  • Announcement protocol in Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is an intelligent application to enhance public safety, alleviate traffic jams and improve transportation quality. It requires communication between vehicles, roadside units and pedestrian to disseminate safety-related messages. However, as vehicles connected to internet, it makes them accessible globally to a potential adversary. Safety-related application requires a message to be reliable, however it may intrude the privacy of a vehicle. Contrarily, if some misbehaviour emerges, the malicious vehicles must be able to traceable and revoke from the network. This is a contradiction between privacy and accountability since the privacy of a user should be preserved. For a secure communication among intelligent entities, we propose a novel announcement protocol in IoV using group signature. To the best of our knowledge, our work is the first comprehensive construction of an announcement protocol in IoV that deploys group signature. We show that our protocol efficiently solves these conflicting security requirements of message reliability, privacy and accountability using 5G communication channel. The performance analysis and simulation results signify our work achieves performance efficiency in IoV communication.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the sanitation knowledge level in culinary employees for institutional food service and to examine influential relationship of their sanitation knowledge upon sanitation management performance, in order to qualitatively enhance sanitation and food safety in institutional food service. In addition, it was to examine the moderating effect of necessity, understanding, satisfaction, and application levels of sanitation education in the relationship between sanitation knowledge and sanitation management performance. 100 copies of questionnaire were widely distributed to 36 institutional food service centers(middle-high schools, universities, enterprises, and hospitals) in the Daegu Gyeongbuk areas. Among them, 361 copies were used for the final analysis. As a result, the sanitation knowledge of culinary employees was indicated to be the highest in individual sanitation knowledge. A significant relationship was shown between sanitation knowledge and sanitation management performance. Also, a positive moderating effect was indicated in the necessity of sanitation education considering individual sanitation knowledge and sanitation management performance. However, understanding, satisfaction, and application levels of sanitation education didn't show significant moderating effect. Nevertheless, four moderating variables show significant moderating effect in the influence of food storage knowledge, food handling knowledge and utensils and tools knowledge except for individual sanitation knowledge on sanitation management performance.

  • Flammable substances are frequently used chemical industry processes. An accurate knowledge of the ALTs(Autoignition Temperatures) is important in developing appropriate prevention and control measures in industrial fire protection. The AITs describe the minimum temperature to which a substance must be heated, without the application of a flame or spark, which will cause that substance to ignite. The AITs are dependent upon many factors, namely initial temperature, pressure, volume, fuel/air stoichiometry, catalyst material, concentration of vapor, ignition delay. This study measured relationship between the AITs and the ignition delay times by using ASTM E659-78 apparatus for methanol and ethanol. The A.A.P.E.(Average Absolute Percent Error) and the A.A.D.(Average Absolute Deviation) of the experimental and the calculated delay times by the AITs for methanol were 14.59 and 1.76 respectively. Also the A.A.P.E. and the A.A.D. of the experimental and the calculated delay times by the ATIs for ethanol were 8.33 and 0.88.

  • In respect of the existing relation between Sea-going Vessels and Vessels at anchor, Korean Maritime Safety Tribunal has applied 'Ordinary Practice of Seamen' that is regulated by the article No. 2 of COLREG. That is, general navigation rule is not applied between the two vessels, and the action to avoid collision of vessels by utilizing experience knowledge of the seamen. However, the content of the Ordinary Practice of Seamen included in the revised plan in the process of 2011 "Maritime affairs Safety Act" revision was deleted in the screening of the Office of Legislation due to the reason that it could not specified when the content of deed is not concertized. Furthermore, prior application regulation of international treaty included in the existing "Sea Traffic Safety Act"(Article 5) was deleted in the screening of the National Assembly. So, doubt about whether the Ordinary Practice of Seamen could be continuously applied according to the regulation of the international treaty, nevertheless not specified in domestic law, has been continuously raised. In this situation, recently Central Maritime Safety Tribunal changed precedent by applying of Article 96(3) of Maritime Safety Act without applying Ordinary Practice of Seamen in the Case No. 2015-001. Accordingly, this study intended to review propriety of precedent change and legal issue with the decision of Central Maritime Safety Tribunal excluding Ordinary Practice of Seamen for a collision between Sea-going Vessels and Vessels at anchor.

  • The preconditions of the usefulness of an operator safety training model in large plants are the versatility and accuracy of operational procedures, obtained by detailed analysis of the various types of risks associated with the operation, and the systematic representation of knowledge. In this study, we consider the artificial intelligence planning method for the generation of operation procedures; classify them into general actions, actions and technical terms of the operator; and take into account the sharing and reuse of knowledge, defining a knowledge expression ontology. In order to expand and extend the general operations of the operation, we apply a Hierarchical Task Network (HTN). Actual boiler plant case studies are classified according to operating conditions, states and operating objectives between the units, and general emergency shutdown procedures are created to confirm the applicability of the proposed method. These results based on systematic knowledge representation can be easily applied to general plant operation procedures and operator safety training scenarios and will be used for automatic generation of safety training scenarios.

  • Consumers and industry experts frequently have negative perceptions of most chemical preservatives. Although most people concede that they cannot resolve global food waste issues without preservatives, they prefer products without chemical preservatives. Numerous emerging technologies is now surpassing conventional methods for mitigating microbial food deterioration in response to consumer demand and fundamental health and safety considerations, including biological antimicrobial systems such as using food-grade microorganisms and their metabolites primarily originating from microorganisms, plants, and animals. Microbial compounds, including bacteriocins, bacteriophages, and anti-fungal agents, plant extracts such as flavonoids and essential oils; and animal-originated compounds, such as lysozyme, chitosan, and lactoferrin, are considered some of the major bio-preservatives. These natural compounds can be used alone or with other preservatives to improve food safety. Hence, the use of microbes or their metabolic byproducts to extend the shelf life of foods while maintaining safety standards is known as bio-preservation. To manufacture and consume foods in a safe condition, this review primarily aims to broaden knowledge amongst industry professionals and consumers regarding bio-preservation techniques, bio-preservatives, their classifications, and distinctive mechanisms to enhance food safety.

Based on IEC 60601-1:2012/AMD2:2020 (Medical Electrical Equipment - General requirements for basic safety and essential performance of medical electrical equipment), IEC 62366-1:2015/AMD1:2020 (Medical devices - Part 1: Application of usability engineering to medical devices) and EN ISO 14971:2019 (Medical devices - Application of risk management to medical devices), the requirements for ensuring the safety and essential performance of the Lower Extremity robotic assisted gait training system were derived. Through the Delphi survey method and scenario analysis, which reflects the opinions and knowledge of experts in the fields of development, testing and review of technical documents, and quality assurance of medical devices, validity and reliability were conducted and obtained results with adequate content validity ratio (CVR; 0.7≤) and excellent reliability (Cronbach's α; 0.9≤). As a result, it was confirmed that the reliability and validity of the risk management process to ensure the safety and essential performance of the Lower Extremity robotic assisted gait training system are required a model can be established to provide measures to reduce risks according to the level of risk exposure caused by usage.
