Background: The aim of this study was to assess the response rates (clinical and pathological ) with docetaxel and epirubicin combination chemotherapy and its effect on outcome. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively analysed locally advanced breast cancer (LABC) patients who received NACT from January 2008 to December 2012 in our tertiary care centre. LABC constituted 37% of all breast cancer cases and 120 patients fulfilled the eligibility criteria. The regimens used for NACT were, six cycles of DEC (docetaxel $75mg/m^2$, epirubicin $75mg/m^2$, cyclophosphamide $50mg/m^2$ on Day 1, 3 weekly) and a sequential regimen (4 cycles of FEC, 5-flurouracil $600mg/m^2$, epirubicin $75mg/m^2$, cyclophosphamide $600mg/m^2$ followed by 4 cycles of docetaxel $85mg/m^2$). Results: The median age was 47 years (range 23-72). Ninety six ( 80 %) had T4 disease and 90% had clinically palpable lymph nodes at diagnosis. The median size of primary tumor at presentation was 5.9 cm. Hormone receptor positivity was seen in 55% and HER2/neu positivity, in 25%. Triple negative breast cancers constituted 25 % of the cases. The overall clinical response rate (complete or partial ) was 85% and pathological complete responses were obtained in 15%. Four cases defaulted, 5 patients died of treatment related toxicity and 15% developed febrile neutropenia on DEC. The median duration of follow up was 22 months. The median time to relapse was 20 months and the 3 year relapse free and overall survival rates were 50% and 70% respectively. Conclusions: LABC constituted 37% of all breast cancer cases at our institute. With NACT, pCR was seen in 15% of the cases. Sequential chemotherapy was better tolerated than concurrent anthracyline and taxane chemotherapy with a similar pCR.
Variability in growth and sporulation of five isolates of Arthrobotrys dactyloides was studied on five agar, 6 bran and 5 grain media. Potato dextrose agar (PDA) supported maximum growth of isolate A, C and E, while growth of isolate Band D was significantly lower on this medium. On Czapek's agar and yeast glucose agar media the differentiation in the isolates in relation to growth was poor than PDA. The other two media showed much poorer differentiation. On Czapek's agar medium, sporulation was recorded in isolate B only, whereas other isolates showed rare sporulation. Among the bran media, pea bran agar medium supported maximum growth of all the isolates except isolate B. Gram and rice bran agar media were next best. However, the growth of isolate B on the gram bran agar medium was more or less equal as other isolates. On pigeon pea bran agar medium, isolate E failed to grow while other isolates recorded poor growth. On lentil bran agar medium, only isolate Band D recorded little growth, whereas other isolates failed to grow. All the isolates recorded good sporulation on bran agar media except pigeon pea and lentil bran agar media. The grain agar media supported moderate to very good growth of all the isolates. In general isolate B remained slow growing on these media except gram grain and sorghum grain agar media on which growth of this isolate was comparable to other isolates. Sporulation in general, was good on all the grain agar media. Among different substrates screened, barley grain and pea bran were found superior to others for mass culture of isolate A of A. dactyloides.

PURPOSE: This study was investigated to find the validity of active movement control test for low back pain patients with or without hamstring shortening. METHODS: The subjects of this study were 28 subjects and all of them agreed to participate in the study. All subjects were classified according to 4groups. Group1 was no LBP, no hamstring shortening. Group2 was no LBP, hamstring shortening. Group3 was LBP, no hamstring shortening. Group4 was LBP, hamstring shortening. We measured to see their low back pain and hamstring shortening with VAS, Goniometer for active movement control test. We analyzed the data using Cochran Q test and crosstabulation for agreement index. RESULTS: The results of this study were as follows : 1) Low back pain had effect on active movement control by Group1 and Group2. 2) Hamstring had effect on active movement control by Group1 and Group2 3)Low back pain with or without hamstring shortening had effect on active movement control by Group4 CONCLUSION: According the results of this study, active movement control test were significantly influenced on low back pain and hamstring interaction.
This research reports the prosodic characteristics (including articulation speech rate, pause characteristics, duration) of children with cochlear implants with reference to those of children with normal hearing. Subjects are 8-to 10-year-old children, balancing each number of gender as 24. Dialogue speech data are comprised of four types of sentence patterns. Results show that 1) there's a statistically meaningful difference on articulation speech rate between the two groups. 2) On pauses, they are not observed in exclamatory and declarative sentences in normal children. While imperative sentences show no statistical difference on the number of pauses between the two groups, interrogative sentences do. 3) Declarative, exclamatory, and interrogative sentences reveal statistical difference between the two groups in terms of the sentence's final two-syllable word duration, showing no difference on imperative sentences. 4) When it comes to the RFP (duration ratio of sentence final syllable to penultimate syllable), we no statistically meaningful difference between the two groups in all types of sentences exists. 5) Lastly, RWS (the ratio of sentence final two syllable word duration to that of whole sentence duration) shows statistical difference between two groups in imperative sentences, but not in all the rest types.
297 cases of military personnel and 7 cases of civilian were operated in K.A.F.C.H. from January 1982 to October 1988 due to cardiovascular disease, which consist of 202 cases [66.4%] of vascular disease, 91 cases [29.9%] of cardiac disease, and 11 cases [3.6%] of pericardial disease. Mean age was 25.8*7.2[2S.D.] year of age and nearly all patients were male except 4 cases of female patient in civilian. Of the 253 cases [83.2%] of acquired disease, vascular diseases were 149 cases [583%], traumatic cardiovascular 54 [21.3%], cardiac 40 [15.8%], and pericardial 10 [4.0%]. Of the 51 cases [16.8%] of congenital diseases, cardiac anomalies were 48 cases [94.1%], vascular 2 [3.9%] and pericardial 1 [2.0%]. Open heart surgery was done in 83 cases of cardiac disease, which consists of 39 cases [46.9%] of valvular heart disease, 22 cases [26.59o] of ASD, 14 cases [16.9%] of VSD, 2 cases [2.4%] of partial ECD, and so on. Of the 6 cases [2.0%] of over-all mortality, operative death in open heart surgery was 4 cases[4.8%].
