Low-temperature Hydrothermal Synthesis of Organic Smectite from Siliceous Mudstone (규질 이암으로부터 유기 스멕타이트의 저온 수열합성)

  • Organic smectite was hydrothermally synthesized by treating the opal-rich siliceous mudstone from the Pohang area with TMAOH solutions and 1:1 solutions of TMAOH+NaOH at $80^{\circ}C$ and concentrations ranging 10∼15%. Smectite was solely formed without accompanying any mineral products in case of TMAOH, whereas NaP and hydroxysodalite was synthesized together with smectite under the blending solution of TMAOH+NaOH. The synthesized smectite is identified as an organic smectite intercalating $TMA^{+}$ within its interlayer site, specifically corresponding to monmorillonite species, through mineralogical characterization by XRD, DTA, and IR analyses. The experimental results indicate that main precursor of the synthesized smectite is undoubtedly opal-CT, and the original sedimentary smectite included as considerable amounts in the mudstone seems to play a major role as Al-sources necessary far the smectite formation. Original inert components such as quartz and mica do not affect mostly to the synthesis reaction, and thus, are resultantly found as impurities in the synthetic products. These experimental results may imply that a new effective method for the low-temperature (less than $100^{\circ}C$) hydrothermal synthesis of organic smectite will be established if some Al-sources adequate for this synthetic system are available.

Growth of AlN Thin Film on Sapphire Substrates and ZnO Templates by RF-magnetron Sputtering (RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링법을 이용하여 사파이어 기판과 ZnO 박막 위에 증착한 AlN 박막의 특성분석)

  • AlN thin films were deposited on sapphire substrates and ZnO templates by rf-magnetron sputtering. Powder-sintered AlN target was adopted for source material. Thickness of AlN layer was linearly dependent on plasma power from 50 to 110 W, and it decreased slightly when working pressure increased from 3 to 10 mTorr due to short mean free path of source material sputtered from AlN target by Ar working gas. When $N_2$ gas was mixed with Ar, the thickness of AlN layer decreased significantly because of low sputter yield of nitrogen. AlN layer was also deposited on ZnO template. However, it showed weak thermal stability that the interface between AlN and ZnO was deteriorated by rapid thermal annealing treatment above $700^{\circ}C$. In addition, ZnO layer was largely attacked by MOCVD ambient gas of hydrogen and ammonia around $700^{\circ}C$ through inferior AlN layer deposited by sputtering. And AlN layers were fully peeled off above $900^{\circ}C$.

Source Evaluation of Rhyolitic Dike Swarm from Compositional Correlations of Igneous Intrusions in the Northern Cheongsong, Korea (청송 북부 화성관입체들의 조성대비에 의한 청송 암맥군의 공급원 고찰)

  • In the northern Cheongsong, there are occurred igneous intrusions: Cheongsong dike swarm, Jungtaesan laccolith, Galpyeongji stock. The swarm is composed of rhyolitic dikes that have developed many various spherulites. The dikes represent an geometrically radical pattern centering the Galpyeongji stock, but also geochemistry of the intrusions indicate the swarm source. Here we report the compositional data for 28 samples from the three intrusions. All of the intrusions belong to rhyolitic composition, but according to compositional correlation, there are considerable overlaps between intrusion compositions. In particular, the Cheongsong dike swarm is divided into several dike groups by rock color and shows compositional diversity, but the composition of the dikes generally overlap with compositions of other intrusions. The Jungtaesan laccolith is enriched in alkali, $K_2O$ and $Al_2O_3$ and depleted in $Fe_2O_3{^t}$, $TiO_2$ and REE compared to the Cheongsong dike swarm. In contrast, the Galpyeongji stock is narrow in composition range, and commonly has sharp compositional overlaps with the Cheongsong dike swarm. According to the compositional correlations, the stock is considered to be a source of the swarm and it is connected to an episode of volcanism.

