This study aims to develop Korean film music by using Korean traditional music with proper technique. As of 2019, current Korean film music is mostly modeled after Western music. The usage of traditional music instruments is significantly lower than the usage of western instruments and is merely used in Korean historical movies as embedded music. This supports the many views that Korean traditional music seems too difficult to appeal to the general audience in these modern times. Furthermore, there aren't any such cases to apply traditional music techniques to western instruments whereas there have been many occasions where traditional music instruments imitate western instruments with its tones. The suspected reason for this is due to the lack of proper understanding and techniques of traditional music that Korean film composers have utilized, and its limited exposure in popular music. However, traditions are special and unique way to represent the history, culture, lifestyle and characteristic of countries. Therefore, it is our duty to protect our own traditions. As both a Korean, and as a musician, new film music is needed which uses traditional music instruments and its techniques. When film composers create music with better understanding of Korean traditional music, this unique music will be able to transcend borders and spread throughout the world.

In this era of globalization, people's knowledge and cultural aesthetics are strongly influenced by the cultures of different countries, and diversified art forms have broken the traditional art framework, so how to stick to the essence of the country's traditional culture and make it inherited has became an important issue that cannot be ignored in the development of music today. Tan Dun, as one of the representative figures of Chinese contemporary music, has brought important inspirations to the development of Chinese music. With bold and free conceptions, innovative personality, unique Chinese tradition and international perspective. With a spirit of breaking down the barriers between tradition and modernity, East and West, and a concept of integrating multiple cultures into one, he has become a unique figure in the world of music. As researchers in composition, not only do we take on the responsibility of passing on Chinese culture, but we also need to explore the future development direction of Chinese music. Therefore, this paper takes Tan Dun's four traditional musical elements of organic music, Buddhist culture, witchcraft beliefs, folk songs and opera in his works and examines how Tan Dun perfectly blends traditional Chinese music culture with contemporary music language. And explore how the domestic traditional culture co-exists with modernity in today's diverse world.

This study aims to classify and examine Changjak Gukak composed by composers who majored in Western music and help the composers with the composition of Changjak Gukak. As a result, it was investigated that Korean traditional musical elements have been used on the basis of the traditional or modern Western composition technique. The traditional composition techniques such as motive, theme, keys, homophony, contrapuntal methods, fugue form, sonata form, baroque concerto form and borrowing of Western art works have been used, and the contemporary composition techniques such as timber melody, a-tonality, irregular meter, poly rhythm and aleatory have been used. In addition, it reflects the Korean expression and identity by applying the Korean traditional instruments, Sigimsae, Jangdan, traditional scale and mode, form and melody.

Objectives : This study was performed to report the effect of music-listening intervention and relaxation for somatoform disorder. Methods : A 51 year-old female patient suffered from several somatic symptoms without identifiable physical cause. We saw her symptoms were related to her psychological factors. We applied music-listening intervention and relaxation besides Korean traditional medical treatment to make her be aware of her psychological condition such as inner conflict and know symptoms are related to her psychological condition. Results : After the music-listening intervention and relaxation, the patient revealed her unrecognized hidden feelings and emotions and got some insights about herself. Then somatic symptoms such as dysesthesia and urinary frequency and anxiety were decreased considerably. Conclusions : These results suggest that the music-listening intervention and relaxation can be effective on improvement of soma to form disorder.

A model for teaching traditional Korean rhythmic patterns using Orff's ear training approach was developed and implemented with aim that it could be used as basic data for the operation of Korean music education. Children's rhythmic sense improved through teaching of sound searching, body rhythm, playing instruments, and improvising. Teaching the order of connective rhythmic patterns and a basic patterns-centered approach was more effective than teaching modified rhythmic patterns. With ear training, children perceived the stress of rhythmic patterns in advance and they perceived the length of sound. These results show that this model can be used as a basic approach in the operation of Korean music education.

