Al1050 합금의 플라즈마 전해산화 피막 형성 거동에 미치는 전해질 조성의 영향 (Effect of Electrolyte Composition on The Formation Behavior of Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation Films on Al1050 Alloy)

  • 본 연구에서는 정전류 조건에서 알루미늄 합금의 PEO(Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation) 피막 형성 거동에 대한 전해질 조성의 영향을 아크 발생 양상, 전압-시간 곡선 및 형성된 표면피막의 구조를 관찰하여 연구하였다. 실험에 사용된 전해질은 NaOH 수용액에 $Na_2SiO_3$을 혼합하여 구성되었으며, NaOH와 $Na_2SiO_3$의 농도는 각각 0.01 ~ 1.0 M 와 0 ~ 2.0 M 사이로 조절되었다. 0.01 M NaOH 이하의 용액에서는 양극전압이 500 V 이상으로 상승되고 미세한 아크가 시편 표면 전체에 발생했으나, 0.02 M NaOH 이상의 농도에서는 양극전압이 300 V 이하로 감소되었고 아크발생이 관찰되지 않았다. 아크발생이 일어나지 않는 고농도의 0.5 M NaOH 용액의 경우 0.1 M 이상의 $Na_2SiO_3$를 첨가하였을 때 작은 아크의 무리가 발생되었다. 0.5 M NaOH 수용액에 0.1 M ~ 0.2 M $Na_2SiO_3$가 첨가되었을 땐 아크 무리가 발생하나 이내 일부 영역에서만 반복적으로 아크가 발생하는 로컬 버닝 현상이 일어났다. 한편 0.5 M NaOH 수용액에 0.5 M 이상의 $Na_2SiO_3$가 첨가되었을 때는 로컬 버닝이 일어나지 않고 전 표면에 걸쳐서 아크 무리가 이동하며 PEO 피막이 형성되었다. 0.01 M NaOH 수용액에서 형성된 PEO 피막의 두께는 처리 시간에 따라 증가하지 않고 $10{\mu}m$ 이하의 낮은 값을 보였다. 반면에 NaOH와 $Na_2SiO_3$ 혼합수용액에서 형성된 피막의 두께는 약 $30{\mu}m$ 이상의 높은 값을 보였다.

ECAP 한 후 열처리한 알루미늄 AA 1050 합금 판재의 집합조직과 소성변형비 변화 (Plastic Strain Ratio and Texture of the ECAPed and Heat-treated Aluminum AA 1050 Sheet)

  • A study on the microstructure, the texture and the formability of the samples after ECAPed and subsequent heat-treated AA 1050 aluminum alloy sheet have been carried out. The specimens after the ECAP showed a very fine grain size, a decrease of <100> // ND. The <110>// ND textures appears in the specimens after the ECAP and subsequent heat-treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. One of the most important properties in sheet metals is formability. The r-value or plastic strain ratio has was as a parameter that expressed the formability of sheet metals. The change of the plastic Strain ratios after the ECAP and subsequent heat-treatment conditions were investigated and it was found that they were two times higher than those of the initial Al sheets. This could be attributed to the formation above texture components through the ECAP and subsequent heat-treatment of AA 1050 Aluminum alloy sheet.

The $\{111\}<112>,\;\{123\}<634>,\;\{110\}<001>,\;\{112\}<111>,\;\{110\}<111>,\;and\;\{013\}<231>$ texture components were increased in the specimens after the ECAP and subsequent heat-treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour.   • The anodic oxidation behavior of Si-containing aluminum alloy for diecasting was investigated. Especially, the property changes during anodization both on aluminum 1050 and 9 weight percentage silicon containing aluminum (Al-9Si) alloys were analyzed by the static current test. In order to fabricate a uniform anodic oxidation film by effect of Al-Si compound, nitric acid containing hydrofluoric acid had been used as a desmutter for aluminum alloy after alkaline etching. It was found that the level of voltage of Al-9Si alloy during the static current test was almost as double as higher than aluminum 1050 through anodization. By adding hydrofluoric acid in the nitric acid electrolyte, the silicon compound on the surface was removed, and the optimum amount of added hydrofluoric acid could be derived. It was also observed that the size of silicon compound formed on the surface could be refined by heat treatment at $500^{\circ}C$ and followed water quenching.