Synthesis of P-type Zeolite Using Melting Slag from Municipal Incineration Ash (도시 소각재 용융슬래그로부터 P형 제올라이트 합성)

  • Melting slag generated from the lots of municipal incineration ash, which causes the one of big urban problems in modern industrial society, was used as starting material for the hydrothermal synthesis of zeolite. P-type zeolite has been successfully synthesized by the combined process of both 'hydrogelation' and 'clay conversion' method. Commercial sodium silicate was used as Si source, and $NaAlO_2$ was prepared by the reaction in a $Na_{2}O/Al_{2}O_{3}$ molar ratio of 1.2. The optimum conditions for zeolite synthesis was found to be the $SiO_{2}/Al_{2}O_{3}$ ratio in the 3.2 and 4.2 range, the $H_{2}O/Na_{2}O$ ratio in the 70.7 and 80.0 range, and more than 15-hour reaction time at $80^{\circ}C$, In the synthesized zeolite, inhomogeneous melting slag particles were disappeared and homogeneous P-type zeolite crystal was grown. The cation exchange capacity of the synthesized zeolite was determined to be approx. 240 cmol/kg.

  • Recently, Jaiswal et al. proposed a protocol to improve the multi-agent negotiation test-bed which was proposed by Collins et al. Using publish/subscribe system, time-release cryptography and anonymous communication, their protocol gives an improvement on the old one. However, it is shown that the protocol also has some security weaknesses: such as replay data attack and DOS (denial-of-service) attack, anonymity disclosure, collusion between customers and a certain supplier. So proposed protocol reduces DOS attack and avoids replay data attack by providing ticket token and deal sequence number to the supplier. And it is proved that the way that market generates random number to the supplier is better than the supplier do by himself in guaranteeing anonymity.   • The concentrations and wet deposition flux into the sea of heavy metals of precipitation in Pusan area were measured and estimated. The samples were collected by polyethylene bottle(30ι) from January to November in 1996, and heavy metals were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrometer. The concentration order of heavy metals was Al >Fe >Zn >Pb >Mn >Cu >Ni >Cd >Co, and they were high at inland sites and low at coastal sites. The enrichment factors for some metals(Zn, Cu, Pb, Cd), based on crustal Al, were significantly greater than unity, and the order was Cd > Pb > Zn > Cu. This evidence suggests Cd and Pb are derived predominantly from non-crustal sources. Al, Fe and Mn contents showed good correlation with each other. Therefore this enrichment factor indicates similar geochemical behavior of these elements. The annual wet depositional flux(mg/ $m^2$ /yr) from Pl site was as follows: Al(121.1). Fe,(177.2), Zn(12.9), Mn(6.19), Pb(14.4), Cu(0.64), Ni(1.03), Cd(1.02) and Co(1.01).

