The main cause of solar facility fires is arc, and in the last 3 years ('16 to '18), about 80% of domestic solar facility fires have been caused by arcs. The capacity of solar power facilities installed around the world continues to increase, and fires caused by arcs are also expected to increase as the solar power generation facilities that were initially installed become obsolete, In this paper, an arc generation test was conducted based on the UL1699B test standard. As a result of the test, the arc generation satisfied the minimum arc current according to the test conditions, and DC arc characteristics were analyzed through data such as arc voltage and arc current according to variables such as speed of moving electrodes and electrode spacing.
The welding quality by Gas Tungsten Arc Welding shows very high level, but the welding speed is lower than that of gas metal arc welding. Also, the welding quality by automatic GTAW is variable as the arc characteristics is changed by the consumption of electrode tip. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation between the properties of tungsten electrode tip and the various arc characteristics at high current region. In this study, the high welding current 200A was applied to the repeated arc start test and long term arcing test using the $\phi$3.2 tungsten electrodes with cone angle 30$^{\circ}$, 45$^{\circ}$, 60$^{\circ}$sharp tip, and 60$^{\circ}$surface polished (S.P.) sharp tip. It was confirmed that the maximum arc pressure by the initial electrode condition was highest in 45$^{\circ}$sharp tip, and the next in 60$^{\circ}$sharp tip, the last was in 30$^{\circ}$sharp tip and 60$^{\circ}$S.P.. But, the maximum arc pressure after the repeated arc start test and long term arcing test was decreased considerably. But, the maximum arc pressure was highest also in 45$^{\circ}$ sharp tip after the tests, the next was in 30$^{\circ}$sharp tip, and the last was in 60$^{\circ}$sharp tip and 60$^{\circ}$S.P.. The arc start characteristics was the most excellent in 60$^{\circ}$S.P., By long term arcing test, the lanthania included in tungsten electrode was extinguished at tip surface preferentially, therefore the arc characteristics of electrode tip got worse.

The SLF(Short Line Fault) breaking capability test for high voltage class $SF_6$ GCB(Gas Circuit Breaker) was conducted. Simplified LC resonant circuit test facility was used for SLF breaking test. During test, Test current was measured by Rogwski coil and arc voltage was measured by voltage divider. Arc conductance was calculated by using these test results before 200ns at current zero. Critical arc conductance value at rated voltage 145kV class is about 2.3mS regardless of breaking current magnitude and arc conductance value at rated voltage 170kV class is about 2.6mS.
Purpose Renin is a proteolytic enzyme synthesized and secreted from epidermal(juxtaglomerular) cells in kidney. Renin acts on the renin substrate angiotensinogen to produce angiotensin I, and then angiotensin II is produced by the action of angiotensin converting enzyme. This causes the adrenal glands to boost blood pressure (vasoconstriction) and promote aldosterone secretion. While Plasma renin activity (PRA) is to test angiotensin I, the active renin concentration (ARC) is a renin test directly. They have different test methods and their own substrates. However, these two methods are sometimes interpreted as the same as a result. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of the ARC test by comparing the results between PRA and ARC. Materials and Methods For the diversity of the experiment, 26 samples were requested to test with PRA(TFB company) and ARC(Cisbio company) to other institution. We compared and analyzed PRA(Immunotech company) and ARC(Cisbio company) tests using 28 samples from September $15^{th}$ to October $13^{th}$ in 2017. The statistical analysis method for PRA/ARC evaluated the usefulness using Microsoft Excel program by verifying a correlation analysis of Aldosterone/PRA ratio and a correlation analysis of Aldosterone/ARC ratio and conducting T-test. Results The regression equation of the PRA(Immunotech company)/ARC(Cisbio company), which was tested in the department, was y = 0.0619x + 0.4615 and the correlation coefficient was 0.73. The regression equation of the PRA(TFB company)/ARC(Cisbio company), which was tested in the other institution, was y = 0.0888x + 0.3316 and the correlation coefficient was 0.91. In addition, The regression equation of Aldosterone / PRA ratio and Aldosterone / ARC ratio was y = 0.875x - 11.688 and the correlation coefficient was 0.87. Plus T - test showed no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion Both tests showed a strong positive correlation, but this only represents the strength and direction of the relationship between the two tests. Furthermore, the actual results showed somewhat differences. It is presumed that the measured value was influenced by the endogenous renin group mass in the plasma, the condition of the enzyme reaction and the kind of the inhibitor. When the active renin concentration (ARC) test is performed, it is useful to distinguish between the two tests as they are complementary.

