새로운 채소류의 고구마뿌리혹선충과 땅콩뿌리혹선충에 대한 저항성 (Resistance of Newly Introduced Vegetables to Meloidogyne arenaria and M. incognita in Korea)

  • 새로운 채소류를 뿌리혹선충이 감염된 시설재배지에 윤작작물로 추천하기 위하여 7과 13속, 25종, 총 39품종을 고구마뿌리혹선충과 땅콩뿌리혹선충을 대상으로 저항성을 검정하였다. 2종류의 뿌리혹선충에 모두 감수성인 것은 비름과(Amaranthaceae)의 아마란서스와 근대, 낙규과(Basellaceae)의 바우세, 피나무과(Tiliaceae)의 모로헤이야, 메꽃과(Convolvulaceae)의 공심채, 십자화의 청경채, 홍채태(Brassica campestris var. chinensis), 다채(B. campestris var. narinosa), '다청채'(B. campestris var. chinensis x narinosa), 갓, 곱슬겨자(B. juncea), 교나(B. juncea var. laciniate), 채심(B. rapa subsp. arachinenesis), 가이란(B. oleracea var. alboglabra), 로케트샐러드(Eruca sativa), 국화과(Asteraceae)의 쑥갓(Chrysanthemum coronarium), 엔다이브(Cichorium endivia), 아티쵸크(Cynara cardunculus var. scolymus), 상추(Lactuca sativa)였다. M. incognita에는 저항성이나 M. arenaria에는 감수성인 것은 십자화과의 케일(B. oleracea) cv. 맛짱, 콜라비(B. oleracea var. gongyloides) cv. 적콜라비, 치커리(C. intybus) cv. 적치커리였다. 두 종류의 뿌리혹선충에 모두 저항성인 것은 치커리(C. intybus) cv. 슈가로프, 구루모, 통콘네로네(radichio treviso), 십자화과의 케일(B. oleracea) cv. 만추콜라드, 슈퍼맛짱 브로콜리(B. oleracea italica), 잎브로콜리(B. oleracea var. botrytis italiana), 꿀풀과(Lamiaceae)의 차즈기, 들깨였다. 2종류의 뿌리혹선충에 모두 저항성인 채소류는 뿌리혹선충이 감염된 시설재배지에서 부가가치가 높은 저항성 윤작작물로 사용이 가능할 것이다.

Comparative Analysis of Chloroplast Genome of Dysphania ambrosioides (L.) Mosyakin & Clemants Understanding Phylogenetic Relationship in Genus Dysphania R. Br.

  • Dysphania ambrosioides (L.) Mosyakin & Clemants which belongs to Chenopodiaceae/Amaranthaceae sensu in APG system has been known as a useful plant in various fields as well as an invasive species spreading all over the world. To understand its phylogenetic relationship with neighbour species, we completed chloroplast genome of D. ambrosioides collected in Korea. Its length is 151,689 bp consisting of four sub-regions: 83,421 bp of large single copy (LSC) and 18,062 bp of small single copy (SSC) regions are separated by 25,103 bp of inverted repeat (IR) regions. 128 genes (84 protein-coding genes, eight rRNAs, and 36 tRNAs) were annotated. The overall GC content of the chloroplast genome is 36.9% and those in the LSC, SSC and IR regions are 34.9%, 30.3%, and 42.7%, respectively. Distribution of simple sequence repeats are similar to those of the other two Dysphania chloroplasts; however, different features can be utilized for population genetics. Nucleotide diversity of Dysphania chloroplast genomes 18 genes including two ribosomal RNAs contains high nucleotide diversity peaks, which may be genus or species-specific manner. Phylogenetic tree presents that D. ambrosioides occupied a basal position in genus Dysphania and phylogenetic relation of tribe level is presented clearly with complete chloroplast genomes.

