간 기능 관련 식품분야의 국내${\cdot}$외 특허동향 분석 (Surveys of Domestic and Foreign Patents for Foods and Drugs Related to Improving Liver Function)

  • In this study, 3,301 domestic and foreign patents, established from 1980 to June, 2007, were reviewed in order to examine the technological trends in treating or preventing liver disease. Primary focus was placed on countries such as Korea, Japan, and the United States - the leading nations with regard to liver function research. This paper explores the systematic search that utilized a research-focused database and research analysts. Since the year 2000, Korea has demonstrated increased developments in the area of diet and liver disease, as shown by an increase in relevant patent caseloads and submissions especially for medicinal preparations containing compounds or reaction products with undetermined constitutions. In addition, there was up to a 29% increase in themarket share and the frequency of patent submissionshad increased. Japan has shown a similar trend to Korea with an increase in research, but has focused more on medical preparations containing active organic ingredients. In the United States, an increase in the number of patents was shown after the year 2000.

A Deep Learning Approach for Intrusion Detection

  • Intrusion detection has been widely studied in both industry and academia, but cybersecurity analysts always want more accuracy and global threat analysis to secure their systems in cyberspace. Big data represent the great challenge of intrusion detection systems, making it hard to monitor and analyze this large volume of data using traditional techniques. Recently, deep learning has been emerged as a new approach which enables the use of Big Data with a low training time and high accuracy rate. In this paper, we propose an approach of an IDS based on cloud computing and the integration of big data and deep learning techniques to detect different attacks as early as possible. To demonstrate the efficacy of this system, we implement the proposed system within Microsoft Azure Cloud, as it provides both processing power and storage capabilities, using a convolutional neural network (CNN-IDS) with the distributed computing environment Apache Spark, integrated with Keras Deep Learning Library. We study the performance of the model in two categories of classification (binary and multiclass) using CSE-CIC-IDS2018 dataset. Our system showed a great performance due to the integration of deep learning technique and Apache Spark engine.

  • Software vulnerabilities represent security weaknesses in software systems that attackers exploit for malicious purposes, resulting in potential system compromise and data breaches. Despite the increasing prevalence of these vulnerabilities, manual repair efforts by security analysts remain time-consuming. The emergence of deep learning technologies has provided promising opportunities for automating software vulnerability repairs, but existing AIbased approaches still face challenges in effectively handling complex vulnerabilities. This paper explores the potential of large language models (LLMs) in addressing these limitations, examining their performance in code vulnerability repair tasks. It introduces the latest research on utilizing LLMs to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of fixing security bugs.

  • Measuring stock market volatility and its determinants is critical for stock market participants, as volatility spillover effects affect corporate performance. This study adopted a novel approach to analysing and implementing GARCH-MIDAS modelling methods. The classical GARCH as a benchmark and the univariate GARCH-MIDAS framework are the GARCH family models whose forecasting outcomes are examined. The outcome of GARCH-MIDAS analyses suggests that inflation, interest rate, exchange rate, and oil price are significant determinants of the volatility of the Johannesburg Stock Market All Share Index. While for Nigeria, the volatility reacts significantly to the exchange rate and oil price. Furthermore, inflation, exchange rate, interest rate, and oil price significantly influence Ghanaian equity volatility, especially for the long-term volatility component. The significant shock of the oil price and exchange rate to volatility is present in all three markets using the generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic-mixed data sampling (GARCH-MIDAS) framework. The GARCH-MIDAS, with a powerful fusion of the GARCH model's volatility-capturing capabilities and the MIDAS approach's ability to handle mixed-frequency data, predicts the volatility for all variables better than the traditional GARCH framework. Incorporating these two techniques provides an innovative and comprehensive approach to modelling stock returns, making it an extremely useful tool for researchers, financial analysts, and investors.

