지형면과 수문지질단위 분류를 이용한 북한의 지하수 부존량 추정 (Estimation of the Available Amount of Groundwater using Classifications of Landforms and Hydrogeological Units in N. Korea)

  • This study was conducted to provide the preliminary data on preparation for policy decisions regarding the groundwater supply scheme for N. Korea vulnerable to drought. Agricultural activities oriented to upland field due to the mountainous terrain more than 79% as well as the diversity of rainfall distribution over the country make more vulnerable to structural problems in the drought in N. Korea. Therefore, in anticipation of the expansion of exchange policies in agricultural sector, the available amount of groundwater needed for sustainable water resources supply was estimated for each administrative district after analyzing alluvium and hydrogeology distribution in N. Korea. Overall, the available amount of groundwater was estimated to 22.3 billion m3 (0.18 million m3/km2). The available amount of groundwater per unit area in Ryanggangdo and Gaesungsi was appeared very high in each of 0.56 and 0.39 million m3/km2, respectively, and it would be interpreted that two districts have relatively wide area of volcanic rocks and alluvium with highly permeable characteristics, respectively. Finally, to maximize the utilization of this study result, the available amount of groundwater distribution map was developed on the basis of the 1 × 1 km grid network over the entire N. Korea.

Prediction of the Corona 19's Domestic Internet and Mobile Shopping Transaction Amount

  • Purpose: In this work, we examine several time series models to predict internet and mobile transaction amount in South Korea, whereas Jeong (2020) has obtained the optimal forecasts for online shopping transaction amount by using time series models. Additionally, optimal forecasts based on the model considered can be calculated and applied to the Corona 19 situation. Research design, data, and methodology: The data are extracted from the online shopping trend survey of the National Statistical Office, and homogeneous and comparable in size based on 46 realizations sampled from January 2007 to October 2020. To achieve the goal of this work, both multiplicative ARIMA model and Holt-Winters Multiplicative seasonality method are taken into account. In addition, goodness-of-fit measures are used as crucial tools of the appropriate construction of forecasting model. Results: All of the optimal forecasts for the next 12 months for two online shopping transactions maintain a pattern in which the slope increases linearly and steadily with a fixed seasonal change that has been subjected to seasonal fluctuations. Conclusions: It can be confirmed that the mobile shopping transactions is much larger than the internet shopping transactions for the increase in trend and seasonality in the future.

Factors Affecting Restaurant Consumers' Tipping Behavior

  • This study examines the relationship between tip amount and its possible antecedents: bill size, the Big Five personality types, meal type, food quality, atmosphere, service quality, consumer gender, server gender, customer hospitality experience, race, and alcohol consumption. A survey of southeastern undergraduate students was conducted to collect information about the customer, server and customer tipping habits. While the analysis suggests that service is an important factor, it shows that other factors affect tip amount. Furthermore, these factors affect tip amounts in many different ways. Some examples of these factors include bill size, alcohol consumption, gender dynamics, meal type, food quality, and personality type. The conclusion suggests the intuition behind these factors by providing a dissection of their meaning and their importance to servers, customers, and managers alike. Purpose: This study tests restaurant customer tipping habits and some personality traits that have received limited previous attention as predictors of tipping. Methods: This study is that the tip amount was self-reported, business students at a university in a large southeastern city of USA were asked to complete a tipping journal. Results: This study was able to replicate the service-tipping relationship. Moreover, this study reiterated that server friendliness is a very powerful tool to increasing tips. Conclusion: This study strongly indicate that service has a positive relationship with tip amount, and also produce a positive relationship with emotional stability and a negative relationship to conscientiousness.

학습 보조 도구로서 온톨로지 검색 모델의 효과 분석 (An Analysis of the Effect of an Ontology-Based Information Searching Model as a Supplementary Learning Tool)

  • 본 연구에서는 온톨로지기반의 정보검색 모델이 프로젝트를 수행하기 위해 필요한 정보를 학생들이 검색하는데 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과는 온톨로지 기반의 검색에 의해 검색된 관련 정보의 양이 기존의 검색에 의한 것보다 더 많음을 볼 수 있었다. 뿐만 아니라, 온톨로지 기반의 검색에 의해 찾아진 북마크 정보의 관련성 비율이 기존의 검색 방법에 비해 높음을 알 수 있었다. 학생들의 인터뷰 결과에 의하면 온톨로지 기반의 검색 모델은 프로젝트 수행을 위한 자료를 검색하는 데 매우 유용했으며, 이에 따라 그들이 프로젝트를 보다 쉽게 수행할 수 있도록 도움이 되었음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 온톨로지기반 검색 모델에서 제공하는 학습 개념들간의 관련성 정보는 검색뿐만 아니라 한 학습 주제에 관련된 학습 개념들을 이해하는데도 도움을 주었음을 알 수 있었다.

