The bioelectrical impedance (BI) at the inner forearms was measured using bioelectrical impedance measurement system (BIMS), which employs the multi-frequency and the two-electrode method. Experiments were performed as follows. First, while applying a constant alternating current of 800A to the inner region of the forearms, BI (Z) was measured at nineteen frequencies ranging from 5 to 500 kHz. The prediction marker (PM) was calculated for right and left forearm. The resistance (R) and the reactance (Xc) were simultaneously measured during impedance measurement. Second, a Cole-Cole plot (relationship between reactance and resistance) was obtained for left and right forearm, indicating the different characteristic frequencies (fc). Third, the phase angle was obtained, indicating strong dependence on the applied frequency.

The effects of amino silane coupling agent on the AC electrical treeing and breakdown behaviors in an epoxy/layered silicate (1 wt%) were examined in needle-plate electrode geometry. A layered silicate was exfoliated in an epoxy base resin by using our AC electric field apparatus. To measure the tree initiation and propagation and the breakdown rate, an alternating current (AC) of 10 kV (60 Hz) was applied to the specimen in needle-plate electrode arrangement with a $30^{\circ}C$ insulating oil bath. In the epoxy/amino silane system, the tree initiation time was 11.5 times higher and the breakdown time was 17.9 times higher than those of the neat epoxy resin. The tree initiation time in the epoxy/layered silicate (1 wt%) system with the amino silane was 2.0 times higher, and the breakdown time was 1.5 times higher than those of the epoxy/layered silicate (1 wt%) system.

The synthesis of Pt nanoparticles and catalytically active materials using the electrochemical top-down approach involves dispersing Pt electrodes in an electrolyte solution containing alkali metal cations and support material powder using an alternating pulsed current. Platinum is dispersed to form particles with a predominant crystallographic orientation of Pt(100) and a particle size of approximately 7.6±1.0 nm. The dispersed platinum particles have an insignificant content of PtOx phase (0.25±0.03 wt.%). The average formation rate was 9.7±0.5 mg cm-2 h-1. The nature of the support (carbon material, metal oxide, carbon-metal oxide hybrid) had almost no effect on the formation rate of the Pt nanoparticles as well as their crystallographic properties. Depending on the nature of the support material, Pt-containing catalytic materials obtained by the electrochemical top-down approach showed good functional performance in fuel cell technologies (Pt/C), catalytic oxidation of CO (Pt/Al2O3) and electrochemical oxidation of methanol (Pt/TiO2-C) and ethanol (Pt/SnO2-C).
Station Blackout(SBO) event means the complete loss of alternating current(AC) electrical power to the essential & nonessential switchgear buses in a nuclear power plants. Since many safety systems in nuclear power plants depend upon alternative current power, the SBO event could be an important contributor to damage of reactor core. Therefore, the SBO events have been considered as a very important safety issues in a nuclear power plants. In this paper, as evaluating the design characteristics of offsite & emergency power systems, an acceptable minimum SBO duration is calculated. And it is presented that the design method for alternative AC(AAC) sources to cope with the SBO events.

An innovative ozonizer has been developed using a high frequency, surface discharge and a high purity Ti-Si-AI ceramic catalyst as a dielectric component. Using a type of thin film, a thin cylindrical compound ceramic catalyst layer was adhered to the outside surface of its inner electrode. An alternating current (AC) exciting voltage with frequencies from 0.6 KHz to 1.0 KHz and peak-to-peak voltages of 4-6 ㎸ was applied between the electrodes to produce a stable high-frequency silent discharge. A substantial reduction of the exciting voltage was also enabled by means of a thin Ti-Si-Al ceramic catalyst tube. As a result, the ozonizer can effortlessly obtain the required ozone concentration (50-60 g/$m^2$ for oxygen) and high ozone efficiency consumption power (180 g/kWh for oxygen) with-out the assistance of any particular methods. For purposes of this experiment, oxygen gas temperature was set at 2$0^{\circ}C$, with an inner reactor pressure of 1.6 atm at 600 Hz and a flow rate of 2 l/min.

The effects of electric field frequency on the ac electrical treeing phenomena in an epoxy/reactive diluent/layered silicate (1.5 wt%) were carried out, in needle-plate electrode arrangement. A layered silicate was exfoliated in an epoxy base resin, by using our ac electric field apparatus. To measure the treeing propagation rate, constant alternating current (AC) of 10 kV with three different electric field frequencies (60, 500 and 1,000 Hz) was applied to the specimen, in needle-plate electrode arrangement, at $30^{\circ}C$ of insulating oil bath. As the electric field frequency increased, the treeing propagation rate increased. At 500 Hz, the treeing propagation rate of the epoxy/PG/nanosilicate system was $0.41{\times}10^{-3}$ mm/min, which was 3.4 times slower than that of the epoxy/PG system. The electrical treeing morphology was dense bush type at 60 Hz; however, as the frequency increased, the bush type was changed to branch type, having few branches, with very slow propagation rate.

Effects of ambient temperature on the ac electrical treeing and breakdown behaviors in an epoxy/layered silicate (1 wt%) were carried out in needle-plate electrode geometry. A layered silicate was exfoliated in an epoxy base resin,, using our ac electric field apparatus. To measure the treeing initiation and propagation, and the breakdown rate, constant alternating current (ac) of 10 kV (60 Hz) was applied to the specimen in a needle-plate electrode arrangement, at $30^{\circ}C$, $90^{\circ}C$ or $130^{\circ}C$ of insulating oil bath. At $30^{\circ}C$, the treeing initiation time and the breakdown time in the epoxy/layered silicate (1 wt%) system were 1.4 times higher than those of the neat epoxy resin. At $90^{\circ}C$ (lower than Tg), electrical treeing was initiated in 55 min, and propagated until 1,390 min at the speed of $0.35{\times}10^{-3}mm/min$, which was 4.4 times higher than that at $30^{\circ}C$; however, there was almost no further treeing propagation after 1,390 min. At $130^{\circ}C$ (higher than Tg), electrical treeing was initiated in 44 min, and propagated until 2,000 min at the speed of $0.96{\times}10^{-3}mm/min$. Typical branch type electrical treeing was obtained from the neat epoxy and epoxy/layered silicate at $30^{\circ}C$, while bush type treeing was observed out from the needle tip at $90^{\circ}C$ and $130^{\circ}C$.