병원정보시스템 사용성에 대한 실증연구 (A Case Study on the Hospital Information Systems Usability)

  • 본 연구는 병원산업에서 사용하는 병원정보시스템에 대한 품질 척도의 개발과 품질 수준 측정을 실시한 실증연구이다. 연구목적은 병원정보시스템을 위한 품질 측정 척도의 개발과 경향을 파악하여 병원경영자, 시스템 분석가와 소프트웨어 설계자들에게 의사결정을 위한 가이드라인 제공과 사용자들의 정보욕구에 대한 피드백을 제공하는데 있다. 연구대상은 의사, 간호사, 약사와 원무행정으로 하였고, 업무맥락은 환자진료, 환자간호, 약품 조제/제제, 진료비 수납/청구로 선정하였으며 품질 속성은 ISO9241-11의 효율성, 효과성, 만족성으로 분류하였다. 연구결과 국내 병원정보시스템은 환자진료와 진료비 계산 중심으로 구축되어 있다는 것을 알 수 있었고 직종, 전공, 직위와 업무 범위에 따라 각각 다른 품질 척도가 필요하다는 것이 밝혀졌다. 특히 병원정보시스템의 품질이 매우 낮은 분야는 비정상적인 업무처리와 외부 기관의 정보 공유 및 표준화로 밝혀졌다. 이것은 앞으로 병원정보시스템 품질을 개선해야하고 발전시켜야 할 부분이라고 할 수 있다.

Mössbauer spectroscopy를 이용한 제주도 무문(無紋)토기의 연구 (Mössbauer Spectroscopic Study of Non-figure Plain Coarse Pottery from Jeju Island)

  • 제주도 무문토기의 연구는 제주도의 청동기 시대 및 초기 철기시대 토기의 성격을 밝혀주는 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 본 연구에서는 제주도에서 발굴된 무문토기들을 대상으로, X-선 형광 분석법 및 X-선 회절 분석법을 이용하여 화학적 조성을 분석하고, Mossbauer분광법을 이용하여 토기에 함유된 광물과 산화철의 종류, 원자가 상태 및 자기적 성질을 분석하였다. 제주도 무문토기에는 SiO$_2$와 같은 규산염 광물이 주성분을 이루고 있으며, 비결정질 ferrihydrite함량은 약 5~10 wt% 이하이고, 제주도 무문토기들은 중성 화산암에서 부분적으 로 생성된 제주도 찰흙으로 만들어졌다고 여겨진다. 또한 제주도 무문토기편에 존재하는 철의 원자가 상태는 Fe$^{2+}$와 Fe$^{3+}$ 임을 알 수 있고, 초미세 자기장 값이 순수 goethite값보다 작게 나타나는 것은 찰흙을 빚어 만든 토기를 가열할 때 그 결정구조가 변화되어 Fe이온들의 결합상태가 달라졌기 때문이라고 추정된다.

환경친화적 도시 조성을 위한 정책평가체계에 관한 연구 - 저부하형 도시 조성을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Policies Evaluation Framework for Environmentally Friendly City)

  • In terms of climate change communities have only during the 1990s begun to recognize that all greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions are directly or indirectly generated locally, through acts of agency, production or consumption. This has provided a boost to the role of local places in the debate since GHGs can be allocated and made understood locally and hence form the basis for specific policies, programs, plans and projects. The objectives of this study are to define a framework for making Environmentally Friendly City through enhancing integrated energy-urban policies and present framework to do comprehensive evaluation on energy related policies response and also explore the interrelation between energy related activities in each sector and policy and applies to Seoul mega city in Korea. Despite the growing recognition of the seriousness of urban environmental problems and their contribution to global environmental and social concerns, most analysts continue to study cities in parts rather than as a whole; we study sectoral sub-systems such as transport, air pollution or energy. While specialization is useful for detailed thinking, we also need to see each issue in the context of how each city works environmentally, economically, socially and politically. We therefore need integrative approaches to study of cities and need to understand how they function as systems. These framework presented in this study allows an organized and systematic analysis. These research results can provide useful, credible and timely input into the urban planning process. This study will be a helpful exercise to draw some policy implications of other cities in Korea and also East Asia that are in a similar stage with the these cities and developing plans on how to address them.

