XRD studies on annealed Na-feldspar (Amelia albite) at $1100^{\circ}C$ showed rapid structural changes due to Si-Al disordering, which resulted in phase transformations from low albite to high albite by 4-days annealing test. TEM SAED analyses on the annealed samples revealed a trend of structural changes, but estimation of the structural state was difficult due to a large deviation of the SAED data. Optimum conditions of CBED analyses on albite was established by employing a cooling specimen holder, 120 kV of acceleration voltage, 37 Jim of condenser aperture size and 25 nm of spot size. A proper orientation showing distinct changes of HOLZ lines corresponding to the structure changes of albite turned out to be close to the [418] direction with $-1.2^{\circ}$ tilting, where the width of two HOLZ lines in low albite was opposite to those in high albite.

A focusing grating coupler (FGC) was not fabricated by the 'Continuous Path Control'writing strategy but by an electron-beam lithography system of more general exposure mode, which matches not only the address grid with the grating period but also an integer multiple of the address grid resolution (5 nm). To more simplify the fabrication, we are able to reduce a process step without large decrease of pattern quality by excluding a conducting material or layer such as metal (Al, Cr, Au), which are deposited on top or bottom of an e-beam resist to prevent charge build-up during e-beam exposure. A grating pitch period and an aperture feature size of the FGC designed and fabricated by e-beam lithography and reactive ion etching were ranged over 384.3 nm to 448.2 nm, and 0.5 $\times$ 0.5 mm$^2$area, respectively. This fabrication method presented will reduce processing time and improve the grating quality by means of a consideration of the address grid resolution, grating direction, pitch size and shapes when exposing. Here our investigations concentrate on the design and efficient fabrication results of the FGC for coupling from slab waveguide to a spot in free space.

Objectives : We tried to establish standards for genuine by discriminating 3 kinds of pollen and spore herbs that are highly to be mixed with each other. Using an scanning electron microscope, we prepare a standard for discriminating external morphological characters of minute herbs, thereby contributing to the stable supply of genuine herbal medicines. Methods : Standard samples were confirmed by literature review on external morphological characteristics of original plants and herbal medicines, and collection and identification of original plants. The herbal medicines on the market were purchased and classified with using naked eye observation and magnifier. Finally, micromorphological identifications were conducted using an scanning electron microscope. Results : 1. Pini Pollen was clearly distinguished by its relatively medium size and a pollen grain with two swollen reticulate sacci at both ends. The verrucate ornamentation on the exine surface of the corpus and a sunken leptoma germ pore may be used as a discrimination criteria. 2. Typhae Pollen was distinguished by its relatively small size and a saccus on the end of a pollen grain. Reticulate ornamentation of exine surface of the corpus, and a slightly clear ulcerate germ pore can be used as a discrimination criteria. 3. Lygodii Spora was distinguished by its relatively large triangular-ovate shape and trichotomous fissure. Verrucate-tuberculate ornamentation of exine surface and trilete aperture could be used as a discrimination criteria. Conclusion : These results indicate that the use of electron microscopy is very effective for discriminating the external morphology of minute herbal medicines.
Demand for small biomimetic robots that can carry out reconnaissance missions without being exposed to the enemy in underground spaces and narrow passages is increasing in order to increase the fighting power and survivability of soldiers in wartime situations. A small compound eye image sensor for environmental recognition has advantages such as small size, low aberration, wide angle of view, depth estimation, and HDR that can be used in various ways in the field of vision. However, due to the small lens size, the resolution is low, and the problem of resolution in the fused image obtained from the actual compound eye image occurs. This paper proposes a compound eye image quality enhancement algorithm based on Image Enhancement and ESRGAN to overcome the problem of low resolution. If the proposed algorithm is applied to compound eye image fusion images, image resolution and image quality can be improved, so it is expected that performance improvement results can be obtained in various studies using compound eye cameras.