Sintered Cu-W has been used for the electrode of GIS for interrupting the abnormal current. In this study the effect of Ni addition in Cu-W electrode was investigated. Cu-W electrodes used contains 0.1~0.2wt% Ni and were conducted the experiments which was attacked by DC arc test (70V-70A) for 300 times periodically. As the contents of Ni in Cu-W electrode increase, the hardness and electrical conductivity were decreased. The weight change ($\Delta$mg) of electrode after DC arc test increased with increasing Ni contents and test times. The hardness and electrical conductivity of electrode after DC arc test were decreased compared with non-arc affected electrode, which was owing to the defects near surface of electrode and degradation by arc heat. It was considered that Cu in the Cu-W electrode was scattered to all directions by arc heat, therefore, the electrodes were damaged and deformed in the surface and cross-section of electrode. It is difficult to estimate directly the characteristics of Cu-W electrode for GIS related with high voltage and current from the results of DC arc test conducted in this study. However, the results of the effect of Ni addition in Cu-W electrode could be applied for the research of electrode for GIS.

The performance of copper-tungsten for electrodes used in an ultra high voltage interruption system was evaluated by means of an interruption test, which requires a large-scale apparatus and high cost. In this study, prior to the interruption test, the characteristics of a Cu-W electrode were estimated through the DC arc test, which is a simple, low cost procedure. The DC arc characteristics of a 20wt%Cu-80wt%W electrode were investigated with the change of tungsten powder size distribution and the addition of nickel. In specimens containing a high volume fraction of large sized tungsten particles, the relative density and hardness of sintered Cu-W electrodes increased while the electrical conductivity and the DC arc resistance decreased. Furthermore, the relative density became enhanced with the increase of the amount of nickel while the hardness and electrical conductivity diminished and the DC arc resistance worsened.

Design and test results of a VRAG(Vacuum Rotary Arc Gap) switch were presented. To control the damage of electrodes caused by the vacuum arc, Lorentz's force by the radial magnetic field between spiral electrodes was used to rotate the vacuum uc. VRAG switch electrodes were made of the material of CuCr and OFHC. Gap distance between two spiral type electrodes for the rotation of the arc discharge is 8, 10, 12mm. In the cathode, one trigger electrode was inserted into each spiral wing. Normal operation of the VRAG switch was confirmed with 10.6[$mutextrm{s}$]of trigger delay and 2~3[$mutextrm{s}$] of the jitter time. The speed of the vacuum arc was measured to be 0.6 ~ 1[km/s] by a motion analyzer.
This study was executed to substitute Carbon-arc method, which is a method currently used for testing light-fastness of military textile products, with Xenon arc method. Specimens used in the study were classified according to the fabric material and color of military textile products and were composed of 11 items of 42 kinds with different colors. Light-fatness test was done by comparing the result of Carbon-arc(KS K 0700) and Xenon arc(KS K ISO 105-B02) method. In Xenon arc method, blue wool reference materials of 1~8 was used, and exposure condition preferred in American continent and light exposure method 3 were applied. After testing with both methods, grade of light-fastness, color difference, reflectance and color were examined. Even though there was a slight difference among 42 specimens used in the test, results exceeded the quality standard both in Carbon-arc-lamp and Xenon arc-lamp. Therefore, it was confirmed that applying KS K ISO 105-B02 together in the KS K 0700-regulated Ministry of National Defense standard and purchase order would also fit.

The object of this study is to investigate the effect of compounded welding through the AE(Acoustic Emission) characteristics for weld HAZ(Heat Affected Zone) under the static tensile test. This study was carried out an SWS 490A, high tension steel for electric shield metal arc welding(SMAW), $CO_2$ gas arc welding and TIG welding. Data displays are based on the measured parameters of the AE signals, along with environmental variables such as time and load. The accumulated AE event curve of HAZ definitely have the point of inflection subject to tensile test. The results of the tensile test of HAZ come out electric shield arc welding >$CO_2$ gas arc welding>TIG welding in case of single welding, but generally the tensile test of HAZ come out electric shield arc welding> TIG welding > $CO_2$ gas arc welding. These history plots give us useful and powerful information to analyze the results of material evaluation testing.
Purpose: We would like to find the alternative method for the weathering test on rubber coated fabrics and adhesive-coated fabrics for the military products, KS M 0706 (Sunshine carbon arc) to KS M ISO 4892-2 (Xenon arc). Methods: We measured the tensile strength of adhesive-coated fabrics and adhesive products treated with sunshine carbon arc and xenon arc during 100, 150 and 200 hours, respectively. All of the results were treated with statistical test, ANOVA method. We also validate the surface modifications caused by treatment method and time by using FT-IR ATR and, SEM. Results: In case of the thick adhesive-coated fabrics (app. 1 mm), there was no distinctive difference on tensile strength by treatment method and time. In case of the thin mask hood (app. 0.22 mm) and TENT (app. 0.5 mm), there was distinctive difference on tensile strength. Especially, carbon arc showed a huge lowering properties. We could validate the curing from light and moisture, and the functional group change from cross-linking and oxidation using FT-IR ATR. In case of IBS, there was a surface cracks on SEM images. In case of mask hood, there was no distinctive differences, except for a particle falling from decreased affinity between rubber and particles caused by carbon arc. Conclusion: We concluded that there was no problems for changing xenon arc weathering test with same treatment time on IBS, KM7, K21 and adhesive products. In case of TENT and mask hood, there was a difference in tensile strength in accordance with the change of the treated time and method.
