The cathode voltage of aluminum electrolytic cell is relatively stable under normal conditions and fluctuates greatly when it has an anomaly. In order to detect the abnormal range of cathode voltage, an anomaly detection algorithm based on sliding window was proposed. The algorithm combines the time series segmentation linear representation method and the k-nearest neighbor local anomaly detection algorithm, which is more efficient than the direct detection of the original sequence. The algorithm first segments the cathode voltage time series, then calculates the length, the slope, and the mean of each line segment pattern, and maps them into a set of spatial objects. And then the local anomaly detection algorithm is used to detect abnormal patterns according to the local anomaly factor and the pattern length. The experimental results showed that the algorithm can effectively detect the abnormal range of cathode voltage.
Human error (HE) is an important concern in safety-critical systems such as nuclear power plants (NPPs). HE has played a role in many accidents and outage incidents in NPPs. Despite the increased automation in NPPs, HE remains unavoidable. Hence, the need for HE detection is as important as HE prevention efforts. In NPPs, HE is rather rare. Hence, anomaly detection, a widely used machine learning technique for detecting rare anomalous instances, can be repurposed to detect potential HE. In this study, we develop an unsupervised anomaly detection technique based on generative adversarial networks (GANs) to detect anomalies in manually collected surveillance data in NPPs. More specifically, our GAN is trained to detect mismatches between automatically recorded sensor data and manually collected surveillance data, and hence, identify anomalous instances that can be attributed to HE. We test our GAN on both a real-world dataset and an external dataset obtained from a testbed, and we benchmark our results against state-of-the-art unsupervised anomaly detection algorithms, including one-class support vector machine and isolation forest. Our results show that the proposed GAN provides improved anomaly detection performance. Our study is promising for the future development of artificial intelligence based HE detection systems.
Localized atmospheric conditions between multi-reference stations can bring the tropospheric delay irregularity that becomes an error terms affecting positioning accuracy in network RTK environment. Imbalanced network error can affect the network solutions and it can corrupt the entire network solution and degrade the correction accuracy. If an anomaly could be detected before the correction message was generated, it is possible to eliminate the anomalous satellite that can cause degradation of the network solution during the tropospheric delay anomaly. An atmospheric grid that consists of four meteorological stations was used to detect an inhomogeneous weather conditions and tropospheric anomaly applied AWSs (automatic weather stations) meteorological data. The threshold of anomaly detection algorithm was determined based on the statistical weather data of AWSs for 5 years in an atmospheric grid. From the analytic results of anomaly detection algorithm it showed that the proposed algorithm can detect an anomalous satellite with an anomaly flag generation caused tropospheric delay anomaly during localized atmospheric conditions between stations. It was shown that the different precipitation condition between stations is the main factor affecting tropospheric anomalies.

The aging society increases emergency situations of the elderly living alone and a variety of social crimes. In order to prevent them, techniques to detect emergency situations through voice are actively researched. This study proposes CutPaste-based anomaly detection model using multi-scale feature extraction in time series streaming data. In the proposed method, an audio file is converted into a spectrogram. In this way, it is possible to use an algorithm for image data, such as CNN. After that, mutli-scale feature extraction is applied. Three images drawn from Adaptive Pooling layer that has different-sized kernels are merged. In consideration of various types of anomaly, including point anomaly, contextual anomaly, and collective anomaly, the limitations of a conventional anomaly model are improved. Finally, CutPaste-based anomaly detection is conducted. Since the model is trained through self-supervised learning, it is possible to detect a diversity of emergency situations as anomaly without labeling. Therefore, the proposed model overcomes the limitations of a conventional model that classifies only labelled emergency situations. Also, the proposed model is evaluated to have better performance than a conventional anomaly detection model.
In today's system operation, it is difficult to detect failures and take immediate action in the case of a shortage of manpower compared to the number of equipment or failures in vulnerable time zones, which can lead to delays in failure recovery. In addition, various algorithms exist to detect abnormal symptom data, and it is important to select an appropriate algorithm for each problem. In this paper, an ensemble-based isolation forest model was used to efficiently detect multivariate point anomalies that deviated from the mean distribution in the data set generated to predict system failure and minimize service interruption. And since significant changes in memory space usage are observed together with changes in CPU usage, the problem is solved by using LSTM-Auto Encoder for a collective anomaly in which another feature exhibits an abnormal pattern according to a change in one by comparing two or more features. did In addition, evaluation indicators are set for the performance evaluation of the model presented in this study, and then AI model evaluation is performed.
Radio waves including GPS signals, various TV communications, and radio broadcasting can be disturbed by a strong solar storm, which may occur due to solar flares and produce an ionospheric delay anomaly in the ionosphere according to the change of total electron content. Electron density irregularities can cause deep signal fading, frequently known as ionospheric scintillation, which can result in the positioning error using GPS signal. This paper proposes a detection algorithm for the ionosphere delay anomaly during a solar storm by using multi-reference stations. Different TEC grid which has irregular electron density was applied above one reference station. Then the ionospheric delay in zenith direction applied different TEC will show comparatively large ionospheric zenith delay due to the electron irregularity. The ionospheric slant delay applied an elevation angle at reference station was analyzed to detect the ionospheric delay anomaly that can result in positioning error. A simulation test was implemented and a proposed detection algorithm using data logged by four reference stations was applied to detect the ionospheric delay anomaly compared to a criterion.

본 논문에서는 로그 데이터를 활용한 예외적인 형태의 프로세스 인스턴스를 판별하는 방법으로 LAPID(Local Anomaly Process Instance Detection)를 제안한다. Anomaly detection systems playa significant role in protection mechanism against attacks launched on a network. The greatest challenge in designing systems detecting anomalous exploits is defining what to measure. Effective yet simple, Shannon entropy metrics have been successfully used to detect specific types of malicious traffic in a number of commercially available IDS's. We believe that Renyi entropy measures can also adequately describe the characteristics of a network as a whole as well as detect abnormal traces in the observed traffic. In addition, Renyi entropy metrics might boost sensitivity of the methods when disambiguating certain anomalous patterns. In this paper we describe our efforts to understand how Renyi mutual information can be applied to anomaly detection as an offline computation. An initial analysis has been performed to determine how well fast spreading worms (Slammer, Code Red, and Welchia) can be detected using our technique. We use both synthetic and real data audits to illustrate the potentials of our method and provide a tentative explanation of the results.
This paper addresses the problem of vision-based mask filter inspection for mask production systems. Machine learning-based approaches can be considered to solve the problem, but they may not be applicable to mask filter inspection if normal and anomaly mask filter data are not sufficient. In such cases, handcrafted image processing methods have to be considered to solve the problem. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical correlation-based approach that combines handcrafted image processing methods to detect anomaly mask filters. The proposed approach combines image rotation, cropping and resizing, edge detection of mask filter parts, average blurring, and correlation-based decision. The proposed approach was tested and analyzed with real mask filters. The results showed that the proposed approach was able to successfully detect anomalies in mask filters.