In this paper, a novel planar spiral antenna of multi-tabs is proposed for wireless power transmission system based on low frequency magnetic inductive coupling. The proposed antenna has higher transmission efficiency than conventional antennas such a rectangular spiral antenna and a spiral antenna. Also, it has a useful property of uniform power transmission in the region of the antenna aperture. For verification, a transmitting antenna and a receiving one for a wireless power transmission system using magnetic inductive coupling of 132 kHz low frequency are designed and tested. The transmitting antenna has three-tabs spiral of unequal-space for higher uniform magnetic coupling in the antenna aperture. For reducing the receiving antenna size, two receiving antennas of unequal space two-tabs on one-side and series double sides as well are designed, respectively. From measurement, transmission efficiency of the proposed antennas is improved up to $3{\sim}10$ dB compared to conventional antennas.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is developing the 2.6 ${\times}$ optical scope with a Abbe-K$\ddot{o}$nig prism. Methods: First, considering the size of the effective aperture and the focal length of the objective lens, we designed an Abbe-K$\ddot{o}$nig prism. Next, we calculated the optical and geometric distances of Abbe-K$\ddot{o}$nig prism designed in this way. After allocating the focal length of the objective lens and the eyepiece lens so as to satisfy the magnification and optical effective distance of the entire system by using this calculation result, we completed the entire system by optimizing this optical system. Results: We were able to complete the optical scope of about 2.6 ${\times}$ magnification by designing an objective lens with a focal length of 63.13 mm which was composed of two pieces, an eyepiece with a focal length of 24.3 mm which was composed of four pieces, and an Abbe-K$\ddot{o}$nig prism with a face length 11.5 mm. Conclusions: We designed and fabricated an optical scope with 2.6 ${\times}$ magnification employing an Abbe-K$\ddot{o}$nig prism. Then, this system became the compacted optical system with a barrel diameter of 31 mm, characterized by an effective aperture of 12.0 mm and an effective optical barrel length of 103 mm and a resolution of 200 cycles/rad at 50% MTF criterion within the half viewing field angle of $6.42^{\circ}$.
Continuous monitoring and immediate response is essential to protect the national maritime territory and maritime resources from the activities of illegal ships. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images with a wide range of images are effective for maritime surveillance asthe weather and day-night conditions rarely affect to image acquisition. However, an effective ship detection is not easy due to the huge data size of SAR images and various characteristics such as the speckle noise. In this study, the Human Visual Attention System (HVAS) algorithm was applied to KOMPSAT-5 to extract the initial targets, and the SAR-Split algorithm depending on the imaging modes was used to remove false alarms. The detected targets were finally selected by the Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) algorithm and matched with the ship's Automatic Identification System (AIS) information. Overall, the detected targets were well matched with AIS data, but some false alarms by ship wakes were observed. The detection rate was about 80% in ES mode and about 64% in ST mode. It is expected that the developed ship detection algorithm will contribute to the construction of a wide area maritime surveillance network.

This paper presents an algorithm for retrieving precise radar cross sections(RCS) of various trihedral corner reflectors (TCR) which are external calibrators of synthetic aperture radar(SAR) systems. The theoretical RCSs of the TCRs are computed based on the physical optics(PO), geometrical optics(GO), and physical theory of diffraction(PTD) techniques; that is, the RCS computation includes the single reflections(PO), double reflections(GO-PO), triple reflections(GO-GO-PO), and edge diffractions(PTD) from the TCR. At first, we acquire an SAR image of the area that five TCRs installed in, and then extract the RCS of the TCRs. The RCSs of the TCRs are extracted accurately from the SAR image by adding up the power spill, which is generated due to the radar IRF(Impulse Response Function), using a square window. We compare the extracted RCSs with the theoretical RCSs and analyze the difference between the theoretical and experimental RCSs of the TCR for various window sizes and various backscattering coefficient levels of the adjacent area. Finally, we propose the minimum size of the integration area and the maximum level of the backscattering coefficients for the adjacent area.