Holocene Environmental Change and Human Impact in Hoya Rincon de Parangueo, Guanajuato, Mexico

  • This paper presents a paleoenvironmental study on Hoya Rincon do Parangueo, a maar lake in Valle de Santiago in Central Mexican Bajio. Maar lake sediments have been widely used for high-resolution reconstruction of paleoenvironment. Many different paleoenvironmental proxy data such as stable isotopes, pollen, sediment chemistry, and dung fungus spore were produced in this study. The pine-oak ratio, stable isotopes, and sediment chemistry help to reveal paleoenviromental changes throughout the whole period covered by sediment materials from this study site. The evidence I found indicates that during ca. 9,500 $\sim$ ca. 8,300 cal yr B.P. there was dry climate; during ca. 8,300 $\sim$ ca. 6,300 cal yr B.P. it was wetter; during ca. 6,300 $\sim$ ca. 4,000 cal yr B.P. drier and cooler; during ca. 4,000 $\sim$ ca. 1,100 cal yr B.P. milder and wetter. The presence of Chupicuaro culture between ca. 2,500 $\sim$ 1,100 cal yr B.P. is implied by the high frequencies of Amaranthaceae and Zea mars. It seems that man left this lake around 1,100 cal yr B.P. due to a dry climate after 1,300 cal yr B.P. Spanish arrival around 400 cal yr B.P. is implied by the fact that fe3 mars reappears and Sporormiella spp. become significant around 120 cm, whereas Poaceae drops sharply.

한국 미기록 귀화식물: 긴털비름(Amaranthus hybridus)과 나도민들레 (Crepis tectorum) (Two new naturalized species from Korea, Amaranthus hybridus and Crepis tectorum)

  • 서울 난지도와 강원도 평창군 진부면 동산리 등에서 우리나라 미기록 귀화식물 2종을 발견하였다. 긴털비름(비름과)으로 이름 붙인 Amaranthus hybridus는 서울 난지도 월드컵공원에서 처음 확인되었으며 전국적으로 분포하고, 유사종인 털비름 및 가는털비름과 비교하여 개화기가 9-10월로 늦고, 잎에 털이 성기게 나고 화피편과 열매의 길이가 거의 같으며, 꽃차례가 분지하지 않고 길게 발달하는 특징으로 구분되었다. 또한 나도민들레로 이름 붙인 Crepis tectorum (국화과)는 속 자체가 우리나라에 처음 확인된 종류로 강원도 평창군 진부와 월정사 입구에서 집단적으로 발견되었으며 분포가 확산 추세에 있다.

우슬(牛膝)의 관절염(關節炎) 치료(治療) 효능(效能)에 관(關)한 서지학적(書誌學的) 고찰(考察) (A Bibliographic Study on the Therapeutic Effects of Achyranthis Radix in Arthritis)

  • According to herbalogical bibligraphy and literature, therapeutic effects of Achyranthis Radix on arthritis was as follows, 1. Achyranthis Radix of Amaranthaceae is divided into five species-Achyranthes japonica, A. bidentata, A. longifolia, A. fauriei, Cyathula capitata, C. officialis and the characteristic, taste, channel entry, effects and main treatments were alike. 2. Winefrying stood for repairing treatement method for Achyranthis Radix Before repairing treatment method, Achyranthis Radix had three tastes(bitter, sour, and sweet) and calm and not poisoning characteristic. After repairing treatment method, the bitter taste was disappeared, and calm and not poisoning characteristic was changed into warm characteristic. 3. Effects of Achyranthis Radix were quicking the blood and dispelling stasis, liver-kidney supplement and strengthening musculo-skeletal system. Main treatments were relief of lumbar and knee joint pain, static menstrural block and wind-cold- damp impediment. 4. Contraindication of Achyranthis Radix was sympthom caused by spleen-kidney yang vacuity, upper burner disease and lower burner hemorrhage etc. Being used in pregnant woman, it could incur abortion. 5. Contraindication of Achyranthis Radix was beef, milk and mutton. It's fear was Radix Cynanchi Stauntonii and Semen Plantaginis. It's aversion was the firefly. Herba Taraxaci, Carapax Amydae, Carapax Testudinis and Radix Cynanchi Stauntonii. From above results, I suppose Achyranthis Radix has enough herbalogical foundation and could be used to treat arthritis and it is necessary to make a profound study of it.