A convenient synthesis of bifunctional sulfonamide-amide derivatives was reported. Amide coupling of 4-methyl benzoic acid 1 followed by reaction with chlorosulfonic acid produce ethyl-4-(3-(chlorosulfonyl)-4-methylbenzoyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate 4. The resulted compound on further treatment with various anilines produces the title sulfonamide-amide derivatives 5a-n. The configurations of these compounds were established by elemental analysis, IR, $^1H$ NMR, mass spectra, and by their preparation from the corresponding 4-methyl benzoic acid 1 and chlorosulfonic acid. All these new compounds demonstrate significant in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities against all bacterial and fungal strains.
Studies on anthelmintic efficacy in sheep were carried out on a large breeding farm and on 7 smallholder farms in the North-Sumatra province, Indonesia. The efficacy in reducing strongyle infections in sheep, of albendazole on all farms and of febantel, levamisole and ivermectin on the breeding farm, was estimated by means of faecal egg count reduction tests. High efficacy (> 95%) was found with all the anthelmintics tested and on all farms. The results are discussed in relation to the current parasite control programme.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the degree of marginal leakage that is made by wet bonding to dentin and dissolution of dentinal collagen layer in vivo and in vitro. Class V cavities were prepared to 32 cat's canine teeth and they were randomly assigned into the following 4 groups : Group 1 (not acid conditioned) ; Group 2 (acid-conditioned and blot-dried) ; Group 3 (acid-conditioned and air-dried for 30 seconds) ; Group 4 (acid-conditioned and retreated with 10% NaOCl solution). The acetone-based primer and bonding agent of All Bond 2(Bisco Inc., U.S.A.) and composite resin(Z-100, 3M. Dent. Prod., U.S.A.) were then applied. The resin collar and cap attached to each specimen and 50% silver nitrate solution was placed inside the resin cap for 3 hours. After the canine tooth was resected in level of cervical third, specimens were highly polished and observed the degree of the dye penetration on incisal and gingival margins. The results were as follows ; 1. There was no significant difference of marginal leakage in all the groups between in vivo and in vitro. 2. In vivo, the degree of leakage on the gingival margin showed the lowerest in group 4 and followed by group 2, 3 and group 1 with ascending order. However, there was no statistical difference among all the groups(p>0.05). 3. In vitro, the degree of leakage on the gingival margin showed the lowerest in group 2 and followed by group 4, 3 and group 1 with ascending order. However, there was no significant difference among the experimental groups(p>0.05). 4. The marginal leakage of the incisal margin in vitro was significantly higher in group 1 than the remaining groups(p<0.05).

Methods : We analysed statistic study in 106 patients, who had admitted to the Dept. of Dermatology, Ophthalmology & Otorhinolaryngology Hospital of Oriental Medicine, Dongguk University from July, 2005 to January, 2008. Results : The results were as follows; 1. Males were 50.94% and females were 49.06%. 2. Distribution of aging was 18.87% in twenties and 17.92% in fifties. 3. Common disease group were Facial palsy(33.96%); Atopic dermatitis(21.7%); Tinnitus(7.55%); Sudden Sensorineural Hearing loss(4.72%); Sore throat(5.66%). 4. Average age of Facial palsy patients was 50.9 years old, average hospitalized period were 10.47days and subjective satisfaction rate was 2.56 points on the basis of 4 points. 5. Average age of Atopic dermatitis patient's average age was 22.22 years old, average hospitalized period were 8.35days and subjective satisfaction rate was 3.44 points on the basis of 4 points. 6. 47.2% of all patient were admitted into the hospital on 1st or 2nd outpatient service and 44% of Facial palsy patient were admitted into the hospital via emergency room. 7. All patient's average hospitalized period were 7.5 days. 8. All patient's subjective satisfaction rate were 2.97 points on the basis of 4 points. Conclusion : This study suggests that oriental medical treatments is especially popular in facial palsy and atopic dermatitis. We have to take steps for effective management and treatment for special diseases and ages.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of balance training on gait stability. The study population included 17 male high school students who were divided into 3 groups, each of which underwent one of the following types of balance-training programs for 8 weeks: 1 foot standing on cushion foam, trunk muscle training, and inverted body position training. 0, 4, and 8 weeks, the following experiment was performed: The participants were asked to close their eyes and take 17 steps; the stability of forward and sideward movement was determined, and the direction linearity was measured. The results revealed that all the training programs caused a decrease in stride deviation and an increase in the and the stride length, thereby improving the stability of forward movement. All the programs decreased the variation in step width and were thus also effective in improving the stability of sideward movement. The inverted body position training program was considered very effective because the cross point appeared on post hoc graphic analysis after 4 weeks, and the deviation length for 10 m was low, i.e., below 4 cm. All the programs were effective with respect to direction linearity because they decreased the deviation in direction widths. The results indicate that whole-body neurocontrol training is more effective than simple muscle training and local focused balance training, although this neurocontrol training-in the form of inverted body position training-required a longer training period than did the other programs.
