Research on Cyber IPB Visualization Method based on BGP Archive Data for Cyber Situation Awareness

  • Cyber powers around the world are conducting cyber information-gathering activities in cyberspace, a global domain within the Internet-based information environment. Accordingly, it is imperative to obtain the latest information through the cyber intelligence preparation of the battlefield (IPB) process to prepare for future cyber operations. Research utilizing the cyber battlefield visualization method for effective cyber IPB and situation awareness aims to minimize uncertainty in the cyber battlefield and enable command control and determination by commanders. This paper designed architecture by classifying cyberspace into a physical, logical network layer and cyber persona layer to visualize the cyber battlefield using BGP archive data, which is comprised of BGP connection information data of routers around the world. To implement the architecture, BGP archive data was analyzed and pre-processed, and cyberspace was implemented in the form of a Di-Graph. Information products that can be obtained through visualization were classified for each layer of the cyberspace, and a visualization method was proposed for performing cyber IPB. Through this, we analyzed actual North Korea's BGP and OSINT data to implement North Korea's cyber battlefield centered on the Internet network in the form of a prototype. In the future, we will implement a prototype architecture based on Elastic Stack.

  • In the software industry of Korean Small and Medium-sized Enterprise(SME)s, the development process is often not mature. This may lead to failures in quality control and output management. As a result, the quality of the software can be degraded. To solve the problem, the software visualization technique, which is from the National IT Industry Promotion Agency Software Engineering Center can be applied. We have experienced with mentoring not only the visualization of software development process, but also various visualization process of SMEs. However, the existing software visualization method was difficult to install environment and its time cost was high. This paper proposes a software visualization environment through a cloud service along with a case of building a software visualization environment. We expect that this method will make it easier to build a visualization environment and improve the quality of SME software.

  • In Regarding urban geo-spatial information visualization in this study, visualization of physical attribute information is mostly related to the representation of spatial domain and physical objects, and visualization of non-physical attribute information has to do with visualizing citizens and their activity information in the physical environment. In particular, a citizen, one of the non-physical information attributes, is characterized by a constant mobility in the physical environment, and thus visualization of his/her activity information is vital in conveying information because this information may not be depicted with any given, fixed figures. In consideration of this difficulty, this study integrates interrelationship among urban space, human needs, social relations, and lifestyles into a 'high-tech' service where experience in time and space is possible. To analyze the web-service and visualization cases, the study has selected visualization indicators consisting of information representation objective, information representation means, and information representation result. The results of the case analysis through specific indicators set a range in information representation objective, means, and result, thereby forming a user-friendly environment in which representational results are readily available to users, and ultimately expanding the users' selection range coming with a variety of options. This study also assumes that a wide range of service provision is needed to reflect users' needs in developing urban geo-spatial service model, and the display of its results should visualize users' satisfaction to construct the best information needed to users.

  • The safety assessment of the structure related to people has become the most important part in the process of the design. Especially, in the case of a ship, as regulations about the safety of passengers and the pollution in the ocean are strictly reinforcing, the safety assessment has become the most important part in the process of the design. In this paper, we suggested network-based simulation system framework using HLA (High Level Architecture) among many kind of simulations to assess the safety of the ship. In addition, the visualization method which is composed of graphic user interface for ship modeling and the visualization of ship motion is presented.

조선해양공학 분야의 가시화기법 (Visualization Techniques for Marine Engineering Research)

  • This paper describes the general aspects of various visualization techniques employed for marine engineering research including classical naval architecture, ocean engineering and other related topics. Visualization techniques performed mostly by authors' were introduced here, which range from old fashioned methods such as paint and tuft tests to the newly emerging PIV technique and Sonar in broad sense. Brief explanation of each technique was made for the instruction purposes. It is strongly recommended that the interdisciplinary project with experts in other research areas is necessary in order to develop more advanced and profitable techniques.

