  • The warming up of the recent competition in the smart phone industry followed by rapid increase of open platforms and app stores have led the mobile terminals to adopt the general purpose operating system. The mobile device utilizing this OS is vulnerable to mobile malignant code which is highly transferable. As a result, the scale of mobile attack and harm increase. However, compared to the malicious code and virus which keep increasing, the elements for security to prevent are insufficient. Therefore, this paper describe about the Context Aware Service that eliminates the potentially risky elements on the smart phone service, which could threaten the usability of the service including invasion of personal information. The proposed system prevents from disclosure of personal information by giving the procedure of information, and realizes the service that is able to change the sequence of identifying the users' information to prepare for emergency.

A Code-level Parallelization Methodology to Enhance Interactivity of Smartphone Entertainment Applications (스마트폰 엔터테인먼트 애플리케이션의 상호작용성 개선을 위한 코드 수준 병렬화 방법론)

  • One of the fundamental requirements of entertainment applications is interactivity with users. The mobile device such as the smartphone, however, does not guarantee it due to the limit of the application processor's computing power, memory size and available electric power of the battery. This paper proposes a methodology to boost responsiveness of interactive applications by taking advantage of the parallel architecture of mobile devices which, for instance, have dual-core, quad-core or octa-core. To harness the multi-core architecture, it exploits the POSIX thread, a platform-independent thread library to be able to be used in various mobile platforms such as Android, iOS, etc. As a useful application example of the methodology, a heavy matrix calculation function was transformed to a parallelized version which showed around 2.5 ~ 3 times faster than the original version in a real-world usage environment.

  • Mobile network has become an essential tool for mutual communications, so a survey research published that most of the smartphone users use Mobile Instant Messenger every day. In this paper, we developed a wire-wireless integrated web messenger that can be used in various platform of mobile devices and desktop computer for communicating between users of some companies. We defined a multi-organization as several independent companies. Our web messenger was developed for communicating of users of a multi-organization. So one of functions of our web messenger is to restrict access to some particular departments in each company for the security of their company. Developed web messenger worked reliably from variety of web browsers on most of platforms such as android, iOs and desktop computers.

  • This paper analyzes global research trend on information security. All technical fields based on information requires security so that discovering technologies (technical terms) which are developing newly or dramatically is able to guide the future direction of the field of information security. In this paper, the ultimate of this research is to figure out the technologies related to information security and to forecast the future through understanding their trends. The paper, as a beginning for the analysis on macroscopic viewpoint, contains measurement of yearly relatedness between technical terms from 2001 to 2014 by using temporal co-occurrence and interpretation of its meaning through comparing the relatedness with trends of top-related technical terms. And to conclude, we could find that Android platform, Big data, Internet of things, Mobile technologies, and Cloud computing are emerging technologies on information security.

A Voice-Annotation Technique in Mobile E-book for Reading-disabled People (독서장애인용 디지털음성도서를 위한 음성 어노테이션 기법)

  • Digital talking book has been developed to enhance reading experiences for reading-disabled people. In the existing digital talking book, however, annotations can be created only through the screen interfaces. Screen annotation interfaces is of no use for reading-disabled people because they need reader's eyesight. In this paper, we suggest a voice annotation technique can create notes and highlights at any playing time by using hearing sense and voice command. We design a location determination technique that pinpoints where a voice annotation should be placed in the playing sentences. To verify the effectiveness of our voice annotation technique, we implement a prototype in an android platform. We can find out by the black-blindfolded users testing that our system can perfectly locate the exact position that a voice annotation should be placed into.

  • 애플의 iOS가 처음 출시되고 앱 마켓이 공급자와 소비자 모두에게 각광을 받으며 성공하자 구글에서도 Android를 내세워 구글 마켓을 오픈하였고 결국 다양한 종류, 높은 품질의 애플리케이션들이 사용자들에게 공급되게 되었다. 언제 어디서나 스마트 폰을 통해 고품질의 다양한 앱을 이용할 수 있다는 점이 부각되어 각 마켓의 다운로드 횟수가 급증하는 등 폭발적인 앱 시장을 이룩하게 되었다. 하지만 개발자의 입장에서는 같은 솔루션을 개발할 때 모든 플랫폼을 지원하기 위해 각각의 OS에 맞게 따로 개발하기 때문에 오히려 전체 개발기간이 늦어지는 요소가 되었다. 이런 비효율적인 개발 기간을 단축하기 위해 상용엔진을 구매하여 적용하는 경우가 있지만 영세한 규모의 프로젝트 팀에서 적용하기에는 무리가 있으며 엔진 자체를 배우거나 개발하려는 앱을 위한 커스터마이징하는 기간 역시 짧지 않아 좋은 선택이 될 수 없다. 이에 본 논문에서는 모바일 OS 크로스 플랫폼 지원이 가능한 게임 엔진을 구축하기 위한 방법을 설명하고 이를 활용하여 개발된 프로젝트를 테스트하여 초당 54~61frame 이라는 그래픽 출력 속도를 보임으로써 해당 엔진의 활용 가능성을 증명하였다.