Drum Set are representative instruments that use grips in modern popular music. Depending on how and how clearly you hold the basic grip, it also affects your performance ability. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses of each grip, derive the resulting complex effects, and present practical application plans to the drummers. The research method is largely divided into traditional and matched grips, and in detail, German, American, French, and hybrid styles are included to analyze the performance method utilized. It also refers to the grip method of all drummers from the 1930s to the present, which was registered in Drummer World, an overseas drum site. This study proposed several application plans by classifying and analyzing the most basic grip methods in drum set in detail. I was able to see that the performance impact was different depending on the grip, and I think it will be more helpful for future performances if I understand both the positive and adverse functions of each grip and play it.

Recent popular music is made in an easy, simple, and repetitive style for the audience. German drummer Anika Niles, has creatively expressed her music and performance using Quintuplet, Septuplet, and Nonuplet that are not often used in music, different from traditional music styles. The purpose of this study is to analyze the use of tuplet used by Anika Nilles and derive the effect accordingly to present the possibility of development in future music. The research method analyzes the techniques used by dividing the consecutive notes into three main categories: five, seven, and nine. This study classified and analyzed her performance techniques using tuplet that are not usually used in music and presented various applications. Anika Nilles expressed the characteristics of tuplet and played them accordingly, and the fact that there are various methods of application showed that her performance technique using them was of sufficient research value.

This study aimed to review Korean-written and English-written studies on music intervention for older adults in terms of research variables and type of music application. Electronic databases and music-related journals were searched and a total of 40 studies, 19 Korean-written and 21 English-written studies, were included for analysis. The results showed that music intervention studies for older adults began to be conducted in Korea in the late 1990s and have continuously increased thus far, which is similar to studies overseas. Emotional area, especially depression, was targeted the most frequently in both studies in Korea and overseas. While singing of traditional folk song or popular music were applied the most in Korean studies, listening to classical music or relaxing music was primarily observed in studies overseas. While both studies in Korea and overseas used original music frequently, Korean-written studies used live music and showed tendency to select music based on preferences of participants more than studies overseas. These results indicate that growing population of older adults and increased needs for successful aging have been sufficiently reflected in studies on music-based intervention. Cultural and societal factors might affect the differences between studies in Korea and studies overseas. Future studies on music intervention considering cultural and societal needs of this population from multidimensional approach were also suggested.

The diagnosis of motor failures using an on-line method has been the aim of many researchers and studies. Several spectral analysis techniques have been developed and are used to facilitate on-line diagnosis methods in industry. This paper discusses the first application of a motor flux spectral analysis to the identification of broken rotor bar (BRB) faults in induction motors using a multiple signal classification (MUSIC) technique as an on-line diagnosis method. The proposed method measures the leakage flux in the radial direction using a radial flux sensor which is designed as a search coil and is installed between stator slots. The MUSIC technique, which requires fewer number of data samples and has a higher detection accuracy than the traditional fast Fourier transform (FFT) method, then calculates the motor load condition and extracts any abnormal signals related to motor failures in order to identify BRB faults. Experimental results clearly demonstrate that the proposed method is a promising candidate for an on-line diagnosis method to detect motor failures.

TIn the study of Yangseng(養生) and Relaxation therapy, the results were as follows : According to the traditonal oriental medical theory, Oriental medicine focused on Yangseng(養生). Especially vital-energy is able to resist the disease and adapt to the environment and assist the healing of the body. Relaxation theraphy is a kind of Qigong. And it is not only breathe, but also accumulate the vital energy in the body, Which is also called "genuine qi(眞氣)" or "internal qi(內氣)." The therapy is based on controlling of Sprit(神), Breathing(呼吸), Mind(心). And it is in harmony with Qi-circulation(氣-循環), so smoothing the circulation of meridians, strengthened Essential-material(精), Qi(氣), Sprit(神). The Relaxation theraphy made the body and mind relaxed, and it is helpful of preventation of disease and mental health. And it treats neurosis, somatoform disease, it uses main or helpful therapy of various disease, elevates health mental concentration. And it is more effective by application of music, aroma, taping, psycho-therapy.
