  • In Korea, rural community has been becomming unstable by declining of agriculture. In order to solve this problem, there were some trials to activate rural communities by maintaining rural amenities. But, it is difficult to use rural amenities as a development factor to promote rural communities because there are few researches about quantifying rural amenities. In this study, a method fer quantifying rural amenities is suggested using database normalization technique. Previous thirty seven surveying items of rural amenity resources are formally reduced to five common surveying items, seven resources, and eleven surveying tables. Finally, big picture of rural amenity resource map with surveying data for rural development is suggested.

  • This survey is focused on analyzing amenity resources for the purpose of offering basic sources for balanced development and the activation of sightseeing in Anmyen-island which has superior landscape resources and the result follows as this. 1. As a result of selecting "Amenities characterized in isles" and comparing their applications in order to choose amenity resource surveying method which is suitable for the isle districts where beaches, tidelands, fishing villages and so on are formed, it was considered that the surveying method of the rural amenity resource in the Korean Society of Rural Planning could be properly used. 2. In spite of a variety of amenity resources besides ten beaches, Anmyeon-island has been developed only focused on beaches. Therefore, it is highly recommended to develop new sightseeing courses which connect beaches with adjacent amenity resources such as theme programs. 3. It proved that compared with Anmyeoneup, Gonammyeon has superior landscape resources and higher special product rates, which is caused by the fact that it doesn't have various kinds of amenities. As diverse fish inhabit the sea and tidelands in Gonammyeon, it is beneficial for activating sightseeing tours to develop fishing village experiencing programs including going fishing. 4. Anmyen-island can be divided into East district and West distict by the national road no,77 and two districts have different distributional features of sightseeing amenity resources. In the west district, amenity resources such as coastal sightseeing routes, large event halls, and resorts have been activated in addition to fourteen beaches which have already been developed while the amenity resources in the east like fishing villages, tidelands, and salt fields have not been activated. Accordingly, for activating balanced sightseeing development in Amyeon-island, it is required to make plans which can incorporate the east amenity resources of sea sightseeing and the west amenity resources of fishing village experiencing programs. As a way, constructing sightseeing routes connecting the west and the east district or making a detour lane connecting beaches in the west, Anmyeon pine trees in the center, and fishing villages in the east.

  • This research is based on a rural village reconstruction business that is a priority under the national support act for rural village vitalization. Allowing for an analysis of the regional and annual classification of business contents as part of the master district implementation plan, this research presents amenity resource applications for the purpose of understanding the business contents and resource status reports. To analyze the utilization of amenity resources in the rural villages' overall development business, a content analysis of the business characteristics and resources of 299 districts was conducted for a seven-year period (2005-2011). Information that included district names, enterprise types, and specifications of a particular business, were coded in Excel, through exhaustive research of the 299 districts. Using this process, a more detailed categorization of seven years of business data, periodic, and regional business contents were defined. As a result of this research, it is apparent that the overall district's facility resources are optimized for the most, and that the environmental management of resources, including animal and plant resources, as well as water resources, is continuously decreasing, as was shown in the annual amenity resource usage transition. The annual amenity resource usage transition data denotes the highest rates in Jun-Ra-Buk-Do and Kyung-Sang-Buk-Do. In summary, this analysis verified the urgent need for diverse amenity resource utilization, research on practical alternatives, and the resource optimization of environmental controls for sustainable development in rural areas.

We focused on the identification of the amenity value of reservoir in the rural area and the economic evaluation for establishing This study aimed at analyzing the economic effect of outdoor swimming pool investment using the reservoir's amenity resources. We focused on the identification of the amenity value of reservoir in the rural area and the economic evaluation for establishing infrastructure such as swimming pool based on the reservoir's landscape value. To this end, we have conducted the case study on the outdoor swimming pool in connection with Go-Bok reservoir in Yeon-Gi county, Chungnam Province and estimated its income effect on the rural community by cost-benefit analysis method. The research results are as follows; 1) Outdoor swimming pool participants, with 11,581 visitors totaled to Yeon-gi county every year, was estimated to spend the worth of 58,446 thousand won paid for the agricultural product purchase and etc. 2) Internal rate return of the outdoor swimming pool project was estimated to 16.19%, which considered to be economically feasible comparing with 10% of current capital opportunity cost. Based on the results of this study, we suggest the following strategies for development of amenity value of swimming pool in connected with the reservoir; 1) Reservoir amenities should be well preserved even after construction of swimming pool lest losing amenity values while managing the facilities. 2) Measures to increase the marketing value of intangible reservoir's amenities through promotion should be established. 3) Effective program for more visitors with longer staying and more agricultural products sales should be designed.

  • This study aims to develop an evaluation method of green-tourism potential in village level with amenity resources of rural villages, considering human resources of the village. The amenity resources evaluation system was classified into three sub-classes with social, industrial, and natural resources. The system consisted of a relationship diagram between three classes resources and tourists' behavior. The new methodology considers human resources as a key factor for green-tourism potential evaluation of villages, including the amenity resources of three sub-classes. In quantitative method for the criteria, this study adopted a new method of continuous linear score method, which is applying fuzzy theory, not to give score with the existing discrete scoring method with several steps. The weighting values of the evaluation criteria were calculated from the step wise pair-comparision results by AHP(Analytic Hierachy Process) method, which industrial, natural, and social resources have relative weighting values of 523/1000, 319/1000, and 158/1000, respectively. In evaluation of another weighting value by the same methodology, the results showed that the amenity and the human resources have weighting values of 627/100 and 373/1000, respectively. The new evaluation method was applied to make the potential evaluation for rural villages of the study area, which located on Narial-myun, Keumsan-gun, Chungnam province. The development priority among the villages could be suggested reasonably by the new findings of this study, according to the evaluation results showing that the village with high possibility for development in green-tourism has high score in the potential evaluation.
