Micro and small enterprises are businesses that absorb the most labor in Korea. The position of micro and small enterprises in the national economy has an important and strategic role because micro and small enterprises are quite dominant in the Korea economy. The purpose of this study is to look at the effect of the CEO' business experience, competency(job competency, money competency, digital competency), government support service(government support satisfaction, education support) on the performance. For this study, data was collected from 220 CEO by using questionnaires. The statistics analysis SPSS 24.0 was used, it is a factor analysis, reliability test and multiple regression analysis for hypothesis verification. The research results are as follows. First, as a result of examining the effect of the CEO competency on the performance, it was found that among the competency factors, money competency and digital competency had a significantly positive (+) effect on the performance. Second, as a result of examining the effect of government support service on the performance, government support satisfaction, education support had a positive (+) effect on the performance. Thirdly, in the relationship between CEO' business experience, competency, government support service and performance, the mediating effect of self efficiency was significant money competency→self efficiency→performance, digital competency→self efficiency→performance.

In order to secure sustainable competitiveness of startups, business model innovation is an important task to achieve competitive advantage by transforming the various elements that make up the business model. This study conducted a multi-case analysis study on leading smart farm companies around the world using an analysis framework based on business model theory. Through this, we sought to identify business model types and their constituent elements. For this, 19 companies were selected from the list of top 10 investment startups of the year for the past three years published by Agfunder, a global investment research company specializing in AgTech. Then data collection and analysis of the company cases were conducted according to the case study protocol. As a result of the study, the business model types were analyzed into four types: large-scale centralized production model, medium-to-large local distributed production model, small-scale hyperlocal modular FaaS model, and small-scale hyperlocal turnkey solution supply model. A comparative analysis was conducted on five business model components for each type, and strategic implications were derived through this. This study is expected to contribute to improving the competitiveness of domestic smart farm startups and diversifying their strategies by identifying the business models of overseas leading companies in the smart farm field using an academic analysis framework.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of internal competence of small business on the competitive advantage and start-up intention. Through this, which key competence of small business can be proposed for market growth against of large companies that have a great capital power. Also, implications for development direction can be suggested. For this purpose, technology capability, financing capability, marketing capability, and product/service differentiation capability factors were set as independent variables, as well as competitive advantage as a mediating factor, and startup intention to be franchiser as a dependent variable. For the analysis, a structured questionnaires survey was conducted to 276 domestic small business in capital area. The main results are as follows. First, in relation to the internal competency and the competitive advantage of small businesses, it was found that technological capabilities, financing capabilities and product (service) differentiation have a positive effect on competitive advantage. Second, the relationship between the internal capacity of a small entity and startup intention to commercialize a franchiser business indicates that its financing capacity and marketing capabilities have a positive effect on startup intention to commercialize the business, and that competitive advantage has a significant effect on startup intention to commercialize the franchise. Third, competitive advantage was found to mediate the relationship between internal competency and startup intention. Finally, it was shown that the internal capacity of a small business has a regulating effect in relation to its financing capacity, marketing capabilities and startup intention to commercialize the franchise, and that it also had a regulating effect in relation to its relationship with its competitive advantage and franchise suitability. Based on the above results, if small business can take competitive advantage in the market, they also consider startup intention to commercialize a franchiser, in addition, it is expected that one suggestion can be made from an internal capacity perspective required more emphasis on operations and management as an alternative to expanding small businesses' business, including market access measures that can be linked to internal capacity factors of small businesses.

This study is an empirical analysis of the welfare of small and medium venture company trade. In the past, although the study analyzes the trade welfare for representative firm, this research is focusing on the distribution of an entire industry of companies analyzed. In this study, medium-to venture enterprise-scale for logarithmic normal distribution and Pareto distribution is estimated, and this study investigates the trading welfare changes. Results of the analysis can be summarized as follows. First of all, greater trade benefits enterprise-scale heterogeneity appeared to be significant. The result of this finding appeared to be the same to large firms as well as small and medium ventures. Trading welfare, assuming the distribution of Pareto rather than logarithmic normal distribution it's supposed to be overwhelmingly large. Secondly, the case of large corporations shows the more trade welfare than that of small and medium venture companies. Third, assuming homogeneous distribution of enterprise-scale trade welfare differences did not exist. Finally, from the point of view of increasing the welfare of trade, the diversity aiming of venture business is a very important role in the long term, because of the small and medium-sized ventures trade role.

This study seeks to find an effective support plan through the success factors recognized in the early stages of startup and those recognized after success by grasping the success factors of successful small business entrepreneurs at each stage from the pre-start stage to the growth stage. To this end, a qualitative study through interviews was conducted with successful convenience store franchisees to derive success factors from the start-up preparation stage to the early stage and growth stage. The success factors of starting a small business were studied in consideration of the characteristics of franchise convenience store startups using the ERI model and the ERIS model applied in the study on the performance of startups. The success factors were studied using the multisite service firm life cycle of Sasser et al.(1978) reflecting the results. As a result of the study, the key factors of successful franchisees were the selection of the location of the first store, the selection of strategic additional stores, and the successful renewal of the contract. Depending on the characteristics of the founder, the enterprising franchisees took an active attitude in selecting strategic locations for additional stores and defending the commercial district, while the relatively conservative franchisees showed an active attitude toward store operation and renewal from a management perspective. In particular, the entrepreneur's mind is important in the preparation stage, and the importance of the entrepreneur's management strategy was discovered in the entire business cycle. Based on the results of this study, this study specifically sought out a start-up plan to effectively apply it to the future growth stage.