Study on Consumer Exposure to Sun Spray and Sun Cream in South Korea

  • When conducting risk assessments of cosmetic ingredients, it is important that reliable exposure information is obtained for cosmetic products. As cosmetics are becoming more diverse, continuous effort must be made to obtain exposure data that reflect their growth and usage trends. The usage pattern of cosmetics, such as the application area and amount used, may differ by product type and also by country. We conducted a survey to compare the amount of sun spray and sun cream used in a usage environment in South Korea. The study was conducted on Haeundae Beach, one of the most popular beaches in South Korea. A total of 1,255 beachgoers participated in this study; 604 and 651 participants used the sun spray and sun cream, respectively, while sunbathing and enjoying water activities on the beach for one day. Exposure was analyzed following a probabilistic method. On comparing all subjects, it was found that the group that used sun spray (mean: 44.52 g/day) used significantly more product (p = 0.000) than those who used sun cream (mean: 20.51 g/day). By analyzing the daily exposure of sun spray and sun cream per unit body weight according to age and gender, the exposure amount of sun spray and sun cream was found to be highest among 2~9 year-old girls (mean for sun spray: 2.51 g/kg/day, p95: 5.50 g/kg/day, mean for sun cream: 0.79 g/kg/day, p95: 1.79 g/kg/day). The amount of sun spray used is approximately twice that of sun cream. Among both the sun spray and sun cream groups, the exposure amount per unit body weight was highest in girls younger than 10. These factors should be considered when conducting risk assessments of sun spray and sun cream.

Grid Discretization Study for the Efficient Aerodynamic Analysis of the Very Light Aircraft (VLA) Configuration

  • In this research the development of unstructured grid discretization solution techniques is presented. The purpose is to describe such a conservative discretization scheme applied for experimental validation work. The objective of this paper is to better establish the effects of mesh generation techniques on velocity fields and particle deposition patterns to determine the optimal aerodynamic characteristics. In order to achieve the objective, the mesh surface discretization approaches used the VLA prototype manufacturing tolerance zone of the outer surface. There were 3 schemes for this discretization study implementation. They are solver validation, grid convergence study and surface tolerance study. A solver validation work was implemented for the simple 2D and 3D model to get the optimum solver for the VLA model. A grid convergence study was also conducted with a different growth factor and cell spacing, the amount of mesh can be controlled. With several amount of mesh we can get the converged amount of mesh compared to experimental data. The density around surface model can be calculated by controlling the number of element in every important and sensitive surface area of the model. The solver validation work result provided the optimum solver to employ in the VLA model analysis calculation. The convergence study approach result indicated that the aerodynamic trend characteristic was captured smooth enough compared with the experimental data. During the surface tolerance scheme, it could catch the aerodynamics data of the experiment data. The discretization studies made the validation work more efficient way to achieve the purpose of this paper.

  • 인터넷 기술이 급속한 발전함에 따라 인터넷은 대용량의 웹 문서, 과학기술 문서 및 DB 등으로 점점 더 복잡하게 구성되고 있다. 대용량의 웹 문서, 과학기술 문서 및 DB 등을 효율적으로 검색 및 관리 지원하기 위해서는 분산시스템이 요구되어진다. 이러한 분산 시스템은 사용자에게는 대용량의 정보를 보다 빠르고 정확하게 검색을 지원해야한다. 또한 분산 시스템은 관리자 측면에서도 관리가 보다 용이해야한다. 본 논문에서는 과학기술정보 문서를 효율적 검색과 관리를 목적으로 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 본 논문에서는 대용량의 과학기술 정보 시스템을 이용하여 구현된 분산 시스템의 검색 성능을 실험하고 그 결과를 비교 분석하였다.

도서관 재정확충을 위한 기본조성에 관한 연구 (The Study about Library Fund program for the expansion of Library Finance)

  • 본 연구는 도서관 및 독서진흥법상에 기금의 조성방법으로 명시된 다음과 같은 방법으로 도서관의 재정확충을 위한 방안을 모색하였다. 첫째, 정부출연금은 국가가 매년 예산에 반영하는 것으로서 통상 기금출연액인 100억원을 출연하는 방안을 제시하였다. 둘째, 다른기금으로부터의 전입금은 한국마사회기금과 정보화촉진기금으로부터 출연을 받기위한 근거와 재원을 각종 자료를 근거로 최소 년50억씩 출연할 수 있는 안을 모색하였다. 셋째, 복권발행을 통한 년간 50억이상의 기금마련 방안을 제시하였다. 이 세가지 방안을 통하여 연간 200억이상, 6년동안 총 1,200억원의 기금조성 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 미국에서 다양하게 시행되고 있는 기부금모집의 현황과 유형을 제시함으로써 도서관법상에 명시되어 있는 법인, 단체 또는 개인의 기부금모집 활동에 참고가 되도록 하였다.

GOP 기반의 적응적 인터 예측을 이용한 다시점 비디오의 효율적인 H.264/AVC 부호화 (An Efficient H.264/AVC Encoding Using GOP Based Adaptive Inter Prediction)

  • 본 논문에서는 H.264/AVC의 다시점 비디오 부호화의 고속화 방법을 제안한다. 다시점 비디오는 부호화해야 할 데이터의 양이 일반 비디오보다 더 많으며, 전형적인 비디오 부호화 방법에서 사용하는 인터-움직임 예측에 덧붙여 인터-부등 예측을 이용하기 때문에 예측해야할 정보가 막대하게 커진다. 실험을 통해 비디오 부호화에서 사용되는 각 예측의 효율이 인트라, 인터-부돈, 인터-움직임 그리고 인터-skip 순으로 점점 좋아진다는 점에 착안하여 각 GOP 단위로 적응적인 문턱값을 계산하여 인터-부등 및 인트라 예측을 조기 종료하는 고속화 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 실험 결과 제안하는 방법은 여러 실험 비디오에 대해서 기존의 방법에 비해 약 32%가량 개선된 연산 속도를 보였으며, 비트량 및 왜곡의 증가는 상대적으로 적었다.
