An Integrated DEA-AHP Model for the Acquisition of a Weapon System: Selection of a Next-Generation Fighter System in Korea

  • In this paper, we propose a data envelopment analysis (DEA) and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) integrated model to improve the selection process in the acquisition of a weapon system which is the key component to the success of the project. In particular, we applied DEA in the first stage to choose a frontier group among the candidates in the selection process of the next-generation fighter system (the 3rd FX) in Korea. Then, by using the Delphi technique, we surveyed military experts and applied AHP to determine the best choice among the candidates. The results of the study match the actual decision made by the Korean government in the weapon system acquisition. The results of the proposed DEA-AHP integrated method in the selection of the next-generation fighter systems in Korea demonstrate the usefulness of the method. In this paper, we also discuss the future implications of the proposed model.

대형 회로망 그래프 마디축소 모델 (Node-reduction Model of Large-scale Network Grape)

  • A new type geometric and mathematical network reduction model is introduced. Large-scale network is analyzed with analytic approach. The graph has many nodes, branches and loops. Circuit equation are obtained from these elements and connection rule. In this paper, the analytic relation between voltage source has a mutual different graphic property. Node-reduction procedure is achieved with this circuit property. Consequently voltage source value is included into the adjacent node-analyzing equation. A resultant model equations are reduced as much as voltage source number. Matrix rank is (n-1-k), where n, k is node and voltage source number. The reduction procedure is described and verified with geometric principle and circuit theory. Matrix type circuit equation can be composed with this technique. The last results shall be calculated by using computer.

최적화 기법을 이용한 한국형 소형전술차량의 경량설계 (Light-weight Design of a Korean Light Tactical Vehicle Using Optimization Technique)

  • One of various main jobs in the design of a new tactical vehicle is to develop the lightest chassis parts satisfying the required durability target. In this study, the analytic methods to reduce the size and weight of a lower control arm and chassis frame of a Korean light tactical vehicle are presented. Topology optimization by ATOM (Abaqus Topology Optimization Module) is applied to find the optimal design of the suspension arm with volume and displacement constraints satisfied. In case of chassis frame, the light-weight optimization process associated with design sensitivity method is developed using Isight and ABAQUS. By these analytic methods we can provide design engineers with guides to where and how much the design changes should be made.

Identifying Core Robot Technologies by Analyzing Patent Co-classification Information

  • This study suggests a new approach for identifying core robot tech-nologies based on technological cross-impact. Specifically, the approach applies data mining techniques and multi-criteria decision-making methods to the co-classification information of registered patents on the robots. First, a cross-impact matrix is constructed with the confidence values by applying association rule mining (ARM) to the co-classification information of patents. Analytic network process (ANP) is applied to the co-classification frequency matrix for deriving weights of each robot technology. Then, a technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is employed to the derived cross-impact matrix and weights for identifying core robot technologies from the overall cross-impact perspective. It is expected that the proposed approach could help robot technology managers to formulate strategy and policy for technology planning of robot area.

  • This study aims to provide basic data for establishing strategies for asset management in the future through priorities and influence of the asset management items of public facilities in Korea. To this end, 4 upper items and 20 lower items in priority were selected based on existing literature. The analytic hierarchy process was used to determine the importance of each of the selected items, and the interpretive structural modeling (ISM) technique was used to examine the relationships among the 20 lower items. On this basis, directions for the efficient asset management of public facilities were suggested.

시각적 측면에서 랜드마크 요소의 최적입지선정 분석방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optimal Location Selection and Analytic Method of Landmark Element in terms of Visual Perception)

  • 랜드마크와 같이 시각적 인지가 용이해야 하는 요소의 입지 선택은 공간설계과정에서 많이 등장하는 화두이다. 최근에는 이러한 시각적 요소의 가시성을 평가하기 위해서 컴퓨터를 활용한 그래프 분석기술이 많이 적용되고 있으나, 분석의 틀이 평면적이고 시점과 대상점의 설정이 고정적이어서, 실질적인 분석결과를 얻는데 한계가 컸다. 이에 본 연구에서는 3차원 환경에서 동적 시점에 대한 분석이 가능한 비지향성 다차원 가시도 분석(MDVC-N) 분석방법론을 제시하였으며, 3차원 컴퓨터그래픽기술을 이용하여 분석어플리케이션을 구축하고, 시점과 대상점을 설정하는 스크립트 구조를 설계하였다. 여기에 고저차를 갖는 지형에 다양한 높이의 건물이 배치되어 있는 복합화된 대지를 예시모델로 적용하여 분석방법론을 검증하고 입지별 대안의 시각적 특성을 파악하였다. 연구를 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 1) 6개의 대안을 설정하여 정량적인 가시도를 측정할 수 있었다. 2) 3차원 그래프로 재현하여 직관적인 분석이 가능하였다. 3)공간구문론의 국부통합도를 공간이용행태 변수로 보정한 결과를 산출함으로서 분석의 적용성을 향상시켰다.