In order to surface Hydrophobilization of Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) fiber samples were treated in the atmosphere of CF$_{4}$ or $C_{2}$F$_{6}$glow discharge. The sample used in this study was PET film which is 75$\mu$m thick made by Teijin, O-Type(Japan). The cleaned samples were placed in plasma reactor made of pyrex glass cylinder, and plasma processing was carried out by glow discharge of CF$_{4}$ or $C_{2}$F$_{6}$ gas, being continuously fed by gas flow and continuously pumped out by a vacuum system. Electric power source for generate plasma state was sustained alternating current(60Hz) and voltage was sustained 600 volt. The duration of plasma treatment varied from 15 to 120 seconds except special case, the monomer gase pressure varied from 0.02 to 0.3 Torr and power range was 10 to 90 watts. The hydrophobic features of changed PET surface were evaluated by contact angle measurement and surface chemical characteristics were analyzed by ESCA. Results can be summerized as follows. 1. The most favorable setting position of substrate was the center area between the two electrodes. 2. $C_{2}$F$_{6}$ discharge current was lower than that of CF$_{4}$ when same voltage was sustained. Treated efficiency between CF$_{4}$ and $C_{2}$F$_{6}$ did not revealed significant differences under same electric power(wattage). 3. When monomer pressure is very low below 0.02 torr, as though substrate is exposed to CF$_{4}$ or $C_{2}$F$_{6}$ plasma, it tend to be hydrophilic through a little of fluorine bond and a great deal of oxidizing reaction. 4. There brought good hydrophobilization when monomer pressure was more 0.1 torr and duration of glow discharge treatment was over 45 seconds. When monomer pressure was too high, discharge current became low. Although prolong the duration, there was no more high hydrophobilization. 5. According to ESCA analysis, there were a little CF bond and a prevailing CF$_{2}$ bond in CF$_{4}$-treated substrate. There were CF$_{3}$, a little CF and a prevailing CF$_{2}$ bond in $C_{2}$F$_{6}$-treated substrate.d substrate.

The effect of reactive diluents on the ac electrical treeing in epoxy/nanosilicate systems was studied, in a needle-plate electrode geometry. Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) type epoxy was used as a base resin, and layered silicate was used as a nano-sized filler. Polyglycol (PG) or 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDGE) was introduced as a reactive diluent to the DGEBA/nanosilicate system, in order to decrease the viscosity of the nanocomposite system. PG acted as a flexibilizer, and BDGE acted as a chain extender, after the curing reaction. To measure the treeing propagation rate, a constant alternating current (ac) of 10 kV/4.2 mm (60 Hz) was applied to the specimen, in a needle-plate electrode arrangement, at $30^{\circ}C$ of insulating oil bath. When 10 kV/4.2 mm (60 Hz) was applied, the treeing propagate rate in the DGEBA system was $1.10{\times}10^{-3}$ mm/min, and that in the DGEBA/PG system was $1.05{\times}10^{-3}$ mm/min. As 1.5 wt% of nanosilicate was added to the DGEGA/PG system, the propagation rate was $0.33{\times}10^{-3}$ mm/min. This meant that the nano-sized layered silicates would act as good barriers to treeing propagation. The effect of chlorine content was also studied, and it was found that chlorine had a bad effect on the electrical insulation property of the epoxy system.
A new donor-accepter-donor-accepter-donor (D-A-D-A-D) type 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole-thiophene-based acceptor unit 2,5-di(4-(5-bromo-4-octylthiophen-2-yl)-2,1,3-benzothiadiazol-7-yl)thiophene ($DTBTTBr_2$) was synthesized. Copolymerized with fluorene and indeno[1,2-b]fluorene electron-rich moieties, two alternating narrow band gap (NBG) copolymers PF-DTBTT and PIF-DTBTT were prepared. And two copolymers exhibit broad and strong absorption in the range of 300-700 nm with optical band gap of about 1.75 eV. The highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy levels vary between -5.43 and -5.52 eV and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels range from -3.64 to -3.77 eV. Potential applications of the copolymers as electron donor material and $PC_{71}BM$ ([6,6]-phenyl-$C_{71}$ butyric acid methyl ester) as electron acceptors were investigated for photovoltaic solar cells (PSCs). Photovoltaic performances based on the blend of PF-DTBTT/$PC_{71}BM$ (w:w; 1:2) and PIF-DTBTT/$PC_{71}BM$ (w:w; 1:2) with devices configuration as ITO/PEDOT: PSS/blend/Ca/Al, show an incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency (IPCE) of 2.34% and 2.56% with the open circuit voltage ($V_{oc}$) of 0.87 V and 0.90 V, short circuit current density ($J_{sc}$) of $6.02mA/cm^2$ and $6.12mA/cm^2$ under an AM1.5 simulator ($100mA/cm^2$). The photocurrent responses exhibit the onset wavelength extending up to 720 nm. These results indicate that the resulted narrow band gap copolymers are viable electron donor materials for polymer solar cells.