The most important industrial application of gamma radiation in characterizing green compacts is the determination of the density. Examples are given where this method is applied in manufacturing technical components in powder metallurgy. The requirements imposed by modern quality management systems and operation by the workforce in industrial production are described. The accuracy of measurement achieved with this method is demonstrated and a comparison is given with other test methods to measure the density. The advantages and limitations of gamma ray densitometry are outlined. The gamma ray densitometer measures the attenuation of gamma radiation penetrating the test parts (Fig. 1). As the capability of compacts to absorb this type of radiation depends on their density, the attenuation of gamma radiation can serve as a measure of the density. The volume of the part being tested is defined by the size of the aperture screeniing out the radiation. It is a channel with the cross section of the aperture whose length is the height of the test part. The intensity of the radiation identified by the detector is the quantity used to determine the material density. Gamma ray densitometry can equally be performed on green compacts as well as on sintered components. Neither special preparation of test parts nor skilled personnel is required to perform the measurement; neither liquids nor other harmful substances are involved. When parts are exhibiting local density variations, which is normally the case in powder compaction, sectional densities can be determined in different parts of the sample without cutting it into pieces. The test is non-destructive, i.e. the parts can still be used after the measurement and do not have to be scrapped. The measurement is controlled by a special PC based software. All results are available for further processing by in-house quality documentation and supervision of measurements. Tool setting for multi-level components can be much improved by using this test method. When a densitometer is installed on the press shop floor, it can be operated by the tool setter himself. Then he can return to the press and immediately implement the corrections. Transfer of sample parts to the lab for density testing can be eliminated and results for the correction of tool settings are more readily available. This helps to reduce the time required for tool setting and clearly improves the productivity of powder presses. The range of materials where this method can be successfully applied covers almost the entire periodic system of the elements. It reaches from the light elements such as graphite via light metals (AI, Mg, Li, Ti) and their alloys, ceramics ($AI_20_3$, SiC, Si_3N_4, $Zr0_2$, ...), magnetic materials (hard and soft ferrites, AlNiCo, Nd-Fe-B, ...), metals including iron and alloy steels, Cu, Ni and Co based alloys to refractory and heavy metals (W, Mo, ...) as well as hardmetals. The gamma radiation required for the measurement is generated by radioactive sources which are produced by nuclear technology. These nuclear materials are safely encapsulated in stainless steel capsules so that no radioactive material can escape from the protective shielding container. The gamma ray densitometer is subject to the strict regulations for the use of radioactive materials. The radiation shield is so effective that there is no elevation of the natural radiation level outside the instrument. Personal dosimetry by the operating personnel is not required. Even in case of malfunction, loss of power and incorrect operation, the escape of gamma radiation from the instrument is positively prevented.
Microstomia can be occurred as a result of direct injury to tissues such as chemical, thermal and electrical burns, and animal bites. It also may be secondary to contracture of burned perioral skin, or may result from scarring after reconstructive lip surgery. Narrowing of the oral aperture is not only disfiguring, but also limiting the oral access needed for introduction of food, insertion of dentures, oral hygiene, and dental treatment. Limited mouth opening may also interfere with mastication and speech. Few reports exist regarding correction of microstomia and reconstruction of the corners of the mouth. A 16-year-old girl with a bilateral cleft lip and palate presented with the limited mouth opening (approximately 20 mm), the esthetic problem due to the small lip, and the cleft lip-nasal deformity. The microstomia was corrected by bilateral commissuroplasty using "over and out" buccal mucosa flaps proposed by Converse. The intercommissure distance was increased from the preoperative 40 mm to the postoperative 60 mm. The one-year postoperative intercommissure distance was 54 mm, because the 6 mm relapse was occurred. The bilateral commissuroplasty using "over and out" buccal mucosa flap could increase the width and general size of the oral aperture and improve the lip appearance.
