동북아 항공물류허브을 구축하기 위한 다자적 접근방안 (Multilateral Approach to forming Air Logistics Hub on North East Asia Region)

  • 동북아 항공운송시장에서는 중국시장의 개방으로 항공운송시장이 전에 없는 급팽창을 하고 있으며, 전 세계 항공운송시장에서 아시아-태평양의 비중이 커지고 있다. 향후 점차적으로 확대될 이 지역의 인적, 물적, 서비스 그리고 정보의 교류를 위해서는 동북아 역내에서 보다 자유로운 항공편의 연결이 필요하다. 이런 측면에서 이 글에서는 지역 내 항공운송시장 통합을 위한 동북아 항공운송시장에 적용 가능한 대안을 제시하였다. 첫째, 각 국의 국내 항공운송시장에 대한 정책 변화가 필요하고, 둘째, 각 국 국내시장의 자유화 정책의 확대, 셋째, 동북아 지역 내의 양자협정의 보다 자유로운 항공협정의 체결이 필요 넷째, 동북아 항공시장에 참여하고 있는 각 국 항공사 간 전략적제휴의 확대, 다섯째, 경쟁력 있는 공항 및 노선 또는 저수요 노선부터 단계적으로 자유화 실시, 여섯째, 동북아 3 국의 주요 공항 간 셔틀 운영 필요, 일곱째, 동북아 삼국간 국제표준의 항공안전 및 보안체계의 공동 구축, 여덟째, 항공 외의 분야에서 우선적 자유화 추진, 마지막으로 아시아-태평양 지역 민간항공기구의 설립과 한, 중, 일간의 협의기구를 설립하여 각 국이 정기적으로 항공운송시장의 통합과 자유화에 대한 의견 개진을 통한 점진적인 자유화를 유도해야 할 것이다. 동북아에서 항공자유화를 위한 단기적 차원의 진전은 어려울 것이다. 그러나 중국 항공사의 계속적인 성장과 일본계 항공사들의 저비용 구조화에 대한 진전이 이루어질 경우 의외로 조속한 항공운송시장의 통합이 이루어질 수 도 있다. 항공운송시장은 과거 25년간 대변혁의 과정을 겪었다. 대 변혁의 과정 중에 가장 크게 영향을 미친것은 자유화였으며, 그 결과로 요금은 인하되고, 항공수요는 증가하였다. 이로써 침체되어있던 항공운송산업은 새로운 성장 산업으로 등장하게 되었다. 자유화 정책의 확대 추진을 통해서 만이 지역 내 교류를 활성화 할 수 있으며, 이를 주도한 국가가 지역의 중심으로서 역할을 수행할 수 있을 것이다.

동북아 물류중심과 광양항 (Strategy for Kwangyang Port as a Logistics Center of East Asia)

  • These days the surroundings around harbours are rapidly changing. Particularly in the age of Pacific Rim it is rather clear that the competition among the harbours in Northeast Asia region where are so many of worldwidely famous harbours might be intense. From 1980s on the industrialization and urbanization in the area of Kwang Yand-Bay, thanks to the regional development program, have been speedily under way. And in the year of 1987 the 1st development program of Kwang Yang-Bay container quay was started and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 1997. As the completion of the program it is expected that in 1998 the newly-opening Kwang Yang-Bay container quay on one hand will play a role in relieving the awaiting-time of vessels in Pusan Port, and on the other hand it will contribute to the balanced development of the country. In this context this thesis conducted Its study on the effect of the specification and facilities of a harbour, and especially on the effect on the regional economy resulted by the development & developmental static of Kwang Yang-Bay container quay. And progressively in the thesis the plan to provide Kwang Yang-Bay container quay with competitiveness was suggested.

