  • This study collects social data and academic research data from portal sites and RISS, and analyzes TF-IDF, N-Gram, semantic network analysis, and CONCOR analysis to analyze the social awareness and current aspects of 'AI Literacy' and 'AI Convergence Education'. Through this, we tried to understand the social awareness aspect and the current situation, and to suggest implications and directions. In the social data, the collection of 'AI Convergence Education' was more than twice that of 'AI Literacy', indicating that awareness of 'AI Literacy' was relatively low. In 'AI Literacy', the keyword 'human' in social data showed no cluster to which it belonged, indicating a lack of philosophical interest in and awareness of humanities and AI. In addition, the keyword 'Ministry of Education' showed high frequency, importance, and centrality of connection only in the social data of 'AI convergence education', confirming that 'AI convergence education' is closely related to government policy.

  • The VTS concept was located as a principal methods of maritime safety administration in world's major harbors and expected to become the pivotal role for the future of the maritime and harbor society with e-Navigation epoch. If recent limelight concept of big-data has been included in aspect of information gathering and analysis with various studies, it's required advanced studies to improve the information analysis capability and application range of the data that can be mining by the VTS. In this study, contrast to other studies that aimed quantitative analysis as communication number, it can be mining the time information and each of the communication VTS for the target vessel, including qualitative analysis, such as the purpose or the type of communication. This comparison across multiple items of the collected information, and presenting the VTS data mining model (VCDF) that can be analyzed for the purpose of analyzing way, type and number of communication by ship's type, also number of violations through VTS communication. First, In Busan port case, it shows frequently information service and shows frequently communicating with particular types of vessels. Second, Passive VTS carried out notwithstanding many kinds of traffic violations due to communication congestion. This arranged information can be used as data for the analysis, as possible the level of traffic for VTSO situational awareness, which pointed to the 'workloads' in 'IALA Guideline' and could be used as a database for future research of e-Navigation.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the attributes influencing the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and develop the prediction model for metabolic syndrome over 40-aged people from Korea Health and Nutrition Examination Study 2012. The researcher chose the attributes for prediction model through literature review. Also, we used the decision tree, logistic regression, artificial neural network of data mining algorithm through Weka 3.6. As results, social economic status factors of input attributes were ranked higher than health-related factors. Additionally, prediction model using decision tree algorithm showed finally the highest accuracy. This study suggests that, first of all, prevention and management of metabolic syndrome will be approached by aspect of social economic status and health-related factors. Also, decision tree algorithms known from other research are useful in the field of public health due to their usefulness of interpretation.

  • Obviating user churn is a prominent strategy to capitalize on online games, eluding the initial investments required for the development of another. Extant literature has examined factors that may induce user churn, mainly from perspectives of motives to play and game as a virtual society. However, such works largely dismiss the service aspects of online games. Dissatisfaction of user needs constitutes a crucial aspect for user churn, especially with online services where users expect a continuous improvement in service quality via software updates. Hence, we examine the relationship between a game's quality management and its user base. With text mining and survival analysis, we identify complaint factors that act as key predictors of user churn. Additionally, we find that enjoyment-related factors are greater threats to user base than usability-related ones. Furthermore, subsequent quasi-experiment shows that improvements in the complaint factors (i.e., via game patches) curb churn and foster user retention. Our results shed light on the responsive role of developers in retaining the user base of online games. Moreover, we provide practical insights for game operators, i.e., to identify and prioritize more perilous complaint factors in planning successive game patches.

