  • Several algorithms have been developed to classify arrhythmia which either rely on specific ECG(Electrocardiogram) database. Nevertheless personalized difference of ECG signal exist, performance degradation occurs because of carrying out diagnosis by general classification rule. Most methods require accurate detection of P-QRS-T point, higher computational cost and larger processing time. But it is difficult to detect the P and T wave signal because of person's individual difference. Therefore it is necessary to design efficient algorithm that classifies different arrhythmia in realtime and decreases computational cost by extracting minimal feature. In this paper, we propose arrhythmia classification method using QRS Pattern of ECG signal according to personalized type. For this purpose, we detected R wave through the preprocessing method and define QRS pattern of ECG signal by QRS feature Also, we detect and modify by pattern classification, classified arrhythmia duplicated QRS pattern in realtime. Normal, PVC, PAC, LBBB, RBBB, Paced beat classification is evaluated by using 43 record of MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The achieved scores indicate the average of 99.98%, 97.22%, 95.14%, 91.47%, 94.85%, 97.48% in PVC, PAC, Normal, BBB, Paced beat classification.

  • Studies on predicting arrhythmia using machine learning have been actively conducted with increasing number of arrhythmia patients. Existing studies have predicted arrhythmia based on multivariate data of feature variables extracted from RR interval data at a specific time point. In this study, we consider that the pattern of the heart state changes with time can be important information for the arrhythmia prediction. Therefore, we investigate the usefulness of predicting the arrhythmia with multivariate time series data obtained by extracting and accumulating the multivariate vectors of the feature variables at various time points. When considering 1-nearest neighbor classification method and its ensemble for comparison, it is confirmed that the multivariate time series data based method can have better classification performance than the multivariate data based method if we select an appropriate time series distance function.

  • Arrhythmia is basically diagnosed with the electrocardiogram (ECG) signal, however, ECG is difficult to measure and it requires expert help in analyzing the signal. On the other hand, the radial pulse can be measured with easy and uncomplicated way in daily life, and could be suitable bio-signal for the recent untact paradigm and extensible signal for diagnosis of Korean medicine based on pulse pattern. In this study, we developed an irregular radial pulse detection algorithm based on a learning model and considered its applicability as arrhythmia screening. A total of 1432 pulse waves including irregular pulse data were used in the experiment. Three data sets were prepared with minimal preprocessing to avoid the heuristic feature extraction. As classification algorithms, elastic net logistic regression, random forest, and extreme gradient boosting were applied to each data set and the irregular pulse detection performances were estimated using area under the receiver operating characteristic curve based on a 10-fold cross-validation. The extreme gradient boosting method showed the superior performance than others and found that the classification accuracy reached 99.7%. The results confirmed that the proposed algorithm could be used for arrhythmia screening. To make a fusion technology integrating western and Korean medicine, arrhythmia subtype classification from the perspective of Korean medicine will be needed for future research.

  • A new algorithm classifying ECG Arrhythmia signals using Back-propagation network is proposed. The base-line of ECG signal is detected by high pass filter and probability density function then input data are normalized for learning and classifying. In addition, ECG data are scanned to classify Arrhythmia signal which is hard to find R-wave. A two-layer perceptron with one hidden layer along with error back-propagation learning rule is utilized as an artificial neural network. The proposed algorithm shows outstanding performance under circumstances of amplitude variation, baseline wander and noise contamination.

  • The more people use ambulatory electrocardiogram(ECG) for arrhythmia detection, the more researchers report the automatic classification algorithms. Most of the previous studies don't consider the un-balanced data distribution. Even in patients, there are much more normal beats than abnormal beats among the data from 24 hours. To solve this problem, the hierarchical classification using 21 features was adopted for arrhythmia abnormal beat detection. The features include R-R intervals and data to describe the morphology of the wave. To validate the algorithm, 44 non-pacemaker recordings from physionet were used. The hierarchical classification model with 2 stages on domain knowledge was constructed. Using our suggested method, we could improve the performance in abnormal beat classification from the conventional multi-class classification method. In conclusion, the domain knowledge based hierarchical classification is useful to the ECG beat classification with unbalanced data distribution.

  • Most methods for detecting arrhythmia require pp interval, diversity of P wave morphology, but it is difficult to detect the p wave signal because of various noise types. Therefore it is necessary to use noise-free R wave. In this paper, we propose algorithm for premature contraction arrhythmia classification through ECG pattern analysis and template threshold. For this purpose, we detected R wave through the preprocessing method using morphological filter, subtractive operation method. Also, we developed algorithm to classify premature contraction wave pattern using weighted average, premature ventricular contraction(PVC) and atrial premature contraction(APC) through template threshold for R wave amplitude. The performance of R wave detection, PVC classification is evaluated by using 6 record of MIT-BIH arrhythmia database that included over 30 PVC and APC. The achieved scores indicate the average of 99.77% in R wave detection and the rate of 94.91%, 95.76% in PVC and APC classification.

  • Arrhythmia is a condition in which the heart beats abnormally or irregularly, early detection is very important because it can cause dangerous situations such as fainting or sudden cardiac death. However, performance degradation occurs due to personalized differences in ECG signals. In this paper, we propose arrhythmia classification using hybrid combination model of CNN-LSTM. For this purpose, the R wave is detected from noise removed signal and a single bit segment was extracted. It consisted of eight convolutional layers to extract the features of the arrhythmia in detail, used them as the input of the LSTM. The weights were learned through deep learning and the model was evaluated by the verification data. The performance was compared in terms of the accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score through MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The achieved scores indicate 92.3%, 90.98%, 92.20%, 90.72% in terms of the accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, respectively.

  • Previous works for detecting arrhythmia have mostly used nonlinear method such as artificial neural network, fuzzy theory, support vector machine to increase classification accuracy. Most methods require accurate detection of P-QRS-T point, higher computational cost and larger processing time. • Among cardiac diseases, arrhythmias can lead to serious complications such as stroke, heart attack, and heart failure if left untreated, so continuous and accurate ECG monitoring is crucial for clinical care. However, the accurate interpretation of electrocardiogram (ECG) data is entirely dependent on medical doctors, which requires additional time and cost. Therefore, this paper proposes an arrhythmia recognition module for the purpose of developing a medical platform through the analysis of abnormal pulse waveforms based on Lifelogs. The proposed method is to convert ECG data into image format instead of time series data, apply visual pattern recognition technology, and then detect arrhythmia using CNN model. In order to validate the arrhythmia classification of the CNN model by image type conversion of ECG data proposed in this paper, the MIT-BIH arrhythmia dataset was used, and the result showed an accuracy of 97%.
