The populations of Asian countries are expected to age rapidly in the near future, with a dramatic increase in the number of heart failure (HF) patients also anticipated. The need for palliative and end-of-life care for elderly patients with advanced HF is currently recognized in aging societies. However, palliative care and active treatment for HF are not mutually exclusive, and palliative care should be provided to reduce suffering occurring at any stage of symptomatic HF after the point of diagnosis. HF patients are at high risk of sudden cardiac death from the early stages of the disease onwards. The decision of whether to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the event of an emergency is challenging, especially in elderly HF patients, because of the difficulty in accurately predicting the prognosis of the condition. Furthermore, advanced HF patients are often fitted with a device, and device deactivation at the end of life is a complicated process. Treatment strategies should thus be discussed by multi-disciplinary teams, including palliative experts, and should consider patient directives to address the problems discussed above. Open communication with the HF patient regarding the expected prognosis, course, and treatment options will serve to support the patient and aid in future planning.

This paper discusses the relationship between debt literacy, peer-to-peer lending, and over-indebtedness in Indonesia. It is essential because the number of loans on this platform continues to increase, both legal and illegal. Data was collected online in collaboration with commercial market research firms, JajakPendapat.net. Debt literacy and over-indebtedness were measured by self-assessment with questions from Lusardi and Tufano (2009a). Questions for debt literacy are about interest compounding, debt interest, and the application of time value of money in payment options. The question for over-indebtedness is about the amount of debt and the conditions resulting from that debt. By using descriptive methods, it is clear that the majority of respondents, both borrowers and non-peer-to-peer lending borrowers are debt illiterate, and those who have poor debt literacy have huge debt. Overall, only 1.85% of the respondents were debt literate. Those who live on the island of Java have better literacy because they are the center of economic growth in Indonesia. Debt from peer-to-peer (P2P) lending also has the potential to create problems, namely over-indebtedness. P2P lending borrowers also have very poor debt literacy. However, there is no difference in debt literacy between P2P lending borrowers and non-P2P lending borrowers.

Educational institutions play a critical role in national development through the advancement of skilled human resources and intellectual society. The number of higher educational institutions (HEIs) is increasing significantly in Bangladesh. Students have a number of options from which to select their preferred educational institutions. Hence, HEIs should think about the quality of services they provide to students. The objective of this study is to measure students' satisfaction and university reputation through service quality (SQ) in a private higher educational institution (PriHEI) in Bangladesh. Primary data was collected from 270 students of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), Bangladesh, through a simple random sampling technique. In this study, data was analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation, measurement model using confirmatory factor analyses, and structural equation modeling (SEM). The results showed that transport services have indirect but medical and physical facilities have both direct and indirect significant effects on overall students' satisfaction. Further, the administrative services and research facilities have significant indirect effects on overall students' satisfaction. Finally, the results of structural equation modeling (SEM) confirm that the reputation of the university is directly associated with overall students' satisfaction.

This study investigated the effect of the Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) microfinancing on the economic, social, and household empowerment of women borrowers in Malaysia. The study used a quantitative approach based on primary data. For this study, the participants comprised 384 AIM borrowers from Terengganu, Kelantan, and Pahang in the east coast region of Malaysia. Purposive stratified random sampling was used as well as the Krejcie and Morgan method to count the number of samples. Descriptive statistics and the Women Empowerment Index (WEI) were used in the analysis. The study findings reveal that AIM microfinancing affects the economic, social, and household empowerment of women borrowers in Malaysia. However, in comparing the three categories, women enjoyed more freedom in social and household decision-making than in economic decision-making. The present study recommends policies for the successful and effective operation of microfinance programs by providing the necessary guidelines for the control of AIM loan for women borrowers; increasing income-generating activities, sufficient access of credit, and proper education for the borrowers; and giving economic freedom of choice with necessary skill training policymaking options for the government and NGOs with the aim to improve the total household income and empowerment of the microcredit borrowers in Malaysia.
Purpose - In today's era of carbon neutrality, railways need to find ways to improve usability and efficiency. Accordingly, this study examines the effect of introducing express highspeed railways into the Korean public transportation system and suggests some practical guidelines. One concern in the Korea railway sector is that low scheduled speeds contrast with the highspeed railway system design. Research design, data, and methodology - Current literature and foreign cases are analyzed. Subsequently, using data from the Korean Railroad Research Institute, a benefit analysis is conducted based on expanded track capacity and the saving of time owing to the introduction of the express highspeed railway. Result - The express highspeed railway system is expected to increase the number of train lines from 262 to 348 and the scheduled speed from 168.3km/h to 192.2km/h. Considering reduced time value, the economic effect is about 80 million won per year. Conclusion - The findings suggest that the express highspeed railway is a promising option to improve efficiency and increase customer utility. This study contributes to the literature by initiating a discussion on the express system in Korea; practically, it offers railway operators guidelines for improving highspeed railway system efficiency that can be transformed into a variety of marketing options.

