  • This is the research to find out which one is the best for using manual among the 3 kinds of methods such as 'Text manual' and 'Animation I' and 'Animation II' which is made by Virtual Realities. Three kinds of methods have been experimented respectively. The manual for 'Animation I' adopt the motion video with basis sound and the additional comment and sound is added on the 'Animation II'. Every 3 manual has been studied and estimated by T-test and additional subjective estimation respectively, and the conclusions are as follows. The 1st answer is that 'Animation manual' is more easier than 'text manual', and the 2nd answer is that 'Animation II' is easier than 'Animation I'. Through post-interview and test, It is known that the animation manuals, which has been showing the multimedia, is more attractive than text manual.

  • Authoring tools for sketching the motion of characters to be animated have been studied. However the natural interface for sound editing has not been sufficiently studied. In this paper, I present a novel method that sound sample is selected by speaking sound-imitation words(onomatopoeia). Experiment with the method based on statistical models, which is generally used for pattern recognition, showed up to 97% in the accuracy of recognition. In addition, to address the difficulty of data collection for newly enrolled sound samples, the GLR Test based on only one sample of each sound-imitation word showed almost the same accuracy as the previous method.

  • In this study, the relationship of images and sounds of the animations "Dots" and "Loops" which Norman McLaren animated with his Animated sound technique when he worked at Guggenheim museum at New York, are analyzed through the audiovisual analysis theory by Michel Chion, and through the theory of synchronism/asynchronism and parallelism/counterpoint by Siegfried Kracauer. For the results of the analysis, there are a few difference between "Dots" and "Loops" regarding the aspect of sound arrangement and expressive aspect of abstract animation. However, there are being of two main elements of sound, composing with monophony sound, making musical structure with sound effects, and the emphasizing of parallelism with synchronization bewteen images and sounds in common with both "Dots" and "Loops". In "Dots" and "Loops", there are close correlations between pitch of sound and arrangement/shape of image, between loudness of sound and size of image, and between length of sound and length/shape of image. The image and sound of "Dots" and "Loops" have equal relationship each other, rather than subordinate relationship according as image become sound and the sound become new image with the animated sound technique. "Dots" and "Loops" show tendency of minimal art and music video. Since these two films, and remind about the new approach to sound creation in today's animation production.

  • one of the most difficult thing for beginner animators is timing. In animations, timing can help to make character animatedly and have function that delivers the character's feeling. However, it is impossible to formulate this timing, since timing for certain time and situation can only express the character's environment, so it is important to make you own timing. the timing has special relationship with animation sounds. This sound decides the animation's mood. Even only accurate cord and music can make dramatic mood for animations. One of the technique is mickey mousing which synchronizes movement and music together. This these will explain about the animation sound using mickey mousing technique to get for animation timing and character movement followed by sound rhythm and tempos with examples 'Tom and Jerry' and 'Nightmare of christmas'.

  • This paper analyzes Korean aesthetic characteristics of Korean independent animation, which is closely related to artistic and social characteristics, by searching Korean independent animation image for the winner of "Indie AniFest", the only independent animation film festival in Korea. And social communication methods. There are three ways in which Korean Independence Animation shows the way of speaking through award-winning works. The first is a method of expressing feelings, impulses, and desires in a formative way, and a direct and sensuous image as in sign language or sound. In the second method of speaking differently with images, in the third method, It makes the voice of the fringe through the real world of the story sound as a story of reality. Animation is a medium that 'originalizes and communicates meaning' as an image, and has implemented and constructed a new way of speaking, which is different from existing social voices. Nevertheless, it is not easy to find a research that approaches animation from the viewpoint of social and political speech through images. Therefore, this paper is necessary for the balanced development of animation. In addition, this study can contribute to re - examining Korean independent animation from an academic point of view and to discover and evaluate fair value from a wider perspective.

  • Computer animation is tile most advanced composite art to apply image, sound to the theme, Domestic technique is improved but still lacks creativity and content in theinternational market. In this paper, I'll notify the importance of planning and introduce narrative animation to produce their own style of animation. A successful career in the digital animation industry requires more than just technical expertise. It also demands creative mastery, a sense of wonder and boundless imagination. This unique hands-on program combines traditional, creative and technical skills and develops digital artists, not software technicians. Especially, people involved in the industry shouldrecognize a special quality of narrative animation in today's 3D animation and game- saturated climate. Therefore, they are able to create a new form of high-quality animation. It will be expected to promote digital animation education with a new index.

  • Animation becomes combination of narrative together visual(image) and hearing(sound) information rather than transmits only visual information. The image and sound of such animation are adjusted and controlled in the structure of narrative, and com to receive a meaning by its context. Even if animation begun by equal motive, the meaning which is different in each other with a director is generated. Although Snow White of the Walt Disney Co. and Fleischer's studio was manufactured by motive in fairy tale Snow White, it can look for a large difference in semantic generation of narrative. While Disney's Snow White re-interpreted the original meaning for a director's view of the world and re-made it by animation, Snow White of Fleischer constitutes a work from a meaning of the Snow White original newly completely, is not only weakening the union power of narrative, and but also reflecting the situation at that time.

  • With the media's shift into the digital era in the 2000s, comic book publishers attempted a transition into the new medium by establishing a distribution structure using internet networks. But that effort shied from escaping the parallel-page reading structure of traditional comics. On the other hand, webtoons are showing divers changes by redesigning the structure of traditional sequential art media; they tend to separate and allot spaces according to the vertical scroll reading method of the internet browser and include animations, sound effects and background music. This trend is also in accordance with the preferences of modern readers. Modern society has complicated social structures with the development of various media; the public is therefore exposed to different stimuli and shows characteristics of differentiated perceptions. In other words, webtoons display more relevant and entertaining characteristics by inserting sounds and using moving texts and characters in specific frames, while traditional comics require an appreciation of withdrawal and immersion like other published media. Motions in webtoons are partially applied for dramatic tension or to create an effective expression of action. For example, hand-drawn animation is adopted to express motions by dividing motion images into many layers. Sounds are also utilized, such as background music with episode-related lyrics, melodies, ambient sounds and motion-related sound effects. In addition, webtoons provide readers with new amusement by giving tactile stimuli via the vibration of a smart phone. As stated above, the vertical direction, time-based nature of animation motions and tactile stimuli used in webtoons are differentiated from published comics. However, webtoons' utilization of innovative techniques hasn't yet reached its full potential. In addition to the fact that the software used for webtoon effects is operationally complex, this is a transitional phenomenon since there is still a lack of technical understanding of animation and sound application amongst the general public. For example, a sound might be programmed to play when a specific frame scrolls into view on the monitor, but the frame may be scrolled faster or slower than the author intended; in this case, sound can end before or after a reader sees the whole image. The motion of each frame is also programmed to start in a similar fashion. Therefore, a reader's scroll speed is related to the motion's speed. For this reason, motions might miss the intended timing and be unnatural because they are played out of context. Also, finished sound effects can disturb the concentration of readers. These problems come from a shortage of continuity; to solve these, naturally activated consecutive sounds or animations, like the simple rotation of joints when a character moves, is required.
