Segmented block copolyetheresters defined as copolymers having sequences of alternating polyester hard blocks and polyether soft blocks create labile physical cross-links upon crystallization of hard polyester blocks Since the nature of the physical interlocking is a crystallite formed exclusively from the crystallizable hard segment, the hard segment content (HSC) and hard segment length (HSL) will play an important role in determining the properties such as mechanical property and dynamic mechanical property. A multi-echelon structure of manufacturing and distribution system in considered, where the raw materials are transformed into a finished good through a number to manufacturing echelons and it is distributed to the lower echelons(retailers, or customers). The raw material, work-in-process, finished good inventory and the distribution costs are unified into one model. The objective is to determine the ordering policy of raw materials, manufacturing lot size, the number of sub-batch and the distribution policy of the finished good which minimize the annual total system cost. A computer program for a heuristic search technique is developed, by which a numerical example is examined.

Parametric study fur the cooling characteristic investigation of a notebook PC mounted with heat spreader has been numerically performed. Two oases of air-blowing and air-exhaust at inlet were tested. The cooling effect on Parameters such an, velocities of air-blowing and air-exhaust, materials of heat spreader, and CPU powers were simulated for two cases. Cooling performance in the case of air-blowing was better than the case of air-exhaust.

As the products which innovated usability have succeeded in the market, the usability of products is now considered as a new dimension of product design. This paper deals with the following questions: How has usability been embedded in the design and development of products? In the usability context, why have some breakthrough products succeeded commercially and others failed? What should be learned from the successes and the failures? For the purpose of discussing these questions, the photography industry was examined and the results were used as an illustration of the important points.
