The purpose of this study is to evaluate the flexural strengthening effects of RC beams reinforced with carbon fiber sheets (CFS) in variable of strengthening amount and anchorage length of CFS. This study can be summarized as follows ; The CFS shares the tensile stress such as rebar during loading test. Also, as the strengthening amount of CFS is increased, the maximum flexural strength of RC beams reinforced with CFS is increased. Therefore, it is confirmed that the CFS's strengthening method is very effective to improve the flexural strength of RC beams. The maximum flexural strength of RC beams with CFS is determined by bond failure between CFS and concrete surface. So, the evaluation of CFS's strengthening effect can be calculated using the tensile stress of CFS which is peeling. When the anchorage length of CFS is increased, the ductility of RC beams is increased because of delaying the peeling of CFS. But, in case of same anchorage length of CFS, when the strengthening amount of CFS is increased, the ductility is decreased. Therefore, it is considered that the anchorage of CFS in the end zone is necessary.
Anchorage zone in prestressed concrete cable stayed bridges is very important area due to the more accurate analysis is needed to estimate the behavior. In the study, since the cable anchorage zone in the prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridge is subject to a large amount of concentrated tendon forces, it shows very complicated stress distributions and causes a serious local cracks. Accordingly, It is necessary to investigate the parameters of affecting the stress properties, such as the cable inclination, the position of anchor plate, the modeling method and the three dimensional effect. The tensile stress distribution of anchorage zone is compared to the actual design condition by varing the stiffness of spring element in the local modeling and an appropriate position of anchor plate is determined. These results would be elementary data to the stress state of anchorage zone and more efficient design.
PSC box girder is widely used in a domestic bridge and overpass, etc., therefore, the design and construction technique for the PSC box girder is developing day by day. Even if it were so, however, the design for anchorage zone in PSC box girder has depended on common sense and empirical results. And it is the current situation that the designer has difficulty due to inadequacy of provisions in the domestic design code and lack of understanding for behavior of anchorage zone. Besides, the design based on Leonhardt's method is being done in general, but the design may be various even for the same structure because of the difference in a way of applying. In this paper, therefore, anchorage zone in PSC box girder bridge is analyzed and designed by using strut-tie model. Adequacy for the application of strut-tie model is verified by comparison with the way used in current design practice, and this study presents that strut-tie model can be a rational and an economical design than current design methods.
Generally speaking, durability, load carrying capacity and the life of structure becomes to be shortened in all structures as time passed. Also, we have to repair and reinforce because of tile decrease of the traffic volume and overloaded vehicles in the bridge. External prestressing method is most popular and effective strengthening method which can be used for the prestressed concrete-girders. When strengthening with external prestressing method, there are many ways to install anchorage system. But, These methods have many faults. For example, the achorage force is so small or an anchorage system installation damages an existing structure. So, this paper suggested a new anchorage system to strengthen without any damage to the structure and then confirm the increase of durability and the properties of behavior with experimentation.
An experimental study was performed on the pull-out behavior of 90-deg standard hooks from exterior beam-column connections. The effects of the number of hooked bars of joint area were investigated. Under the pull-out action of hooked bars, the damage and cracking of joint area tends to be more extensive as the number of hooks pulling out from a joint increases. The pull-out strength and post-peak ductility of hooked bar are adversely influenced by the increase in number of hooks pulling out from an exterior joint. Current hooked bar anchorage design guidelines may be improved by considering the effect of the number of hooked bars on anchorage conditions at exterior joints.
In this paper, design and analysis of anchorage zone in prestressed concrete structure using nonlinear strut and tie model is presented. Nonlinear strut and tie model is an analysis and design model which constructs strut and tie model based on nonlinear analysis considering the nonlinear behavior of concrete. Based on the nonlinear strut and tie model, the analysis and design are performed for the anchorage zone having singular concentric tendons, singular eccentric tendons and multiple tendons, respectively. For verification of the model, comparisons are made with experimental results as well as results by linear strut and tie models. from the comparisons, it is shown that the design of the anchorage zone by the nonlinear model is still economical without loosing the degree of safety and the prediction of the ultimate load by the nonlinear model gives better accuracy than by the linear one.

