스테인리스-알루미늄 클래드 강판재의 원형컵 온간 성형성 연구 (Investigation of Formability of Cylindrical Cups in Warm Drawing of Stainless-Aluminum Clad Sheet Metal)

  • Warm, forming technique which is one of the new forming technologies to improve formability of sheet metal is applied to the cylindrical cup drawing of stainless-aluminum. clad sheets. In experiments the temperature of die and blank holder is varied from room temperature to 18$0^{\circ}C$, while the punch is cooled by circulation of coolant to increase the fracture strength of workpiece on the punch corner area. Test materials chosen for experiments are STS304-A1050-STS304, STS304-A1050-STS430 clad sheets and A1050-0 aluminum sheet. Teflon film as a lubricant is used on both sides of a workpiece. The limit drawing ratio as well as quality of drawn cups(distribution of thickness and hardness)are investigated and validity of warm drawing process is also discussed.

  • This study is to investigate the effects of warm deep drawing with aluminum sheets of A1050-H16 and A5052-H32 for improving deep drawability. Experiments for procucing circular cups and square cups were carried out for various working conditions, such as forming temperature and blank shape. The limit drawing ratio(LDR) of 2.63 in warm deep drawing of circular cups in case of A5052-H32 sheet, whereas LDR of A1050-H16 is 2.25, could be obtained and the former was 8 times higher than the value at room temperature. The maximum relative drawing depth for square cups of A5052-H32 material was also about 2 times deeper than the depth drawn at room temperature. The effects of blank shape, and temperature on drawability of aluminum materials as well as thickness distribution of drawn cups were examined and discussed.

  • Anisotropy is closely related to the formability of sheet metal and should be considered carefully for more realistic analysis of actual sheet metal forming operations. In order to better describe anisotropic plastic properties of aluminum alloy sheets, a planar anisotropic yield function which accounts for the anisotropy of uniaxial yield stresses and strain rate ratios simultaneously was proposed recently[1]. This yield function was used in the finite element simulations of cup drawing tests for an aluminum alloy 2008-T4. Isotropic hardening with a fixed initial back stress based on experimental tensile and compressive test results was assumed in the simulation. The computation results were in very good agreement with the experimental results. It was shown that the initial back stress as well as the yield surface shape have a large influence on the prediction of the cup height profile.

  • Rheo-forging process of aluminum alloy is suitable for large parts of net shape without defects and excellent mechanical properties in comparison with conventional die casting and forging process. To control the microstructure of the product with high mechanical properties in rheo-forming, solid fraction is required to prevent porosity and liquid segregation. Therefore, in rheo-forging process, die shape, pressure type and solid fraction are very important parameters. The defects such as porosity, liquid segregation and unfitting phenomena occur during rheo-forging process. To prevent these defects, mechanical properties and microstructure analysis of samples versus the change of pressure are carried out and the problem and its solutions are proposed. Also, the mechanical properties versus various pressures were compared with and without heat treatment. The alloys used for rheo-forming are A356 and 2024 aluminum alloy. The rheology material is fabricated by electromagnetic process with controlling current and stirring time.

등이축인장 모드 변형시 알루미늄 포일 접착강판의 박리한계 예측 (Delamination Limit of Aluminum Foil-Laminated Sheet During Stretch Forming)

  • 알루미늄 포일 접착강판은 접착제를 이용하여 알루미늄 포일을 드로잉용 GI 강판 위에 접착시킨 강판이다. 알루미늄 포일의 박리현상은 알루미늄 포일 강판의 주된 성형불량 중의 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 가전제품의 외관에 활용되는 알루미늄 포일 접착강판의 박리한계를 규명하였다. 알루미늄 포일 접착강판의 박리는 알루미늄 포일과 강판의 접착강도에 의해 결정된다. 알루미늄 접착강판의 박리와 접착강도와의 관계를 분석하기 위해 CZM 을 활용하여 알루미늄 포일 접착강판의 계면접착력에 따른 알루미늄 포일 박리변형률의 변화를 분석하였다. 해석결과, 박리발생의 주원인은 강판의 변형 중 접착계면에서 발생하는 전단응력에 의해 박리가 발생함을 확인하였다. 또한 알루미늄 포일 접착강판의 계면접착력을 측정하여 강판의 등이축인장모드인 스트레치 변형에 따른 박리가 발생하는 한계변형률을 도출하였다. 도출된 알루미늄 포일 접착강판의 박리 한계는 에릭슨 시험을 통해 검증하였다.

  • A new forming technology has been developed to fabricate near-net shape products using light metal. A semi-solid forming technology has some advantages compared with the conventional forming processes such as die casting squeeze casting and hot/cold forging. In this study the numerical analysis of semi-solid filling for a straight die shape and orifice die shape in gate pattern is studied on semi-solid materials(SSM) of solid fraction fs =30% in A356 aluminum alloy. The finite difference program of Navier-Stokes equation coupled with heat transfer and solidification has been developed to predict a filling pattern and the temperature distribution of SSM. The programdeveloped in this study gives die filling patterns of SSM and final solidifica-tion region.

  • The numerical simulation of the Forming Limit Diagram(FLD) test was carried out to calculate the limiting dome height(LDH: ISO12004-2) for aluminum alloy sheet Al6061-T6. The finite element analysis was used as an effective method for evaluating formability and diagnosing possible production problems in sheet stamping operations. To predict fracture during the stamping process, several failure models such as Cockcroft-Latham, Rice-Tracey, Brozzo and ESI-Wilkins-Kamoulakos(EWK) criteria were applied. The predicted results were discussed and compared with the experiments for Al6061-T6.

  • The effect of press warm forming in cylindrical deep drawing of stainless-aluminum clad sheet metals are examined . The temperature of die and blank holder is varied from room temperature to 20$0^{\circ}C$, while the punch is kept cooled during test to increase the fracture strength of workpiece on the punch corner area. The maximum relative drawing depth for square cups of A5020-H32 material was also about 1.92 times deeper than the depth drawn at room temperature. The effects of blank shape and forming temperature on drawability as well as thickness distribution of drawn cups were examined and discussed.

  • The use of aluminum alloy has been interested in the automotive industry, because of its specific strength. And hollow extruded billet is more attractive than solid extruded billet but its forming application has to be precisely processed to satisfy the product quality. In this research, the process design of forming of control arm for the vehicle was studied by press bending process with hollow extruded billet. The middle protrusion portions and the middle cylindrical cup were processed separately according to the analysis. It was concluded that a useful sequence is to bend the side flange and the middle protrusion portions firstly, and then to form the middle cylindrical cup.