Information has an essential role in decision-making for investors who will invest in financial markets, especially regarding the policies on the condition of COVID-19. The purpose of this study is to determine the market reaction to the information published by the government regarding the policy changes to the provisions of Trading Halt on the IDX in an emergency using the event study method. The population in this study was companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in March 2020; the sample selection technique was purposive sampling. Data analysis used a normality test and one sample T-test. The results of the study found that there were significant abnormal returns on the announcement date, negative abnormal returns around the announcement date, and significant trading volume activity occurring three days after the announcement. The existence of a significant positive abnormal return on the announcement date indicates that the market responds quickly to information published by the government. The practical implication of this research can be taken into consideration for investors in making investment decisions to analyze and determine the right investment options so that investors can minimize the risk of their investment and maximize the profits they want to achieve.
Purpose - The prior literature indicated that green consumerism encouragements and programs have led to strict standards against environmental issues, thus reducing emissions from motors and engines and improving clean-burning energy options. The present study seeks to elaborate on the responsibility of ecological education in amplifying potential green consumers. Research design, Data, and methodology -The justification of the qualitative literature method used in this research is essential because, through the extensive explanation, justification and description of the methods used, researchers can enhance the trustworthiness of the research to a particular or designated audience. Result - Environmental education helps customers worldwide recognize the barriers to purchasing green products at every purchase level. Prior studies pointed out that after environmental education, consumers are much more willing to go greener in their consumption and safeguard the environment. Customers want to act green; however, they anticipate companies to lead the way. Conclusion - This research suggests that reusing prevailing resources creatively implies that fewer dollars are spent buying novel stock to generate green products. Although establishing a green company is expensive, it saves a lot of cash over time. Greening procedures can lead to efficiency gains by minimizing energy costs, permitting companies to acquire green tax credits.
Purpose: Motivated by the fact that Malaysians fish consumption patterns and preferences have raised sustainability concerns, this study aims to understand the key entry points to promote sustainable consumption and increased uptake of sustainably sourced fish among Malaysian consumers. This is achieved by exploring the individual determinants of Malaysian consumers' fish purchasing behaviors and their subjective and objective knowledge of fish. Research design, data, and methodology: A survey was conducted using interviewled questionnaire on 250 consumers in selected Malaysian populations recruited via street-intercept random sampling. Results: Findings confirmed the homogeneous societal culture of fish consumption amongst Malaysians. Females and consumers with advanced degree are found to be potentially effective primary targets of sustainable consumption interventions. Future interventions should consider the solutions to the low health and sustainability literacies among Malaysian consumers, and limited availability, accessibility, and affordability of sustainable options in Malaysia. Conclusion: The study findings provide new insights for the multisectoral stakeholders in the region working on promoting sustainable fish consumption and sustainable fisheries in general.
Medicinal cooked rice with Astragalus membranaceus extract and garlic was developed as a ready-to-eat product. The response surface methodology was used to examine the effect of garlic and Astragalus membranaceus extract addition on the color, texture, and sensory properties to optimize the product. The product was also analyzed for microbiological, sensory, and physical property changes during storage. As for the color, taste, and overall acceptability, the sensory scores increased with the increase of Astragalus membranaceus extracts (p<0.05). The sensory scores for the product ranged between 9.17~9.92 and foodborne microorganism such as Bacillus cereus, Salmonella, Staphylococcu aureus, and Eschericha coli were not detected after 13 storage days. Therefore, the possible shelf life was evaluated for up to13 days of storage. When considering health and convenience are important factors in the development of new food products, the medicinal and biological effects of garlic and Astragalus membranaceus could be useful for providing healthy diet options for senior consumers. The results of sensory and microbiological tests showed the potential for the commercialization of ready-to-eat cook-chill product as an alternative of cooked rice for Asian populations and Korean senior consumer market.
The abatement of methane emission from ruminants is an important global issue due to its contribution to greenhouse gas with carbon dioxide. Methane is generated in the rumen by methanogens (archaea) that utilize metabolic hydrogen ($H_2$) to reduce carbon dioxide, and is a significant electron sink in the rumen ecosystem. Therefore, the competition for hydrogen used for methanogenesis with alternative reductions of rumen microbes should be an effective option to reduce rumen methanogenesis. Some methanogens parasitically survive on the surface of ciliate protozoa, so that defaunation or decrease in protozoa number might contribute to abate methanogenesis. The most important issue for mitigation of rumen methanogenesis with manipulators is to secure safety for animals and their products and the environment. In this respect, prophylactic effects of probiotics, prebiotics and miscellaneous compounds to mitigate rumen methanogenesis have been developed instead of antibiotics, ionophores such as monensin, and lasalocid in Japan. Nitrate suppresses rumen methanogenesis by its reducing reaction in the rumen. However, excess intake of nitrate causes intoxication due to nitrite accumulation, which induces methemoglobinemia. The nitrite accumulation is attributed to a relatively higher rate of nitrate reduction to nitrite than nitrite to ammonia via nitroxyl and hydroxylamine. The in vitro and in vivo trials have been conducted to clarify the prophylactic effects of L-cysteine, some strains of lactic acid bacteria and yeast and/or ${\beta}$1-4 galactooligosaccharide on nitrate-nitrite intoxication and methanogenesis. The administration of nitrate with ${\beta}$1-4 galacto-oligosaccharide, Candida kefyr, and Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis were suggested to possibly control rumen methanogenesis and prevent nitrite formation in the rumen. For prebiotics, nisin which is a bacteriocin produced by Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis has been demonstrated to abate rumen methanogenesis in the same manner as monensin. A protein resistant anti-microbe (PRA) has been isolated from Lactobacillus plantarum as a manipulator to mitigate rumen methanogenesis. Recently, hydrogen peroxide was identified as a part of the manipulating effect of PRA on rumen methanogenesis. The suppressing effects of secondary metabolites from plants such as saponin and tannin on rumen methanogenesis have been examined. Especially, yucca schidigera extract, sarsaponin (steroidal glycosides), can suppress rumen methanogenesis thereby improving protein utilization efficiency. The cashew nutshell liquid (CNSL), or cashew shell oil, which is a natural resin found in the honeycomb structure of the cashew nutshell has been found to mitigate rumen methanogenesis. In an attempt to seek manipulators in the section on methane belching from ruminants, the arrangement of an inventory of mitigation technologies available for the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Joint Implementation (JI) in the Kyoto mechanism has been advancing to target ruminant livestock in Asian and Pacific regions.
