It is needed to develop an antenna with features of subminiature, light weight and multi-band operation for the variaty services in maritime and industrial fields. The PCB pattern antenna is one of the appropreiate antennas solving these requirements. In this research, the design and fabrication of the PCB pattern antenna operating on the single band of 920 MHz are investigated. The final goal is that the development of the dual band PCB pattern antenna operating on 260 MHz and 920 MHz, which is based on the proposed antenna. It is evident that the performance in the frequencies of 902 MHz, 915 MHz and 928 MHz among of 920 MHz ISM band is better than that in other frequencies. It is also confirmed that the differences of the voltage standing wave ratio, return loss, gain and efficiency between three frequencies are less than 5%. It is expected that the development of communication link of 5-10 km is possible when the induced results are applied into the low power wide area (LPWA) network desinged by the rule of -30 dB sensitivity.

In this paper, the radiation characteristics of a Circular Loop Antenna is studied in a moving homogeneous, isotropic and linear media with a constant velocity much less than the speed of light. In Stuffing the radiation characteristics, Srst vector potential on the loop antenna is derived in the moving media by appling Maxwell-Minkowaski's theory. Next, using the derived relations, the electric and magnetic Seld is calculated for the spec-i Sed wave length ana velocity of the media. The Seld patterns in the moving media are compared with those of stationary media. We find that the intensity of the field is reduced in the direction of the media velocity and increased in the opposite direction only for the component parallel with the plane of the antenna. The deviation from the stationary media is proportional to the velocity of the media and the frequency of source current.

The global positioning system (GPS) is a useful system in civilian and military applications. However, because of the weak signal, GPS receivers are vulnerable to interference caused by unwanted signals or intentional jammers. To alleviate this issue, a controlled reception pattern antenna (CRPA) array can be employed to adaptively place radiation pattern nulls toward the direction of the signal interference. The performance of the CRPA array improves as the number of antenna elements increases. Therefore, antenna miniaturization is highly desirable for CRPA applications. We designed a compact CRPA array based on seven electrically miniaturized microstrip patch antennas (MPAs) on a 5-inch ground platform. We used a non-Foster matching circuit to match efficiently miniaturized MPAs on an FR-4 substrate. Experimental results show that the non-Foster matching circuit significantly improves such elements of antenna performance as return loss and antenna gain. In addition, we confirmed that the mutual coupling of the proposed CRPA array is less than -45 dB.

In this paper, an planar antenna which has omnidirectional radiation pattern in H-plane and low profile is proposed. By adding inductance elements of an ENG shell structure, a capacitance element of an electrically small antenna is easily achieved with impedance matching. An ENG shell structure is consist of a inductive loading structure which has symmetrical four stepped L-shape slots. The simulated result shows, the impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 150MHz (2.5 ~ 2.65GHz). The simulated maximum radiation gain of proposed antenna is 1.12 dBi at center frequency 2.56GHz. Omnidirectional radiation pattern is achieved. The proposed antenna will be applied to wireless lan access point system.

This paper proposes the compensation method which decreases the radiation pattern distortion caused by the mutual coupling in an array antenna. If the element distance of an array antenna decreases, the radiation pattern could be distorted by the strong mutual coupling, which changes the magnitude and phase of input signals and causes an unwanted radiation pattern. To remove the pattern distortion, compensated input signals are inserted in an array antenna. The magnitude and phase of input signals are determined by Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. A $4{\times}1$ dipole array antenna with omnidirectional elements is used to confirm the validity of the algorithm, where each element is placed in 0.2 wavelength to evoke the strong coupling. After input signals are optimized by PSO, it is found that the compensated radiation results in the same as the ideal case.

X-Band taper slot-typed active phased array antenna is studied and designed. Through the simulated and measured performances, it is confirmed that both of active reflection coefficient and active radiation pattern of the designed phased array antenna are agreed well with those of the prototype manufactured one. From this study, the proposed antenna structure is matched to the design target of characteristics of antenna's broadband beam.
A slot antenna with bazooka balun is designed and implemented for PCS repeater. The proposed antenna improved the return loss and radiation pattern of the slot antenna as combining with the bazooka balun. The antenna was designed by using 3D simulations program, MWS (Microwave Studio). The test result of the slot antenna shows that the return loss is under -10 [dB] for all frequency bands of interests in PCS and maximum gain is about 5.59 [dBi]. And the antenna also shows omni-directional radiation pattern.

The TC&R(Telemetry, Command & Ranging) antennas should have the hemispherical omni antenna patterns to make sure that the communication link between the satellite and the ground station can be established under whatever satellite attitude during after launch to on-orbit mission. The hemispherical omni-antennas are typically placed on the +z axis and -z axis of the satellite to provide the spherical omni patterns. The S-band qaudrifilar helix antennas having RHCP and LHCP hemispherical omni pattern are designed to meet the antenna gain and the axial ratio requirements. To investigate the omni-antenna pattern characteristics depending on four cases of antenna polarization combination placed on the +z axis and -z axis, the antenna pattern of each case is analyzed. Based on the result, after installing the designed RHCP and LHCP S-band omni-antennas on the +z axis and -z axis of the satellite, the combined antenna gain is obtained and finally analyzed in conjunction with the communication link influence.

There have been many researches on the antenna performance degradation with the presence of the human body around the antenna structure to accomodate personal communication service [1][2]. To better understand the human body effects on the antenna resonance, radiation pattern, and input impedance, simulation was carried out with changing of the distance between antenna and lossy material. Effects on the antenna performance by the surrounding materials are also important in the case of the RFID system. It is desirable that the tag antennas for RFID system must reveal isotropic radiation pattern as well as attain the good impedance matching. In this paper, we investigated the antenna resonance and input impedance characteristic when there exist a lossy material sphere near various types of antenna at 900 MHz. In short antenna resonance was mostly affected by lossy material in the case of a rectangular loop antenna, and impedance variation was smallest in the case of a halfwave dipole.

In this paper, a monopole antenna of conical-cylindrical compound shape is presented. The conventional circular conical monopole antenna is modified by placing a cylinder at the top of the inverted cone. The cylindrical portion is useful in the wide band impedance matching, in adjusting the antenna gain in the horizontal direction, and in reducing the cone diameter. The dependence of the antenna performance on various geometric parameters is investigated using a commercial electromagnetic simulation software, from which an optimum design of the antenna is derived. The diameter of the circular ground plane is minimized to 115 wavelength at the lowest operating frequency. The antenna proposed in this study shows a reflection coefficient less than -10 dB and a 1${\sim}$6 dBi gain over 3${\sim}$20 GHz frequencies. The antenna shows a circular-symmetric radiation pattern in the horizontal plane and a null-free pattern in the vertical direction over the whole operating frequency range.