GC에서 검출한계 결정을 위한 새로운 접근 방법에 대한 연구 (Study on the new approaching method to determine limit of detection by gas chromatography)

  • The purity methods to determine LOD/LOQ using standard deviation of the residual, intercept and blank by IUPAC and ACS describe many of the pitfalls and pose significant challenges to analytical chemists. Therefore, the aim of this study is the development of the simple, easy, convenient and statistically significant method to determine LOD in quantitative analysis of organic solvents by GC. The new approaching method by linearization in the given concentration range used coefficient of variation ; ${\sigma}_{n-1}$/S(standard deviation, ${\sigma}_{n-1}$ and average, S) of sensitivity(Response/concentration). The comparison of results among the purity methods(IUPAC and ACS) and the linearization have been fulfilled the F-test for standard deviations and t-test for LOD range values. The results of F-test and t-test are satisfied within 95 % confidence level, respectably. The LOD values determined by the new procedure are n-Hexane 0.0116 mg/$m^3$, Toluene 0.0807 mg/$m^3$, and o-Xylene 0.0494 mg/$m^3$. Because the standard deviation of the residual, intercept and blank and the slope of calibration curve are not calculated and the new approaching method use the coefficient of variation of sensitivity by linearization, this new method is simple, easy, convenient and statistically significant. In future, many chemical analysts will expect to applicate and routinely use this method in the all quantitative analysis.

The Study on Creative Tutoring Service Design to Improve Self-presentation and Learning Abilities for Kids Focusing on Visual Association and Storytelling

  • Objective: The goal of this study is to design a creative tutoring service, which helps children gain confidence and creativity through learning activities. Background: Nowadays most kids are growing up in a very competitive environment under their parents' zeal for education. A stressful environment can deter a child from the confident undertaking of challenges, leading to depression, anxiety, and feelings of inadequacy. Art therapy helps children work through these issues, however the process led by instructors or parents, and kids still feel anxious studying adults' face to read their thought. Method: To help children address challenges, a creative tutoring service application can provide images with certain tasks instead of asking them to fill in blank areas. The tasks asked by the service system are 1) to visualize children's own experience utilizing visually associated images from given images and 2) to create an illustrated story modifying and re-composing given images. Another task is to learn basic math and words with numbers and alphabets in customized colors. By completing each task children collect awards, which allow them graduate to higher levels of challenges. The outcomes from the tasks are sent to the main server system and reviewed by analysts. Those results are sent to children's parents as a text message on smart phone. Results: Visual implication using images inspires children to make creative stories based on their own experience. Also, children can find their own patterns of reaching answers by using synaesthetic imagery through repetitive practices of creative thinking tasks. Conclusion: Understanding how they feel about doing tasks in certain environments and assessing them in varied situations should be carefully considered when designers approach service design for kids. By focusing on how to tutor children in creative ways, as opposed to focusing on the expected outcome, creative service applications can be designed to reduce children's stress and encourage self expression. Children are predicted to gain confidence through using the service without the concern of comparison by others. Application: The creative tutoring service needs to be developed and tested by varying types of children.

중국의 전력소비와 경제성장의 인과관계 분석 (A Causality Analysis of Electricity Consumption and Economic Growth in China)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중국의 전력소비와 경제성장의 인과관계를 분석하고 그 방향을 확인하여 정책적 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기위해 1971년~2008년 동안의 연간자료를 사용하여 단위근 검정, 공적분 검정, 오차수정모형을 통한 Granger-인과검정을 하였다. 검정결과 중국의 전력소비와 경제 성장사이에는 장, 단기적 양방향 인과성이 발견되었다. 이러한 결과는 중국의 정책분석가에게 몇 가지 유용한 시사점을 제공한다. 첫째: "경제가 발전하려면 전력이 선행해야 한다."라는 중국의 발전전략이 지금도 유효하다. 즉 전력소비의 증가는 경제성장을 촉진한다. 물론 경제성장에 미치는 다른 요인들이 존재하고 전력은 그 일부분이지만 경제성장을 하기위해서는 안정적인 전력공급이 필요하다. 둘째: 본 연구는 실질 GDP의 증가가 전력소비를 늘린다는 주장도 성립함을 확인하였다. 이는 직관적으로 소득이 늘어나면 보다 많은 전력을 필요로 하는 제품사용이나 수요가 증가할 것이다.