  • 현재 사회서비스 공공성 강화에 따른 방향 제시는 이해관계자의 관점에서 각자의 유리한 방향으로 생각하고 있으며, 서비스 제공기관 입장과 이용자의 입장, 관리 주체인 시·도의 공공성의 정의와 평가에 대해서는 의견이 서로 다르다. 본 연구는 지역사회서비스를 중심으로 하는 공공성에 대한 의견을 종합하여 공공성의 정의와 평가에 대한 합의점을 도출하고, 서로 다른 지표를 가지고 있거나 계량화할 수 없는 요소들을 동시에 평가할 수 있는 기법으로 계층분석법(Analytic Hierarchy Process: AHP)을 적용하여 공공성의 문제점을 해결하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 또한, 설계된 프레임에 따라 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 전문가를 대상으로 쌍대비교의 설문조사를 수행하여 실증 연구를 하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 AHP 평가모형을 통해 주요 요인들의 상대적 만족도를 측정한 결과 서비스이용률(0.470), 시설관리(0.210), 타 사업시행(0.073) 순으로 나타났다. 여기서 서비스이용률이 가장 중요하다 평가되었다.

AHP에 의한 조선기업의 작업능률향상을 위한 과업관련기법의 선택 (An AHP Approach to Select the Task Related Technique for Work Efficiency Improvement in Shipbuilding Enterprise)

  • The objective of this research is to select the most effective technique among task related techniques(motion & time study, job redesign, physical environment improvement) for improving work efficiency in shipbuilding enterprise. This study consists of several principal steps. The first step is to design critical criteria in evaluating work efficiency in ship-building enterprises. The second step is to develop sub-criteria of the critical criteria. The third step is to develop a four level AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) structure using the critical criteria, sub-criteria and techniques among task related techniques. The fourth step is to develop the pairwise comparison matrix at each level of AHP structure, which was based on survey data collected at the H heavy industry. And the last step is to select the most effective technique among task related techniques using AHP analysis. The result of AHP analysis has shown clear difference in priority among task related techniques in terms of work efficiency of the shipbuilding enterprise: The reduction of normal time is more important than the reduction of allowance time in improving of the work efficiency. Motion & time study is the most important technique for the reduction of normal time, and physical environment improvement is the most important technique for the reduction of allowance time as well.

주파수응답함수 결합법을 이용한 승용차 핸들지지 T 빔의 진동저감 재설계 (Redesign of Steering Wheel Support T-beam Structure to Reduce its Vibration Using Frequency Response Function Synthesis Technique)

  • The purpose of this paper is to reduce the level of idling vibration on a steering wheel. In some cases, vibration on steering wheel is amplified due to the resonance between the first natural frequency of T-beam and engine idling speed. Using SDM(structural dynamic modification) technique, T-beam is redesigned to reduce its vibration. This paper used FRF(frequency response function) synthesis technique which is entirely dependent on experiment. But this method requires lots of test efforts to enhance its reliability of design. While combining this method with an analytic method. the experimental burden, the major drawback of FRP synthesis method, can be considerably relieved. Using ana1ytic sensitivity analysis, some effective modification regions are preliminarily chosen as candidate Positions where SDM can be applied to modify T-beam\`s dynamic characteristics.

Impact Energy Absorption Mechanism of Largely Deformable Composites with Different Reinforcing Structures

  • Impact behaviors of the large deformable composites of Kevlar fiber reinforced composites of different preform structures have been investigated. An analytic tool was developed to characterize the impact behavior of the Kevlar composites. The image analysis technique, and deply technique were employed to develop energy balance equation under impact loading. An energy method was employed to establish the impact energy absorption mechanism of Kevlar multiaxial warp knitted composites. The total impact energy was classified into four categories including delamination energy, membrane energy, bending energy and rebounding energy under low velocity impact. Membrane and bending energy were calculated from the image analysis of the deformed shape of impacted specimen and delamination energy was calculated using the deplying technique. Also, the impact behavior of Kevlar composites under high velocity impact of full penetration of the composite specimen was studied. The energy absorption mechanisms under high velocity impact were modelled and the absorbed energy was classified into global deformation energy, shear-out energy, deformation energy and fiber breakage energy. The total energy obtained from the model corresponded reasonably well with the experimental results.
