sample with ultra-precision SPDT. The demanded surface roughness 10 nm Ra. aspherical form error 0.5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ P-V for aspherical lens of optical data storage device are satisfied for PMMA. but not satisfied for PC.

  • 영상매체의 발달은 고성능의 정밀한 광학소자의 발전을 요구하게 된다. 이러한 광학소자는 제작의 용이함 때문에 주로 구면소자가 많이 사용되어 왔으나 구면소자만으로 해결하기 어려운 구면수차, 왜곡수차, 비점수차 등의 요인을 극소화하고 광학소자의 소형, 경량화를 위하여 비구면 광학소자의 사용이 필요하게 되었으며 비구면 가공기술의 발전과 더불어 그 사용이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 비구면광학소자는 제작과정의 어려움과 더불어 품질평가의 어려움이 있다. 특히 급속한 기울기를 가진 면의 측정은 3차원측정기에 의한 방법이나 간섭계를 사용한 단순한 null optics 검사로는 정확도와 실험의 한계가 있다. 비구면 광학소자의 평가방법으로는 간섭계를 사용하여 기준파면과 대상파면을 비교하는 일반적인 null testing과 최근에는 CGH(computer generated hologram)로 재생된 비구면파면과 대상파면을 비교하는 방법도 많이 연구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 일반적인 검사방법으로는 검사가 어려운 급속한 기울기를 가진 포물면(parabolic surface)에 대한 하나의 검사방법을 제시하고자 한다.   • Abstract Head-mounted displays(HMD) are being developed and marketed in growing numbers for a variety of applications. Though most commonly associated with entertainment applications other applications are also being developed. The field vision on the display screens is expanded by the optical system producing an imaginary screen that appears to be positioned several meters in front of the viewer. In this study, the mold core for the prism lens of HMD was processed by fly-cutting method, and the form accuracy of the mold core was measured.