  • This research aims to examine (1) the effect of carbon emission disclosure on firm value, (2) the effect of good corporate governance on firm value, (3) the mediating role of financial performance between carbon emission disclosure and firm value, and (4) the mediating role of financial performance between good corporate governance and firm value. The research sample includes 43 mining, agro, and manufacturing firms listed in the Indonesian Stock Exchange over the 2015-2017 period. Carbon emission disclosure is measured by an indicator of the Global Reporting Initiative Series of Environmental Aspect. Good corporate governance is measured by the corporate governance score of shareholder rights, boards of directors, outside directors, audit committee and internal auditor, and disclosure to investors. Financial performance is measured by return on assets, while firm value is measured by Tobin's Q. Data analysis uses the structural equation modeling. The result shows carbon emission disclosure and good corporate governance have no direct effect on firm value. On the other hand, financial performance mediates the effect of carbon emission disclosure and good corporate governance on firm value. It shows that higher carbon emission disclosure and good corporate governance are meaningless for the investor if they do not give any financial performance improvement.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop landslide susceptibility analysis techniques using artificial neural network and to apply the newly developed techniques to the study area of Boun in Korea. Landslide locations were identified in the study area from interpretation of aerial photographs, field survey data, and a spatial database of the topography, soil type, timber cover, geology and land use. The landslide-related factors (slope, aspect, curvature, topographic type, soil texture, soil material, soil drainage, soil effective thickness, timber type, timber age, and timber diameter, timber density, geology and land use) were extracted from the spatial database. Using those factors, landslide susceptibility was analyzed by artificial neural network methods. For this, the weights of each factor were determinated in 3 cases by the backpropagation method, which is a type of artificial neural network method. Then the landslide susceptibility indexes were calculated and the susceptibility maps were made with a GIS program. The results of the landslide susceptibility maps were verified and compared using landslide location data. A GIS was used to efficiently analyze the vast amount of data, and an artificial neural network was turned out be an effective tool to maintain precision and accuracy.

  • In recent days, the cases of using wetlands in treating waste water, storm events, mining leachate, and agriculture effluents are increasing. But there is the lack of the data for wetlands because of the difficulty in long term monitoring. Such an aspect makes the proper use of wetland impractical. In this study for the purpose of generating a long term hydrologic data, the time series of storage amount for Upo, Mokpo, Sajipo, and Jjokjibeol in Topyeong watershed is simulated using SWAT model. Based on the SWAT-Topyeong model involved in several scenarios for constructing new washlands in Topyeong watershed, the temporal behavior of new washlands is analyzed. It is also revealed that the constructed washland can affect the Upo in some degrees.

  • Unsupervised methods for image segmentation are recently drawing attention because most images do not have labels or tags. A topic model is such an unsupervised probabilistic method that captures latent aspects of data, where each latent aspect, or a topic, is associated with one homogeneous region. The results of topic models, however, usually have noises, which decreases the overall segmentation performance. In this paper, to improve the performance of image segmentation using topic models, we propose two topic masks applicable to topic assignments of homogeneous regions obtained from topic models. The topic masks capture the noises among the assigned topic assignments or topic labels, and remove the noises by replacements, just like image masks for pixels. However, as the nature of topic assignments is different from image pixels, the topic masks have properties that are different from the existing image masks for pixels. There are two contributions of this paper. First, the topic masks can be used to reduce the noises of topic assignments obtained from topic models for image segmentation tasks. Second, we test the effectiveness of the topic masks by applying them to segmented images obtained from the Latent Dirichlet Allocation model and the Spatial Latent Dirichlet Allocation model upon the MSRC image dataset. The empirical results show that one of the masks successfully reduces the topic noises.

  • The purpose of the study is to examine the current study trend of 'QR code' and suggest a direction for the future study of big data analysis: (1) Background: study trend of 'QR code' and analysis of the text by subject field and year; (2) Methodology: data scraping and collection, EXCEL summary, and preprocess and big data analysis by R x 64 4.0.2 program package; (3) the findings: first, the trend showed a continuous increase in 'QR code' studies in general and the findings were applied in various fields. Second, the analysis of frequent keywords showed somewhat different results by subject field and year, but the overall results were similar. Third, the visualization of the frequent keywords also showed similar results as that of frequent keyword analysis; and (4) the conclusions: in general, 'QR code' studies are used in various fields, and the trend is likely to increase in the future as well. And the findings of this study are a reflection that 'QR code' is an aspect of our social and cultural phenomena, so that it is necessary to think that 'QR code' is a tool and an application of information. An expansion of the scope of the analysis is expected to show us more meaningful indications on 'QR code' study trends and development potential.