시진핑(習近平) 국가주석의 방한과 한·중 미래 전략적 협력 동반자 관계 (Xi Jinping's Visit to South Korea and Its Implications)

  • On July 3~4, 2014, the Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Seoul might be seen as a step on the path toward strategic outcomes for both country. For South Korea, Seoul shrewdly retains some degree of self-reliance by balancing between ROK-China strategic cooperative partnership relationship and ROK-US alliance. For China, Beijing appears to put its interests on the Korean Peninsula increasingly within China's larger geopolitical influence. To what extent can ROK-China relationship maintain futuristic strategic cooperative partnership between them? As we observed joint press communiques of the Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit on July 3, 2014, four agendas of bilateral relationship between Seoul and Beijing can be identified: intractable rivalry between the two great powers, North Korea nuclear issues, disparities of their displeasure with Japan denying the past wrongdoing and enhancing its military capabilities and Chinese imposing of its core interests on its Korea policy. With these evolving strategic environments, however, China and the ROK appear justifiably be pleased with the state of their relations: their strategic cooperative partnership is the cornerstone of peace and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific or Indo-Pacific region and continues to grow broader and deeper.

트램사고 방지를 위한 사고유형 분석 및 교차로 제어방안에 대한 고찰 (A Review on Accident Type Analysis and Crossing Control Measures for Tram Accident Prevention)

  • Korea's first tram (so called "tram"), which was commenced the operation on May 4, 1899 of late Joseon Dynasty and run until 1968, played a pivotal role of public transportation. However, tram as new transportation mean is being recognized as traffic congestion problem becomes issue due to geometric automobile increase and reckless urban plan after stoppage of tram service. Tram has an advantage of inexpensive construction cost and eco-friendly means compared to existing and city railway, carrying more passengers rather than existing bus, excellent connectivity of existing transportation because of easy accessible to destination in the city center. Therefore, tram, what is called "Green Rvolution of Public Transportation", has a dreaming of revival and in the process of pushing. We suggest the accident type which might break out in the early stage of tram introduction and preventive measures by surveying the accident cases of tram advanced country, and study the crossing control measures.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to shed light on the healthcare management systems in correlation with the advancing technological world, as well as the many diversified systems in different Asian countries. Research design, data, and methodology - This is a comprehensive study on the past researches that have been conducted on the field of healthcare management in different Asian countries. The different types of healthcare coverages were examined by country. Additionally, incorporating the healthcare system with technology is also investigated in this research. Results - The results have shown that there is a rapid incorporation of the technology in today's society with the healthcare systems. This has promising effects for the future, and for the different healthcare systems that exist within other Asian countries around the world. Conclusion - Quality healthcare for people are still elusive, and the healthcare management should improve on ways to better take care of their patients for the near future. By shedding light on the healthcare systems of Asian countries, an idea of the similarities and differences each hold can be assessed and utilized for future goals. By incorporating technology into healthcare systems, this will help in improving the overall care and quality-of-life that patients receive for the future.

장어 시판제품에 대한 동북아시아의 가공현황 및 일본인 소비자의 구매실태 조사 (A Study on Utilization of Japanese Consumers and the Present Condition of Northeast Asia Processed Eels)

  • This study investigated the current processing degree and ingredients of sauce on the packaging of the commercial eel products made in Northeast Asia (Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan) and surveyedthe perception of nutritional functionality and purchasing pattern of Japanese consumers for the processed eels. The results are considered as a useful aid for preparation of processed eel products. The commercial eel products, purchased at a department store, supermarket and discount market, were divided by processing method, package quantity, storage method and sauce ingredients. The processing method was indicated in many different ways in each country, such as sauce ingredients and intake method. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 105 Japanese consumers (male 43, female 62) visiting Korea. Of the respondents, 44% answered and the major reasons for purchasing processed eel products were as a side dish for meals. The results for this factor were significantly different in relation to age (p <0.05). The degree of perceptions of functional excellence about processed eel products was well known (37%), some (49%), and seldom (14%). The results for this factor were significantly different in relation to age (p <0.001). Seventy-five percent of the respondents had experienced processed eel products. The type of purchase of the respondents was highest for vinegared rice and fish (47%), followed by freezing (33%), canning (5%), and dried food (4%), in that order.

