  • Smartphones are becoming a portable computer. As a result, even the most sensitive financial application services are now available anywhere on the smartphone. Compared to general PCs, smartphones communicate with external devices through various channels such as wireless internet, mobile communication network, Bluetooth, and NFC, and a wide variety of applications are provided. Therefore, if vulnerabilities exist, the possibility of attack damage increases. In this paper, we analyze the vulnerabilities of dynamic virtual keyboards used in login of banking apps of smartphones with various physical constraints and propose countermeasures.

  • As the number of mobile applications increases rapidly, the overhead of swapping in smartphone memory systems keeps increasing. Unlike desktop or server systems, the basic setting of smartphones does not support swapping, so applications are killed when available memory is exhausted. This is because swapping in smartphones incurs excessive storage I/O overhead. In this article, we propose a swapping policy for smartphones, which significantly reduces storage I/Os. The proposed policy categorizes mobile applications based on their functional characteristics, and controls the number of applications to be swapped based on application priorities and memory situations. Measurement experiments with Android reference devices show that the proposed swapping policy dramatically reduces the overhead of swapping in various mobile applications.

  • A variety of applications that are accessible through app markets provide useful features and functions. However, those applications can present many GUI bugs due to the deficiency of testing processes. Even though various approaches have been developed for mobile app testing, GUI bugs in applications are still difficult to be identified due to the absence of efficiency, lack of automation, and necessity of access to the source code. In this paper, we propose an automated black-box testing method for efficient GUI bug detection. Our experimental results show that the proposed method achieves better code coverage and uncovers GUI bugs when compared with existing black-box testing called Monkey.

  • The Korea metropolitan areas have the largest of population density in OECD countries. Those people who use public transportation is facing many difficulties in commuting and going to school. There are many applications to help this situation. However, those applications inform a regular timetable and also offer a real-time alarm to user by user's passive action. In this paper, we design and implement the application that give the real-time traffic information and the arrival notification message about subway, bus and foot to user.

  • In this paper, we take advantage of the SEN Remote HMI App as a tool based on Raspberry Pi server for the smart home control. This is a smart home control system built in an open and a low-cost Raspberry Pi as a server, and take advantage of Android-based graphical programming software SEN Remote HMI. If you build it based system expansion and additional works interface via the Raspberry Pi and Arduino, it is expected to be extended to the Internet of Things (IoT) enabling environment for the implementation of smart home.

  • Experiments and practices are critical instructional activities for teaching and learning natural sciences. However, by learning the experimental procedures in advance with the help of Virtual Experiments, natural science majors may address danger of handling chemicals before carrying out experiments in the laboratories. Virtual Experiments, a mobile learning app, provides learners with interactions between the learners and the contents by using the sensor built-in Android-platform smart phones. With the app, learners may handle the chemicals and experiment apparatuses, verify the reactions and assembly of the chemicals and instruments in advance. This paper describes the design and development of the Virtual Experiments in hope to promote the integration of mobile learning apps in order to better engage learners in the laboratories.

  • This paper proposes an application which applied in managements of cosmetics and finds applications related with expiration date among applications. In this paper, the application is implemented to improve safety and stability of cosmetics based on android platform. In general, it is hard to use to have all knowledge in many types of cosmetics. Because of that each item have different date to buy and use, it is necessary to manage them efficiently. This paper is designed and implemented the application for management of expiration date to use cosmetics. It helps to use cosmetics safely and serve good information from cosmetics companies connected with this application.

  • With the increase in the number of smart phone users, smart phones themselves are seeing progress in terms of available functions. Many applications, too, are being developed to increase convenience in daily life. This study issued a list of information on films that the user wishes to see, by using an XML parser to call news articles related to the films in question to the news site RSS. The Android App server was built using Ubuntu and the latest film information was provided through the board that was built. The menu was consisted in a manner so that when the information interested was clicked on, a more detailed set of information became available.

  • Mobile applications are software systems running on handheld devices, such as smartphones, PDAs, tablets and so on. The market of mobile application has rapidly expanded in the past few years. In this paper, we present a novel approach to track smartphone application usage from a event logs on the mobile device and analyzed both on client system and usage analysis server. We implemented our client system on Android device based usage analytics platform. Based on the analysis server system, we obtained over 47,000 user base, and we get the user's app usage informations on realtime. In this paper, we describe a large scale deployment-based research for a smartphone usage patterns and usage information visualization techniques.