DC 반응성 스퍼터링법으로 증착한 TiN/Al, TiCN/Al 박막의 전기적.기계적 특성 및 내부식성 평가

  • 최근 화석연료 대체 에너지원으로서 자동차용으로 연구 개발 및 응용되고 있는 고분자 전해질 연료전지(PEMFC: Proton exchange membrane fuel cells)에서 분리판(Bipolar Plate)은 스택 전체 무게의 80%, 스택 가격의 60% 정도로 가장 높은 비중을 차지한다. 분리판은 연료와 산화제를 공급해주는 통로 및 전지 운전 중에 생성된 물을 제거하는 통로 역할과 anode, cathode로서 전극 역할을 통해 스택 전력을 형성하는 핵심 기능과 전지와 전지 사이의 지지대 역할을 한다. 따라서 분리판은 전기전도성, 내부식성 및 기계적 특성이 우수해야함은 물론이고, 얇고 가벼우며 가공성이 뛰어나야 한다. 현재 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 금속 분리판 소재 중 스테인리스 스틸은 전기적, 기계적 특성 및 내부식성이 우수한 반면, 가격이 비싸고, 중량이 무거운 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 DC 반응성 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 전기적, 기계적 특성 및 내부 식성이 우수한 TiN, TiCN 박막을 스테인리스에 비해 중량이 1/3, 소재 단가가 1/4인 알루미늄 기판 위에 증착하여 박막 물성을 평가하였다. DC Power는 400 W, 기판과 타겟 사이의 거리는100 mm, 공정 압력은 0.5 Pa로 고정하였고, 3 inch의 지름과 순도 99.95%를 갖는 티타늄 타겟을 사용하였다. 공정 가스는 Ar을 주입하였으며, 질소와 탄소의 공급원으로는 질소($N_2$)와 메탄($CH_4$) 가스를 사용하여 챔버 내 주입혼합가스의 전체 유량을 50 sccm으로 고정시켰다. 증착된 박막의 전기적, 기계적 특성을 측정하였고, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM)을 이용하여 박막의 미세구조 및 표면 상태를 확인하였다. 또한, 내부식 특성을 평가하기 위해 potentiostatic, potentiodynamic 법을 이용하여 박막의 부식저항을 측정하였다. 증착된 TiN 박막의 경우 질소 함량의 증가에 따라 박막 증착속도는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 이는 타겟 부근의 질소 라디칼 비율이 증가함에 따라 질화반응이 촉진된 것으로 생각된다. 또한, 증착된 TiN과 TiCN 박막은 반응성 질소 유량과 탄소 유량에 따라 각각 다른 미세구조를 가지는 것을 확인하였다. TiN과 TiCN은 NaCl형의 면심입방격자(FCC)로 같은 구조이며, 격자상수가 비슷하여 전율고용되어 TiCN을 형성하고, 탄소와 질소의 비에 따라 전기적 기계적 특성이 달라짐을 확인하였다.

Dechlorination of HCFC-142b over Supported Pd Catalysts and Solid Acid Catalysts (Pd담지촉매와 고체산촉매를 이용한 HCFC-142b의 탈염소반응)

  • Supported Pd($Pd/AlF_3$, $Pd/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$) catalysts and solid-acid catalysts(${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$, ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$, $AlF_3$) were used to perform dechlorination of HCFC-142b(1-chloro-1,1-difluoroethane) in the presence of excess hydrogen. In the reactions the effects of reaction temperature, the mole ratio(r) of $H_2$ to HCFC-142b and the amount of supported Pd on dechlorination of HCFC-142b into HFC-143a(1,1,1-trifluoroethane) or HFC-152a(1,1-difluoroethane) were investigated. The experimental results showed that the conversion of HCFC-142b to product gases were 60% and 92%, respectively, and the selectivity to HFC-143a in the product gases were 58% and 64% for $Pd/AlF_3$ and $Pd/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ catalysts, respectively. On these catalysts an optimum reaction condition was found at $200^{\circ}C$ with the space time of reactant gases as 1.05 second and the mole ratio of $H_2$ to HCFC-142b as 3. Solid-acid catalysts were also tested at the same reaction condition. The results showed that the conversions of HCFC-142b to product gases were 12%, 8% and 7%, and the selectivities to HFC-152a were 94%, 92% and 90% for ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$, ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ and $AlF_3$ catalysts, respectively.

  • Lipase(E.C. 3.1.1.3)는 triglyceride의 ester 결합을 가수분해하여 glycerol과 지방산을 생성하거나 기질에 특이적으로 계합성하는 효소로, lipase의 생산 및 용도의 개발에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되어져 왔다(Macrae et al., 1985). 미생물 유래의 lipase는 기존의 화학적인 처리에 의한 생산물을 얻을 때 생기는 여러 부산물에 대한 문제를 해결할 수 있고, 일단 순수한 형태로 분리된 균주는 배양조건이 수립되면 원하는 시간에 필요한 양의 균체를 유용물질의 원료로 공급하여 생산 작업의 규모도 필요에 의해 증대할 수 있다.