  • 최근 스마트 시대에 디지털 컨버젼스(digital convergence)의 대표기기로 대두되고 있는 태블릿 PC는 휴대전화와 컴퓨터의 기능을 바탕으로 장소의 제한 없이 네트워크에 접속할 수 있다. 이는, 개인의 일상생활에서 큰 영향을 미치고 있는 실정이다. 10년 이상 e러닝이 주도해 온 IT교육시장에서 스마트러닝으로의 변화는 새로운 플랫폼을 구축하는 그 이상의 의미를 가진다. 스마트 러닝은 기존의 수직적인 학습방식을 수평적, 참여적, 지능적, 그리고 상호작용적인 방식으로 전환하여 학습의 효과를 높였다. 이러한 트랜드를 반영하여 스마트러닝의 장점을 극대화 시킬 수 있는 학습자 중심의 컨버젼스 러닝시스템(learning system)을 구현하고자 하였다. 또한, 영어의 중요성이 대두되면서 영어 인증시험에 대한 관심이 날로 커지고 있다. 그리하여 바쁜 일상생활 중에서 시간과 장소에 구애 받지 않고 태블릿 PC를 통하여 영어 인증시험을 공부할 수 있는 어플리케이션을 기획하였다. 본 LEMON(Learn English Mobile ON-air) 앱(application)은 영어 학습 시간이 충분하지 않은 대학생 및 직장인 등을 대상으로 TOEIC, TOEFL, TOEIC SPEAKING 영어 인증시험에 대한 학습이 가능하도록 구현하였다.

A Multi-Bible Application on an Android Platform Using a Word Tokenization and Recognition Algorithm (단어 구분 및 인식 알고리즘을 이용한 안드로이드 플랫폼 기반의 멀티 성경 애플리케이션)

  • Mobile phones, which were used for simply calling and sending text messages, have recently moved to application-oriented digital devices such as smart phones and tablet phones. The rapid increase of smart and tablet phones which can offer advanced ability and run a variety of applications based on Java requires various digital multimedia content activities. These days, there are more than 2.2 billions of Christians around the world. Among them, more than 300 millions of people live in Asian, and all of them have and read the bible. If there is an application for the bible which translates from English to their own languages, it could be very helpful. With this reason, this paper proposes a multi-bible application that supports various languages. To do this, we implemented an algorithm that recognize sentences in the bible as word by word. The algorithm is essentially composed of the following three functions: tokenizing sentences in the bible into word by word (word tokenization), recognizing words by using touch event (word recognition), and translating the selected words to the desired language. Consequently, the proposed multi-bible application supports language translation efficiently by touching words of sentences in the bible.

  • 최근 스마트 폰을 이용한 사용자들이 생성하는 사진 데이터의 양이 급속히 증가하였다. 폭발적인 사진 데이터 양의 증가는 사용자가 원하는 사진에 대한 접근을 어렵게 하였다. 때문에 본 연구에서는 사진의 접근 및 관리의 효율을 높이기 위한 폭소노미를 통한 태그 추천 시스템을 안드로이드 모바일 플랫폼과 서버의 연계로 구현하였다. 구현된 애플리케이션은 25,000 장의 사진을 기반으로 하는 폭소노미를 통해 태그 추천을 하며, 태그 추천에 평균적으로 5.5 초의 시간이 걸렸다.

Andro-profiler: Anti-malware system based on behavior profiling of mobile malware (행위기반의 프로파일링 기법을 활용한 모바일 악성코드 분류 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel anti-malware system based on behavior profiling, called Andro-profiler. Andro-profiler consists of mobile devices and a remote server, and is implemented in Droidbox. Our aim is to detect and classify malware using an automatic classifier based on behavior profiling. First, we propose the representative behavior profiling for each malware family represented by system calls coupled with Droidbox system logs. This is done by executing the malicious application on an emulator and extracting integrated system logs. By comparing the behavior profiling of malicious applications with representative behavior profiling for each malware family, we can detect and classify them into malware families. Andro-profiler shows over 99% of classification accuracy in classifying malware families.