Since various methods for repairing and rehabilitating have been applied to damaged bridges to increase their load carrying capacity, many researches on the methods have been widely carried out. In particular, In terms of applicability, strengthening efficiency and economical efficiency, external tendons using lifting hole anchorage system is the most effective method among the aforementioned methods. In order to verify the strengthening effectiveness, flexural experiments on the beams strengthened with external tendons using lifting hole anchorage system were carried out. The experiments were conducted on two groups of systems, the existing and the proposed external tendons using lifting hole anchorage system. In addition, An evaluation on ductility of the beams were conducted in this paper.
Nuclear power plants in Korea were designed and evaluated based on the NRC's Regulatory Guide 1.60, a design response spectrum for nuclear power plants. However, it can be seen that the seismic motion characteristics are different when analyzing the Gyeongju earthquake and the Pohang earthquake that has recently occurred in Korea. Compared to the design response spectrum, seismic motion characteristics in Korea have a larger spectral acceleration in the high-frequency region. Therefore, in the case of equipment with a high natural frequency installed in a nuclear power plant, seismic performance may be reduced by reflecting the characteristics of domestic seismic motions. The failure modes of the equipment are typically structural failure and functional failure, with an anchorage failure being a representative type of structural failure. In this study, comparative analyses were performed to decide whether to consider the inelastic behavior of the anchorage or not. As a result, it was confirmed that the seismic performance of the anchorages could be increased by considering the inelastic behavior of an anchorage.
In this study, the behavior of the number of anchorage bolts on the glass-fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) plates adhered to the surfaces of reinforcing concrete (RC) T-beams was investigated analytically. The analytical results were compared to the test results in term of shear strength, and midpoint displacement of the beam. The modelling of the beams was conducted in ABAQUS/CAE finite element software. The Concrete Damaged Plasticity (CDP) model was used for concrete material modeling, and Classical Metal Plasticity (CMP) model was used for reinforcement material modelling. Model-1 was the reference specimen with enough sufficient shear reinforcement, and Model-2 was the reference specimen having low shear reinforcement. Model-3, Model-4 and Model-5 were the specimens with lower shear reinforcement. These models consist of a single variable which was the number of anchorage bolts implemented to the GFRP plates. The anchorage bolts of 2, 3, and 4 were mutually mounted on each GFRP plates through the beam surfaces for Model-3, Model-4, and Model-5, respectively. It was found that Model-1, Model-3, Model-4 and Model-5 provided results approximately equal to the test results. The results show that the shear strength of the beams increased with increasing of anchorage numbers. While close results were obtained for Model-1, Model-3, Model-4 and Model-5, in Model-2, the rate of increase of displacement was higher than the increase of load rate. It was seen, finite element based ABAQUS program is inadequate in the modeling of the reinforced concrete specimens under shear force.
Construction equipment such as tower crane should be installed in a field without appropriate anchorage to cause a collapse of crane. The anchorage capacity can be varied with Anchor length, concrete strength, anchor diameter, hooked or non hooked these variables will be made and tested in the study. It is shown what anchorage capacity will be more effective case by case. Hooked and non-hooked rebar anchor concrete weight with dia 22mm rebar are shown with initial displacement at 170~220KN of hooked case and 200~210KN of non-hooked one which are linearly increased, without any ductility behavior with almost brittleness. Three(3) same test pieces are almost similarly behaviored without relation to hooked or non-hooked cases. It is found out that the bigger diameter of rebar becomes, the more resistant capacity could be made, but conversely ductility against sudden collapse similar to brittleness becomes the more insufficient. It is also found out that dia 16mm rebar could be more effectively applied to heavy support weight at construction sites.