  • Alumina precursor sol was obtained by the reaction of Al(OC4H9)3 and acetylacetone in the solvent followed by the partial hydrolysis. This sol was measured by viscosity and the effect of pH. The powders obtained from this sol were calcined at the various temperatures. The transition of crystals and crystal state were investigated at the various temperatures. The powders dried at 90$^{\circ}C$ showed amorphous and ${\gamma}$-Al2O3 at 900$^{\circ}C$, ${\alpha}$-Al2O3 mono-phase at 1050$^{\circ}C$ respectively. As a result of Al27-MASNMR analysis, amorphous and ${\alpha}$-Al2O3 powders showed 6-coordinated Al, ${\gamma}$-Al2O3 4-coordinated Al respectively.

  • (0001),(1012) 및 (1120)면 sapphire 기판위에 성장되는 (0001), (1120) 및 (1011)면 GaN epitaxy 박막을 Ga/HCI/NH3/He 계를 사용한 HVPE(halide vapor phase epitaxy)방법에 의하여 성장시키는 연구를 수행하였다. 박막의 표면조직과 결정구조는 XRD, RHEED와 SEM으로 분석하였으며, 성장된 막의 화학적 조성은 XPS로 관찰되었다. (1120) sapphire위에는 각각 (0001)과 (1120) GaN epitaxy 박막의 두가지 배향관계가 관찰되었다. (0001)면 GaN epitaxy 박막은 (0001)과 (1120)면 sapphire 기판위에서 1050℃ 의 고온으로 성장시킬 때 이차원적인 성장구조를 보여주였으며, (1120) sapphire 기판위에 성장된 (1011) GaN 박막이 주사전자현미경과 RHEED 분석결과 가장 좋은 표면조직과 결정구조를 보여주었다.

Al-Si 합금 증착 전기강판의 열확산 거동 (Thermal Diffusion behavior of Al-Si Deposited Electrical Steels)

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the diffusion behavior of Al and Si from a coatings in the microstucture of Fe-Si steel. Steel samples deposited with Al-Si alloy are prepared by ion plating process, followed by annealing treatments for diffusion at $1050^{\circ}C$. Several intermetallic phases are found in the coatings and they are identified as Fe-Al and an orderd Fe-Si compounds. Series of different concentration profiles through the sample have been obtained and Si content reaches about 5 wt% in case of 90 minutes of diffusion time.

Deep Drawing With Internal Air-Pressing to Increase The Limit Drawing Ratio of Aluminum Sheet

  • The effects of internal air-pressing on deep drawability are investigated in this study to increase the deep drawability of aluminum sheet. The conventional deep drawing process is limited to a certain limit drawing ratio(LDR) beyond which failure will occur. The intention of this work is to examine the possibilities of relaxing the above limitation through the deep drawing with internal air-pressing, aiming towards a process with an increased drawing ratio. The idea which may lead to this goal is the use of special punch that can exert high pressure on the internal surface of deforming sheet during the deep drawing process. Over the ranges of conditions investigated for Al-1050, the local strain concentration at punch nose radius area was decreased by internal air-pressing of punch, and the deep drawing with internal air-pressing was proved to be very effective process for obtaining higher LDR.

Effect of rubber forming process parameters on channel depth of metallic bipolar plates

  • In this study, bipolar plates in fuel cells are formed using rubber forming process. The effects of important parameters in rubber forming such as hardness and thickness of rubber pad, speed and pressure of punch that compress blank, and physical property of materials on the channel depth were analyzed. In the soft material sheet Al1050, deeper channels are formed than in materials STS304 and Ti-G5. Formed channel depth was increased when hardness of rubber pad was lower, thickness of rubber pad was high, and speed and pressure of punch were high. It was found the deepest channel was achieved when forming process condition was set with punch speed and pressure at 30 mm/s and 55 MPa, respectively using rubber pad having hardness Shore A 20 and thickness 60 mm. The channel depths of bipolar plates formed with Al1050, STS304 and Ti-G5 under the above process condition were 0.453, 0.307, and 0.270 mm, respectively. There were no defects such as wrinkle, distortion, and crack found from formed bipolar plates.