Malignant Tumours of the Central Nervous System in Kazakhstan - Incidence Trends from 2004-2011

  • In the article were observed the epidemiological aspects of malignant tumors of the central nervous system (MT CNS) in Kazakhstan in a retrospective study for the years 2004-2011. The material of the study was consolidated accounting data of oncology centers on patients with MT CNS (C70-72) with first time established diagnosis. Calculated were crude, age, standardized (world standard), aligned and predicted incidence of MT CNS among both male and female populations. It was found that over the studied period, there were 4,604 cases of MT CNS. The average annual crude incidence rate of MT CNS in total population was $3.7{\pm}0.1^0/_{0000}$. Trends in aligned incidence rates in the whole country had a tendency to increase (T=+0.9%). Defined levels of morbidity MT CNS in the whole population in different regions of Kazakhstan: low up to $2.87^0/_{0000}$, the average from 2.87 to $4.45^0/_{0000}$ and high from $4.45^0/_{0000}$ and above on the basis of which was given the space-time estimate. Age and sex differences in MT CNS incidence were also clearly established.

우리나라 크루즈항별 발전방향에 대한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Developing Strategy of Korean Cruise Ports)

  • 크루즈산업은 경제위기에도 불구하고 지속적으로 성장하는 고부가가치산업이다. 중국인의 크루즈여행객이 증가함에 따라 동북아 크루즈산업 발전이 주목되고 있다. 우리나라의 항만들도 크루즈모항이라는 비전을 가지고 크루즈부두 건설에 나서고 있다. 아시아 크루즈산업을 선도하고 있는 싱가폴의 크루즈산업전략은 싱가폴의 관광산업발전전략과 연계되어 있었다. 싱가폴 사례에 대한 시사점에 의거하여 우리나라 크루즈산업의 발전방안을 제시한다. 크루즈 모항과 기항의 경제적 효과 비교와 우리나라의 크루즈산업환경에 기반하여, 부산항은 모항, 인천항은 준모항, 제주항은 기항항으로의 발전모델을 제시하였다. 우리나라 크루즈항은 동북아에서 기항항의 역할을 담당하고 있으며 크루즈산업의 발전을 위해서는 국적선사의 도입과 이를 통한 모항개발이 필요하다.

The Study on the Effects of Air Pollution on the Material Damages in Northeast Asia

  • The material exposure tests have been carried out since 1993 to evaluate the relationship between air pollution and material corrosion with the cooperation of the researchers in Japan, China, and Korea. The test pieces such as bronze, copper, marble, and carbon steel have been exposed under both unsheltered and rain-sheltered outdoor condition separately at 18 sampling sites in East Asia. At the same time, the concentration of SO$_2$ and NO$_2$ has been measured simultaneously with passive sampler. The meteorological data were collected from the AWS (Auto-mated weather station) In each country and chemical compositions of wet deposition were also analyzed by the bulk sampling of rainfall every month. As the results, it was found that the corrosion rates of test pieces in the ambient air were appeared to be in the order of carbon steel > marble > bronze copper. The corrosion rates of test pieces in the unsheltered outdoor condition were 2.34 to 5.88 times larger than those in rain-sheltered condition. It was also found that the corrosion rate in the heavy polluted area in China was the highest, and the corrosion rates of the metal pieces were generally proportional to SO$_2$ concentration. Between two sites in Korea, the test pieces at Daegu site showed higher corrosion rates that would be due to the higher SO$_2$ concentration.

The impact of globalization on business and economic development in Zimbabwe

  • Purpose - This paper objectively analyzes the effects of globalization on Zimbabwe's business and economic development using the Business in Context (BIC) model. Research design, data, and methodology - We employed a qualitative research methodology, following an exploratory secondary research design in this paper. Results - The findings reveal that businesses in Zimbabwe have benefited from globalization as it has drawn investments from international companies in the country. In addition, the business sector is benefiting from the economies of scale realized from the investments made by companies in Africa, East Asia, Europe, and America. However, we also discover that globalization has resulted in the proliferation of cheap sub-standard goods and services from East Asia, and has increased competition between indigenous companies and foreign-owned multinationals. Conclusion - Our findings suggest that globalization has both positive and negative effects on business and economic development in Africa in general, and Zimbabwe in particular. However, we note that the advantages, to a certain extent, outweigh the disadvantages. What, then, could be the way forward for Zimbabwe, in the face of globalization? As a solution, this paper recommends the development of a policy on global associations by the Zimbabwean government, to enhance business and economic development.
