  • Aircraft flight control surfaces which are one of the most important elements of safety allow a pilot to adjust and control the aircraft's flight attitude. This paper is described of the control surface deflection angle measuring device. Data analysis through ground test and flight test can provide reliability of this device using the present system. It is also shown that measuring system is capable of detecting failure of control surfaces.

수송 기술에 적합한 학습용 풍동의 힘 측정 장치 개발 (Development of Force Measuring Device in Learning Wind Tunnel Used for Transportation Technology Class)

  • 이 연구는 중등학교 학생들에게 비행의 원리를 이해하고 항공 기술 분야에 흥미를 가질 수 있도록 하기 위해 학교 현장에 적용 가능한 교수-학습 자료인 학습용 풍동의 힘 측정 장치를 개발하였다. 연구의 내용은 학습용 풍동의 힘 측정 장치 개발과 실험으로 이루어져 있다. 이 연구에서 얻은 주요 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 공과대학 기계계열 학과나 항공연구소 등에서 사용하는 고가의 Load cell을 이용한 장치 대신에 지렛대 원리를 활용한 간단한 구조이다. 종합된 하나의 장치로 양력, 항력 및 유체 저항 비교 실험이 가능하다. 에어포일 받음각에 따른 양력 계수는 실험값과 이론값이 전체적으로 비슷한 경향성을 갖으며, 실속 현상은 실험값이 이론값보다 더 큰 받음각에서 나타났다. 에어포일 받음각에 따른 항력 계수는 실험값과 이론값이 전체적으로 비슷한 경향성을 갖으며, 실험값은 이론값에 비해 항력 계수의 증가 비율이 완만하게 증가하였다.

  • This study was performed to design and construct a digital soil shear stress sensor in order to replace the conventional devices for measuring soil shear property. The developed digital shear stress measuring device can store measured data with GPS position information as a vector format into a computer. Based on the experiments at various field conditions, the measuring characteristic of the device was quite similar to that of a conventional device, SR-2 that has been a major tool to measure the soil shear property. It was concluded that the digital shear stress measuring device was an effective and comprehensive sensor for measuring soil shear property.

The effect of applying a head-weight device on cervical angle and pain of neck muscles

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to measure the change in pain threshold of levator scapular muscle, carniovertebral angle, and head position angle when applying a head-weight device on healthy adult. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: This study was conducted with 21 healthy adult male and female who voluntarily agreed to participate in this study after being informed of the purpose and method of this study. After measuring the cervical angle and pain threshold of levator scapular muscle, subject was instructed to walk for 5 minutes on a treadmill at a speed of less than 5 km/h while wearing after wearing head-weight device of 0.5 kg. Then, cervical spine angle and pain threshold of levator scapula muscle were re-measured. Measurement of cervical spine angle was conducted with photo by using the Bluebeam Revu software and the pain pressure thresholds (PPTs) were measured using an electronic algometer over potential trigger points on the body. Results: The results cervical angle showed a significant change, from $49.62^{\circ}$ to $52.10^{\circ}$ (p<0.05). PPT showed a significant change, from 30.71 to 36.89 (p<0.05). Conclusions: These findings suggest that applying head-weight device has a positive influence on increasing cervical angle and reducing pain when applied as a therapeutic intervention method of forward head posture.

치과용 임플란트 시스템의 기계적 가공오차에 관한 연구 (Machining Tolerance of Various Implant Systems and their Components)

  • 연구목적 : 본 연구에서는 rotational freedom을 측정할 수 있는 기구를 개발하여 시중에서 유통되고 있는 국산 임플란트 및 다양한 국적의 임플란트들의 기계적인 가공오차들을 측정하여 다양한 임플란트 시스템의 component간의 기계적인 안정성을 평가하고자 한다. 또한 본 연구에서는 더 나아가 최근에 임플란트 abutment로 각광을 받고 있는 각종 ceramic abutment의 절삭 가공오차에 관한 항목을 측정하여 임플란트 제조사 및 임상의들에게 올바른 정보를 제공하고자 한다. 연구재료 및 방법 : 국내에서 유통되는 외부연결구조의 외국산 임플란트 시스템(Nobel Biocare, Anthorgyr)과 국산 시스템(Neobiotec)과 내부연결구조의 임플란트 시스템(외국산:Nobel Biocare, Anthorgyr, Straumann, Frident Dentsply, 국산:Dentium) 별로 임플란트 fixture, abutment, analog를 서로 교차 연결하여 회전각도측정기(rotational angle measuring device)로 freedom of rotational angle을 측정하였다. 국산 외부연결구조의 지르코니아 abutment(ZirAce)를 외부연결구조의 임플란트 시스템(Neobiotec, Nobel Biocare, Anthorgyr)의 fixture와 analog와 교차연결하여 freedom of rotational angle을 측정하였다. 연구결과 : 국산 외부연결구조의 임플란트 시스템은 약 2.67도(fixture와 abutment 연결시), 내부연결구조의 임플란트는 약 4.3도(fixture와 abutment 연결시)의 rotational freedom을 보였다. 국산 지르코니아 abutment는 외국산 및 국산 외부연결구조 임플란트 시스템과 상관없이 3도 이하(fixture와 연결시)의 결과를 보였다. 결 론 : 시제품으로 제작된 디지털 회전각도측정기는 높은 분해능을 갖고 있었으며, 국산 임플란트의 기계적 가공오차는 외국산 임플란트와 거의 유사했다. 국산 세라믹 abutment의 기계적 가공오차는 fixture 제조회사별로 다르게 나타났지만 같은 회사의 절삭가공된 금속 abutment와 비교시 가공오차가 더 적었다.