  • The structural intensity analysis, which calculates vibration energy flow from vibratory velocity and internal force of a structure, can give information on sources' power, dominant transmission path and sink of vibration energy. In this study, we present a system for structural intensity analysis and visualization to apply for anti-vibration design of ship structures. The system calculates structural intensity from the results of forced vibration analysis and visualize the intensity using a general purpose finite element analysis program MSC/Nastran and its pre- and post-processor program. To demonstrate the analysis and visualization capability of the presented system, we show and discuss the results of structural intensity analysis for a cross-stiffened plate and a 70,500 OW crude oil tanker

  • We are defined a space as the activities of creating value in harmonic relations between human and environment. After Industrial Revolution, relations between human and space is changing because of speed and visualization's power in contemporary society. We we known information where is far by means of visualization. There is only difference of speed. Movement in space means the line of vision and circulation. But it is tried to think relations between human and space again in result to experience indirectly. This study aims at the analysis of expression of the modem Architecture space in Giedion' Space, Time, Architecture and aesthetic systems applied to it. On the basis of that , this study analyzed the difference of Bergson' consideration from Modern Architecture about movement.

오픈 소스 BIM서버를 활용한 비용 효과적인 GIS기반 BIM 객체 가시화 시스템 아키텍처 설계 (GIS-based BIM Object Visualization System Architecture Design using Open source BIM Server Cost-Effectively)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 오픈소스 BIM서버를 활용해 GIS(Geographic Information System)기반으로 BIM(Building Information Modeling)객체를 가시화하는 비용 효과적인 시스템 아키텍처를 디자인하는 것이다. 최근 세계적으로 GIS와 BIM을 기반으로 시설물 관리 등을 효과적으로 구현하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 관련 연구에서 GIS와 같은 이기종 시스템과 연계가 가능한 BIM서버가 개발될 필요성이 부각되고 있다. 이런 관점에서 오픈소스 BIM서버는 비용 및 유지보수성 측면에서 효과적인 대안이 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 오픈소스 BIM서버를 활용한 GIS기반 BIM객체 가시화 시스템의 아키텍처를 디자인한다. 이를 구현하기 위해 BIM서버 관련 연구 동향을 분석하고, 최근 해외에서 활용되기 시작한 오픈소스 기반 BIM서버인 bimServer의 구조를 분석한다. BIM서버에 저장된 BIM객체의 데이터인 형상 및 속성을 GIS 상에 가시화할 수 있는 방안을 도출하고 아키텍처를 제안한다. 마지막으로 제안된 아키텍처의 적용성을 보이기 위해 시스템을 구현하고 결과를 도출한다.

  • 국내의 소프트웨어 산업계는 고품질 소프트웨어를 위해, 개발/테스트 프로세스, 성숙도 측정등에 초점을 두고 있다. 그러나 실제 중소기업의 산업현장에서는 코드중심으로 개발되고 있다. 그리고 대부분의 기존 레거시 시스템은 설계의 부재 그리고 코드 패칭으로 코드 내부의 복잡도가 매우 높은 현실이다. 이를 해결하고자, 코드의 가시화(visualization)를 적용하였다. 이 가시화는 모듈간의 복잡도를 줄이려는 목적을 가지고 있다. 이를 위해 기존 공개 도구로 툴 체인 구성 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 NIPA의 SW Visualization 기법을 적용 확장하였다. 또한 코드 가시화내의 품질지표 중에 결합도 요소 중의 나쁜 지표에 대한 리팩토링 시도이다. 결과적으로 레가시 코드에 대해 역 공학 기법(from programming via model to architecture)적용과 이를 통한 소프트웨어 고품질화이다.

입자 기반 유동 시뮬레이션의 렌더링 기술 개발 (Development of Rendering Techniques for Particle-based Flow Simulation)

  • Recently, various particle based simulation techniques, which solve the Navier Stokes and continuity equations, have been developed and applied to complicated engineering problems. However, although progress is being made on their visualization or rendering techniques, these are still insufficient. In this study, to render a smooth configuration for a free surface, a rendering technique was developed that included the generation of density fields from the location information for simulated particles and the creation model for a polygonal surface. The developed rendering technique was applied to the visualization of a dynamic free surface flow interacting with a structure using a particle based simulation technique.