아프리카산 식물체 추출물의 벼멸구 및 점박이응애에 대한 살충 및 살비활성 (Insecticidal and Acaricidal Activities of African Plant Extracts against the Brown Planthopper and Two-Spotted Spider Mite)

  • 아프리카 나이제르산 13관 21종 식물체의 부위별로 채집된 31 시료 메탄올 추출물의 벼멸구에 대한 살충활성 및 점박이이응애에 대한 살비활성을를 가각 미량국소처리법과 잎침지법으로 조사한 결고, 시료의 부위 및 종에 따라 살충 및 살비활성에 커다란 차이를 보였다. Caesalpinacras과의 Cassia occidentalis와 Cassia tora 전부위 및 Mimosaceas 과의 Prosopis chinensts줄기의 메탄올 추출물은 벼멸구에 대해서 강한 살충활성을 보인 반면, 비름과의 Celosia trigyna 전부위, Combretaceae과의 Combretum glutinotum 잎과 Combretum micronthum 전부위 및 Prosopis chinensis 잎과 열매의 메탄올 추출물은 점박이응애에 대해 강한 살비활성을 나타내었다.

New Frontiers of Knowledge on Nepalese Plant Science

  • Nepal, with its unique geographical and ecological features due to its abrupt rise in altitude, plays significant role in biological evolution. Existence of numerous wild relatives of the present-day cultivated agricultural crop plants in this small Himalayan nation may serve as a potential source of several yet unidentified desirable genes that are needed for future incorporation in the improvement of cultivated crop plants. This report includes 82 different wild relatives of 41 genera under 19 families of 37 agricultural crops of Nepal(Table 1). It serves as the sample of the glossary of these wild relatives of crop plants in Nepal. Under food grain crop plants of gramineae, leguminoceae and polygonaceae families, 16 different wild species namely wild rices(7 species), wild relatives of wheat plant(3 species), wild arhar(3 species), wild fingermillets(1 species) and wild buckwheat(2 species) have been identified in different parts of the country. Similarly, under vegetable crop plants of Araceae, Amaranthaceae, Crucifereae, Cucurbitaceae, Dioscoreaceae, Labiteae, Leguminosae, Liliaceae, Malvaceae, Polygonaceae, Solanaceae and Umbellifereae, 37 different wild species-wild colocasia(1 species), wild amaranths(3 species), wild leafy vegetables(2 species), wild gourds(3 species), wild cucumber(1 species), wild yams(4 species), wild mints(3 species), wild fenugreeks(4 species), wild pea(1 species), wild beans(3 species), wild garlics(2 species), wild spinach(3 species), wild lady's finger(1 species), wild spinach(3 species), wild eggplants(2 species) and wild carrot(one species) have also been identified. In case of wild relatives of cultivated orchard plants, 11 different wild species namely wild mango(one species), wild banana(one species), wild strawberry(one species), wild pear(one species), wild cherries(2 species), wild apple(one species) and wild grapes(3 species) have been identified, Among 19 different wild species of economic crop plants, five wild species of sugarcane, one species of wild sunhemp, two wild relatives of cotton, three wild relatives of rose, two wild species of tobacco, four wild species of turmeric and two wild species of tea have also been identified. This report includes only sample of the total wild species of the present-day cultivated agricultural crop plants. Further exploration on this economic botany will help the country in cataloging the wild relatives of cultivated crop plants and their future use in crop improvement.