This study aimed to derive theoretical and practical implications by analyzing the relationship between adversity quotient, entrepreneurial orientation, and customer orientation, which are the internal competency of start-up entrepreneurs affecting the performance of a small business CEO. As in previous domestic studies, we deviated from analyzing internal competency as a single-dimensional functional relationship to business performance, and attempted to explain the relationship between the internal competences of start-up entrepreneurs. Empirical analysis was conducted by setting the adversity quotient as an independent variable, the entrepreneurial orientation as a parameter, and the customer orientation as a dependent variable. As a result of the analysis, first, it was found that control and ownership, which are sub-elements of adversity quotient, have a positive effect on entrepreneurial orientation and customer orientation. Second, entrepreneurial orientation was found to have a positive effect on customer orientation. Third, it was found that only the ownership of the adversity quotient had a positive effect on customer orientation through the mediating effect of entrepreneurial orientation. In other words, it was found that the entrepreneur's ownership influences customer orientation through entrepreneurial orientation. On the other hand, endurance, sub-element of adversity quotient, was found to have no significant effect on entrepreneurial orientation and customer orientation. This means that in the rapidly changing New Normal era, endurance of entrepreneur can no longer have a large impact on entrepreneurial orientation and customer orientation. This study gives implications for the entrepreneur's competencies that must be developed first and the tendency to be developed together. Furthermore, it can be helpful in policy designing start-up support programs and guidelines for investors' investment standards.

This study aims to identify the characteristic variables of businesses that would impact the choice of their type in the 6th industry and analyze how they work. To this end, this study analyzed data of 752 businesses certified as belonging to the 6th industry in 2015 through the classification and regression tree (CART) algorithm in decision tree analysis. The results of analysis showed that the type of agricultural product processing affected shaping the type of the 6th industry at the early stage of growth while the type of agricultural product processing, the type of service, region and sales volumes at the stage of growth and service strategy and the type of agricultural product processing at the stage of maturity. These findings empirically identified key business factors that could support businesses in the 6th industry at each stage of growth and presented a direction forward for support of the 6th industry.

The Korean government is building a virtuous cycle of startups and venture businesses for a dynamic, innovative economy. This ecosystem is made possible when a social environment that embraces tolerance and turn business failure into re-startups and challenging venture startups by outstanding entrepreneurs are present. Due to the government's efforts to promote start-ups and venture businesses, their number has been increasing annually, but the efforts to create a social environment for re-startups and establish a relevant institution have recently started. This study is aimed at providing policy direction for re-startups by getting policy implications after identifying the current status of domestic failed businessmen' re-startups based on previous researches on failed businessmen. This study also reviewed advanced nations' cases and made international comparison of re-startup policies. Before the startup culture that recognizes failure as the stage for success is formed as in the U.S., it is necessary to create a legal basis for continuously pushing for the rechallenge policy of EU's Small Business Act and establish and operate the private sector-driven revitalization council of SMEs in Japan. It is also necessary to consider the guarantee of failed businessmen' livelihood. If additional research and government policies are added to the conclusions made on the policy implications, this research will provide an in-depth insight for revitalizing domestic re-startup.

A lot of factor effects on the enterprise's innovation and business performance, for instance CEO and members intention etc.. Niehoff et al. says, The success factors of innovation enterprise's management lead to members of vision, innovation, innovation activities and support for an aggressive attitude of the enterprise members. However, today's products consumers wanted diverse and complex needs. CEO and members of the enterprise has been the diversity effort. The increase cost savings as well as in the profit improve factors that enterprise's participated a education and training, Subgroup activities, process quality, eliminate waste, improve yields, lead time reduction, process capability increasing, ets. This paper is a report of an empirical survey performed to 277 small and medium-sized enterprise in the korea. Cronbach's alpha coefficient is employed to analyze the reliability of the data. The effect analysis of each group is performed by the SEM(structural equation model). We use the SPSS' Amos program to analyze the equation modeling and test the hypotheses of the model.
Purpose & methodology - This study is to answer the following three questions, analyzing data on Top 50 Indian Billionaires, Top 50 Indian companies and Top 50 Indian start-ups. The first is whether or not traiditonal merchant caste like Vaisya's ability of creating wealth declined as some studies argue. The second is whether non-merchant caste like Brahmin, Kshatriya, OBC, Dalit, emerged as an India's new business elite. The third is whether the results of top 50 Indian companies and top 50 start-ups' analyses have similarities with that of top 50 Indian Billionaires analysis. Findings - The result is firstly, the ability of creating wealth of businessmen from the merchant caste was still overwhelming. Secondly, the big businessmen' rising from non-merchant castes as a new business elite was extremely rare. Thirdly, according to the analysis of top 50 Indian start-ups, the percentage of Vaisya has significantly declined while the the percentage of upper castes like Brahmin has noticeably increased. Fourthly, no evidence was found that businessmen from the lower castes like OBC or Dalit were increasing the expanding business influence. Research implications - The Studies mean that in big-sized Indian companies, the power of traditional merchant caste remains the same as before and is even reinforcing, while in small start-ups, Vaisya's power is considerably decreasing, and the upper castes like Brahmin who are highly educated are noticeably increasing.
