A Study on an Algorithm of Line Switching and Bus Separation for Alleviating Overloads by the Use of Line Power Tracing and Sensitivity (선로유효전력 Tracing과 민감도를 활용한 선로 과부하 해소 스위칭 및 모선분리 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a new algorithm for alleviating overloads in power networks by the use of line power tracing and sensitivity is proposed to perform line switching and bus separation effectively. Also, a new bus separation index based on line power tracing is presented to find the bus to be separated for relieving overloads effectively. By applying the sensitivity of the line flow with respect to the change of the line impedance, both switching-on and switching-off of the lines for alleviating overloads in power networks are performed systematically at once. The number of the considered cases for line switching and bus separation can be greatly reduced and the best combination of line switching and bus separation can be acquired efficiently by the use of the sensitivity and the bus separation index. In order to show the effects of this algorithm, it is applied to a small scale power system of IEEE 39-bus system and practical power systems of KEPCO.

  • In this paper, a new algorithm based on sensitivity method for alleviating overloads in power networks is presented to find the switching branches effectively. By applying the new sensitivity of the line flow with respect to the change of the branch impedance, both on and off switchings for alleviating overloads in power networks are performed systematically at once and an effective scheme for drawing up a plan to alleviate overloads of the lines is presented through screening a large number of line switching cases easily. The ranking of switching branches is calculated according to the new switching algorithm based on sensitivity method and the switching of the ranked branches is performed in the order of ranking until overloads are eliminated. In order to show the effects of this algorithm, it is applied to a small scale power system of IEEE 39-bus test system.

Preferentially the switching of shunt reactive devices such as shunt reactor and shunt capacitors is performed. If overloads are not eliminated, the ranking of switching branches is calculated according to the algorithm based on sensitivity method and the switching of the ranked branches is performed in the order of ranking until overloads are eliminated. In order to show the effects of this algorithm, it is applied to a small scale power system of IEEE 39-bus test system.

A Study on the Transmission Overload Relief by Fast Switching (고속 스위칭에 의한 송전선로 과부하 해소 연구)

  • Because of computational burden and complex topology of substation, a transmission overload relief using circuit-breaker switching was very complex and difficult. However, a on-line algorithm for reducing the overloads in transmission lines has made progress due to the advance of IT technology. This paper describes the methodology for alleviating the overloads in transmission lines by circuit-breaker switching. First, the severe contingency lists and substations were selected from the results of contingency analysis. Then the switch combinations are determined using circuit-breakers of the selected substation. The topology changes are limited to equipment outage, bus split, island split, bus merge and island merge. Finally, the fast screening and full analysis methods are used to analyze the overload in transmission lines. To verify the performance of the proposed methodology, we performed a comprehensive test for both test system and large-scale power systems. The results of these tests showed that the proposed methodology can accurately alleviate the overloads in transmission lines from online data and can be applied to on-line applications.

  • 각 송전선로의 임피던스 변화에 대한 과부하 선로 조류의 민감도를 통하여 과부하 선로를 해소하기 위한 여유 송전선로의 투입과 운전 중인 선로의 차단을 한꺼번에 체계적으로 수행하는 민감도와 스위치 상태변경을 최소화하는 스위칭의 알고리즘이 제시된다. 이를 통해 수많은 케이스의 스위칭 경우의 수를 대폭적으로 줄임으로써 효율적으로 선로 스위칭을 수행하여 효과적인 과부하 해소 대책을 세우는 기법을 제시한다. 이 기법을 IEEE 39 모선 시스템에 적용하여 제시된 알고리즘의 효과를 보여준다.

  • 가상화 환경은 한 대의 서버에 여러 개의 가상 머신을 생성하여 독립적인 운영체제를 실행시킨다. 이러한 서버는 가상 머신에 서버의 자원을 할당하여 작업을 처리하고, 작업의 증가로 인해 가상 머신의 자원이 부족하게 되면 서버의 자원을 재할당 한다. 그러나 서버 자원의 확장이 어려운 경우 과부하 상태가 되어 가상 머신의 자원 부족을 해결할 수 없다. 또한 가상 머신을 다른 서버에 재배치 시킴으로써 서버의 과부하 문제를 해결하고자 하였으나, 서버 선정 과정이 단순하여 유휴자원을 확보하기가 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 가상 머신을 재배치시키는 기법을 제안한다. 또한 기존 재배치 알고리즘과 제안한 알고리즘에 대한 성능평가를 한다.
