승용차의 제상 및 성에 제거 성능 평가를 위한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Study on the Performance Assessment for Defrost and De-Icing Modes)

  • HVAC(Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning) 시스템은 승객실 내부의 열환경을 제어하여 쾌적성을 향상시키거나 전면 유리창에 생성된 성에를 제거하여 운전자의 가시영역을 확보하는 등 차량의 성능과 관련된 매우 중요한 기능을 담당한다. 본 연구에서는 CFX 를 사용하여 HVAC 시스템의 기능 중 제상 덕트의 성능과 관련된 수치해석적 연구를 수행하였다. 제상덕트의 해석결과, 출구에서의 유량배분특성 및 유동구조는 일반적인 설계주안점에 부합된 양호한 결과를 얻었다. 외부온도 $-18^{\circ}C$ 하에서 물의 잠열인 $3.37{\times}10^5$[J/kg]을 고려한 상변화 과정을 수치적으로 모사하기 위하여 열용량법을 사용하였고, 시간에 따른 제상패턴 해석을 위해 얼음과 유리의 고체도메인에 대한 추가적인 격자 생성 작업이 필요하였다. 유동해석 결과, 전면유리 근처의 유동구조, 유적선, 온도장 해석결과는 본 연구에서 수행한 제상덕트 모델이 우수한 성능으로 제상기능을 수행할 수 있음을 보였으며, 수치해석적 결과는 실험적 결과와 비교하여 제상패턴이 잘 일치함을 확인하였다. 또한 전면유리 상의 4 개의 지점에서 얻어진 온도, 물분율, 엔탈피의 시간에 따른 변화를 통해 상변화 과정을 정량적으로 파악하였다.

이젝터를 적용한 냉동사이클의 냉매종류별 성능특성 (Performance Characteristics of Refrigeration Cycles with Ejector using Refrigerants)

  • Studies in liquid-vapor ejector, which performs a great efficiency in refrigeration cycle is highly concerned. This paper is based on basic refrigeration cycle and three ejector refrigeration cycles and the comparison and contrasts about when 6 different refrigerants are applied to such refrigeration cycles. All cycles had a percentage increase of COP from 4 to 74% when ejector was applied, and the source of increasement was the decrease of total work done due to ejector's pressure recovery function. When R-245fa is applied to cycle (d), results showed that COP was the most superior in such cycle, R-245fa showed high volume entrainment ratio in all cycles. Future studies in refrigeration cycles will require more knowledge and experiments on ejector's appliance to refrigeration cycles and the actuation of such functions.

A Decision Tree Approach for Identifying Defective Products in the Manufacturing Process

  • Recently, due to the significance of Industry 4.0, the manufacturing industry is developing globally. Conventionally, the manufacturing industry generates a large volume of data that is often related to process, line and products. In this paper, we analyzed causes of defective products in the manufacturing process using the decision tree technique, that is a well-known technique used in data mining. We used data collected from the domestic manufacturing industry that includes Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Point of Production (POP), equipment data accumulated directly in equipment, in-process/external air-conditioning sensors and static electricity. We propose to implement a model using C4.5 decision tree algorithm. Specifically, the proposed decision tree model is modeled based on components of a specific part. We propose to identify the state of products, where the defect occurred and compare it with the generated decision tree model to determine the cause of the defect.

  • Numerical simulation is conducted to clarify the heat transfer and fluid flow characteristics of HVAC(Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning) for Mugunghwa passenger car. The HVAC system is installed under the floor of carbody. This new HVAC system has a lot of merits in respect of the center of gravity of carbody, flow induced noise and reduction of condensation water etc. The standard k-epsilon turbulent model and SIMPLEC algorithm based on finite volume method are used to solve the physical HVAC model. To assure convergence, QUICK scheme for momentum equation and the first order upwind scheme for turbulent equations are used. From the results of simulation, the temperature and velocity magnitude are also distributed uniformly in the interior of car.

해수냉각시스템 성능에 미치는 냉매배관길이의 영향 (Effect of Refrigerant Pipe Length on Sea Water Cooling System Performance)

  • The purpose of this study is analyzing the performance of sea water cooling system under various refrigerant pipe length. In sea water cooling system, the increase of refrigerant pipe length cause increases of pressure drops. These pressure drops cause fresh gas in liquid pipe and increase specific volume in gas pipe outlet, so sea water cooling system capacity is decreased by decrease of refrigerant mass flow rate. Sea water cooling system capacity in refrigerant pipe length 70m is decreased more than 30% when compared with pipe length 10m and the decrease of the coefficient of performance is nearly 20%.

  • Nonlinear and forced oscillations of supported viscous droplet were focused in the present study. The droplet has a free contact line with solid plate and inviscid fluid. Natural frequencies of a pendant droplet have been investigated experimentally by imposing the acoustic wave while the frequency is being increased at a fixed amplitude. The evaporation was observed at atmosphere pressure. The droplet was recorded throughout the entire evaporation process and transient variations of the volume was measured. The evaporation process of oscillating droplet with thermofoil has been also observed to investigate analyzing the resonance effect on the thermal characteristics of droplet. It is found that a pendant droplet shows the resonant behaviors at each mode similar to the theoretical analysis. During imposing the acoustic wave, the pendant droplet makes a rotating motion in its longitudinal axis which is a new shape oscillation mode. The evaporation rate of a pendant droplet at resonant frequency is significantly enhanced.

단단 및 2단 압축/흡수 히트펌스시스템의 성능 및 중요인자비교 분석 (Performance and Parameter Comparison between single stage and Two-Stage Compression/Absorption Heat Pump System)

  • The mathematical model for the heat exchangers of absorber and desorber is made in the elementary control volume method and the thermodynamic properties of working fluid. water/ammonia mixture. are calculated by some fundamental subroutines in RefProp 7.0 and flash subroutines made by authors The simulation results show that two-stage cycle has higher COP than single stage if temperature lift is high: the performance of single stage compression cycle can be improved by increase of absorber pressure. but the performance of two-stage compression cycle can not be improved in this way : the compressor discharging temperature of two-stage compression is much lower than that of single stage cycle. which is very important to the safety operation of CA heat pump. Major parameter comparison between the cycles at their optimal configurations is also given.

  • This paper investigates the effects of outdoor pressure fluctuations on natural ventilation through openings of a building envelope. The ventilation airflow rate depends on the magnitude and the period of the pressure fluctuations, the size of the opening compared to the space volume, and the resistance characteristics of the opening. Non-dimensional parameters have been derived, which determine indoor pressure responses due to outdoor pressure fluctuations. The flow regions are categorized into synchronized region, opening resistance region, and transition region depending on the non-dimensional parameters.

  • In this paper, the thermal characteristics of natural convection in a rectangular cavity with nanofluids such as water-based nanofluids containing alumina are theoretically investigated with a new model of the thermal conductivity for nanofluids presented by Jang and Choi and various models for effective viscosity. In addition, based on theoretical results, the effects of various parameters such as the volume fraction, the temperature, and the size of nanoparticles on free convective instability and heat transfer characteristics in a rectangular cavity with nanofluids are suggested.

  • In this paper we report fluid flow characteristics of $AL_2O_3$ nanoparicles suspended in water. Especially, the effects of volume fraction with the range of 0.01% to 0.3% and inner diameter of tubes on the pressure drop and the effective viscosity of $AL_2O_3$ nanoparicles suspended in water are experimentally investigated. Experimental results are compared with analytic solution which can be derived with Einstein model. We confirm whether Einstein model which have been used to determine the effective viscosity of nanofluids is valid or not.