Medicinal plant diversity in the southern and eastern Gobi Desert region, Mongolia

  • Background: The southern and eastern parts of the Gobi Desert area are a unique dry ecosystem with a diverse regional desert, semi-desert, and mountain dry steppe flora. This area habitat is located at the overlap of different floristic regions; on its northeast side, Central Asian desert flora is dominating, and on the eastern side, East Asian flora is observed. The comprehensive survey was carried out to find the floral diversity of the medicinal plants on the region. Methods: All recorded species in this study were based on the collected voucher specimens between June and August in the year 2017. Results: We recorded 23 families, 57 genera, and 78 species of vascular plants. The families Asteraceae (15 species), Fabaceae (10 species), and Amaranthaceae (10 species) were represented most in the study area, while Caragana (5 species), Salsola (4 species), and Arnebia (3 species) were the most common genera found. Conclusion: Conservation status for remarkable species was also reviewed based on the literature. Around the study area, 24 species as "sub-endemic," 10 species as "very rare," 4 species as "rare," 1 species as "alien," 13 species as "relict," 10 species as "Red Book," 2 species as "endangered (EN)," 3 species as "vulnerable (VU)," 3 species as "near threatened (NT)," and 2 species as "least concern (LC)" plants are growing.

국내 브루그만시아에서 분리한 Brugmansia mosaic virus의 특성 (Characterization of Brugmansia mosaic virus Isolated from Brugmansia spp. in Korea)

  • 2013년 5월, 경기도 수원시에서 모자이크와 기형의 병징을 보이는 천사의 나팔꽃 잎을 채집하였다. 채집한 시료는 전자현미경을 이용하여 검경한 결과 720-800 nm 길이의 사상형 입자가 관찰되었다. 전자현미경 검경 결과에 근거하여 기보고된 3종의 바이러스(Brugmansia mosaic virus, Colombian datura virus, Brugmansia suaveolens mottle virus)에 대하여 RT-PCR을 수행하였으며, BruMV에 양성반응을 보였다. 기계적 접종을 이용하여 BruMV의 병원성과 기주범위를 결정하였다. 가지과(담배, 토마토, 가지)와 비름과(땅꽈리)에서 전형적인 바이러스 병징이 나타났다. BruMV의 외피단백질을 결정하기 위하여 특이적 프라이머를 설계하였고, PCR, 클로닝, 시퀀싱을 수행하였다. 계통수 분석 결과, BruMV-SW는 BruMV SK와 가장 유사한 것으로 나타났다. 외피단백질을 이용한 뉴클레오타이드 상동성 비교에서는 BruMV 분리주와 92%와 99%의 상동성을 보였다.

쇠무릎 에탄올 추출물의 DPPH, 히알루로니다아제 및 리폭시게나아제 저해 효과 (Evaluation of Achyranthes japonica Ethanol Extraction on the Inhibition Effect of Hyluronidase and Lipoxygenase)

  • 우슬(牛膝)은 비름과(Amaranthaceae)의 쇠무릎(Achyranthes japonica)의 뿌리를 약용으로 한방에서 사용하고 있다. 1, 1- diphenyl 2-picrylhyorazyl (DPPH)은 잘 알려진 자유 라디칼이다. Hyaluronidase (HAase)은 결합조직의 세포외성 기질에서 히알루론산분해에 관여하는 효소이다. Lipoxygenases (LOX)은 지방산 대사와 면역에 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 본 연구에서는 쇠무릎에서 이 세 작용을 에탄올 추출물을 사용하여 생육 발달 단계(어린 영양기관과 성숙한 영양기관)에 대해 이들 추출물의 활성을 비교 조사하였으며 각 항목에 대해 50% 저해(IC50)의 농도를 산출하였다. 항산화 활성은 잎과 줄기, 뿌리 모두에서 탁월되었다. 특히 히알루로니다아제의 저해작용이 현저하였으며 향후 어떤 화합물인지 심도 있는 연구가 필요하다고 판단되었다. DPPH에 대한 항산화 활성과 LOX에 대한 저해작용은 기존 연구자의 결과와 유사하였다. 어린 식물조직과 성숙한 식물조직에서 추출한 발달 단계에 따른 이들 세 가지 활성에서 어린 뿌리보다 성숙한 뿌리에서 약간 더 우수한 작용을 보였으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다.