EOG를 이용한 포인팅 디바이스의 개발 (Development of the Pointing Device using EOG)

  • In this paper, a new method for controlling the pointing device using EOG(electrooculogram) signal generated from eye movement was suggested. The basic idea of the method is to control the direction of pointer, as using the results of measuring each component of the horizontal EOG and the vertical EOG by angle of eye-gaze. As a practical example, pointing device controlling the personal computer's pointer is manufactured. The designed pointing device consists of pre-amplifier, A/D converter, serial transmission device and PC program. That is, first, the EOG is amplified by pre-amplifier. Secondly, the amplified EOG is digitized and transmitted to personal computer by PIC16C74A. Finally, the software for controlling the pointer on personal computer is programed. As the result, the measured horizontal EOG and vertical EOG by eye-gaze angle had high linearity; the correlation coefficients of the regression line were 0.998 and 0.996 respectively. And the developed pointing device is able to control the personal computer's pointer, and the average of the errors between the objective value and the observed value had 3.77% for horizontal axis and 5.85% for vertical axis. The pointing device developed in this study is able to control personal computer's pointer by subject's eye movement, that is, the user's intention. Furthermore, the algorithm of this study is applicable for many field, such as a new method remote control, a new wheelchair control and so forth.

변조전달함수 방법에서 엣지 장치 설정에 대한 각도 최적화 평가 (Evaluation of Angle Optimization on Edge Test Device Setting in Modulation Transfer Function)

  • This study was purpose to evaluation of Modulation Transfer Function in Measurements by using the International electrotechnical commission standard(IEC 62220-1) which were edge device each angle by using edge method. In this study was Aero(Konica, Japan) image receptor which is a indirect Flat panel detector(FPD) was used. The size of matrix 1994 × 2430 (14"× 17" inch) which performed 12 bit processing and pixel pitch is 175 ㎛. The results of shown as MTF measurements at IEC standard. The amount of data seemed reasonable and at an MTF value of 0.1 the spatial frequencies were 2.56 cycles/mm at an angle of 2.4°. MTF value of 0.5 the spatial frequencies were 1.32 cycles/mm at an angle of 2.4°. This study were to evaluate MTF by setting each angle 2.0°~2.8° degrees the most effective optimal edge angle and to suggest the quantitative methods of measuring by using IEC.

햅틱 장치의 프로파일 측정 및 감성 평가 (Torque Profile Measuring and Sensibility Evaluation of a Haptic Device)

  • Developed in this research is a TP (tangible prototyping) system, which consists of two modules; (1) a virtual reality model to evaluate the functions and appearance of the product, and (2) a haptic device to emulate tactile and kinesthetic properties of mechanical dial knobs. As an example, a washing machine is modeled using a commercial CAD system and transformed in VRML and X3D formats. Some dynamic behaviors and kinematic characteristics are programmed using X3D script and Java. Various haptic behaviors of the dial are generated by modulating torque profile according to the rotation angle. A torque profile measuring system is developed to evaluate the behaviors of the haptic dial physically. Haptic sensibility evaluations are accomplished using the TP by semantic differential method.

복굴절이 큰 광섬유에 제작된 장주기 광섬유 격자를 이용한 광섬유 전류 센서 (Fiber-optic Ccurrent Sensor Using a Long-period Fiber Grating Inscribed on a High Birefringent Fiber)

  • Based on Faraday effect, the variation of current flowing through the conductor can be encoded as that of azimuth angle of light polarization propagating through the fiber coil wound onto the conductor. The amount of current can be obtained by measuring the variation of the light intensity transformed from that of the azimuth angle through a polarization analyzer. In this paper we propose a fiber-optic current sensor system that employs a fiber polarization analyzer as a sensor interrogation device. The fiber polarization analyzer was prepared by inscribing a long-period fiber grating on a high birefringent fiber. At the fixed wavelength of 1522.5 nm, the fabricated fiber device has the polarization extinction ratio of more than 25 dB. The measurement of large current up to 600 Arms was accomplished based on a simple fiber interrogation device and the measurement output of the sensor system showed a good linearity.

Failure Detection Filter for the Sensor and Actuator Failure in the Auto-Pilot System

  • Auto-Pilot System uses heading angle information via the position sensor and the rudder device to control the ship's direction. Most of the control logics are composed of the state estimation and control algorithms assuming that the measurement device and the actuator have no fault except the measurement noise. But such asumptions could bring the danger in real situation. For example, if the heading angle measuring device is out of order the control action based on those false position information could bring serious safety problem. In this study, the control system including improved method for processing the position information is applied to the Auto-Pilot System. To show the difference between general state estimator and F.D.F., BJDFs for the sensor and the actuator failure detection are designed and the performance are tested. And it is shown that bias error in sensor could be detected by state-augmented estimator. So the residual confined in the 2-dimension in the presence of the sensor failure could be unidirectional in output space and bias sensor error is much easier to be detected.
