연속바닥난방시스템에 대한 외기예측제어적용 연구 (Application Study on the Outdoor Air Temperature Prediction Control for Continuous Floor Heating System)

  • For the radiant floor heating system, the possibility of suboptimal prediction control was investigated by computer simulation and experiment. For this study, TRANSYS program was used and an experimental facility consisting of two rooms (3$\times$4.4$\times$2.8m) was built. The facility enabled simultaneous comparison of two different control strategies which implemented in a separate room. Results showed that outdoor air temperature prediction control was superior to the conventional outdoor air temperature compensation control for radiant floor heating system. However, more research for fine prediction of outside air temperature was required in the future.

  • In order to protect the environment from the refrigerant pollution, the $CO_2$ may be regarded as one of the most attractive alternative refrigerants for an automotive air-conditioning system. Control methods for a $CO_2$ system should be different because of $CO_2's$ unique propel-ties as a refrigerant. Especially, the high-side pressure of a $CO_2$ system should be controlled for the effective operation of the system. In this study, dynamic models of a $CO_2$ air-conditioning system were developed by using experimental data. Control algorithms for a high-side pressure control and an indoor air temperature control were developed and analysed by using the dynamic simulation program of a $CO_2$ system.

개별공조시스템을 위한 전기히터의 PID 제어 (A PID Control of Electric Heater for PEM)

  • The work presented here is an implementation of PID control to achieve a required supply air temperature in PEM(Personal environment module). In PEM, the air is heated to the required temperature while it flows through the supply duct, without any mixing chamber. This makes the control of air temperature in PEM difficult. Linear dynamic model of heat transfer in PEM is first obtained. Then P, PD and PID type control systems, to provide the rapid response without overshoot and saturation, are designed and implemented experimentally. Data obtained shows that the control system satisfied the design criteria and works properly in controlling the supply air temperature.

  • Capacities of a tandem-type air-conditioner may be modulated by turning on and off of multiple compressors, and adjusting the position of a electronic expansion valve. In this study, control algorithms for compressors and a electronic expansion valve were developed by using fuzzy logics. The pressure control algorithm was also developed for the safe operation of compressors.   • Control algorithms for the absorption air conditioning system may be developed by suing dynamic models of the system. The simplified effective dynamic models, which can predict the dynamic behaviors of the system, may help the development of effective control algorithms for the system. In this study, a dynamic simulation program for the absorption air conditioning system was developed. Dynamic models for an absorption chiller, a cooling tower, an air handling unit, a boiler, a three way valve, a controller, and a duct were developed and programed. Control algorithms for the absorption chiller, the cooling tower, and the air handling unit were selected, and analyzed to show the effectiveness of dynamic models. From the simulation results, it may be concluded that this simulation program may be effectively used for the development of optimal control algorithms of the absorption air conditioning system.

Wide Air-gap Control for Multi-module Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motors without Magnetic Levitation Windings

  • This paper proposes a wide air-gap control method for the multi-module permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (MM-PMLSM) based on independent vector control. In particular, the MM-PMLSM consists of symmetrical multi-module and multi-phase structures, which are basically three-phase configurations without a neutral point, unlike conventional three-phase machines. In addition, there are no additional magnetic levitation windings to control the normal force of the air-gap between each stator and mover. Hence, in this paper, a dq-axis current control applying a d-q transformation and an independent vector control are proposed for the air-gap control between the two symmetric stators and mover of the MM-PMLSM. The characteristics and control performance of the MM-PMLSM are analyzed under the concept of vector control. As a result, the proposed method is easily implemented without additional windings to control the air-gap and the mover position. The effectiveness of the proposed independent vector control algorithm is verified through experimental results.

  • To keep comfortable indoor condition, the existing air conditioning system is controlled by the ON/OFF temperature controller. The PID control unit is developed to control temperature and humidity simultaneously, and the Air-conditioning control system is transferred from the ON/OFF temperature controller to the PID control unit for experiment. As a result of this experiment, the PID control unit reduced energy consumption compared with the ON/OFF control unit.

  • Satellite Air-defence Warning System receives the aircraft/ballistic track information and air defense control command obtained from Master Control & Reporting Center (MCRC) and Air Missile Defence Cell (AMD Cell) Systems. It consists of terminal and control system to propagate track information and air defense control command control via the military satellite communications. In this paper, there were described track information, air defense control command, the frame structure of modem to transmit a voice information and modulation/demodulator design, network synchronization methods via the satellite network.

  • For the air-fuel ratio control in a fuel injection SI engine, the Jump-Ramp control algorithm has been widely adopted by using the on/off type oxygen sensor. But the Jump-Ramp control method has limitation on treating the frequency and amplitude of the air-fuel ratio oscillation. This study suggests another feedback control logic named modulated fuel feedback control, which has a concept of pre-tuned air-fuel ratio oscillation. In the modulation method, the oxygen sensor output is not treated as on/off signal but as analog signal for feedback. By using the modulation method, the frequency and the amplitude of air-fuel ratio oscillation can be adjustable to some extent for improving the conversion efficiency of the Three-Way Catalyst. The result shows that the performance of the modulation method is better than that Jump-Ramp control method in reducing the amplitude of the air-fuel ratio oscillation as well as in increasing the frequency of the air-fuel ratio oscillation.

An Experimental Study on Two Parameter Control for Radiant Floor Heating System

  • An experimental facility consisting of two 3$\times$4.4$\times$2.8m rooms identical in construction is built. Each room has a control system and storage tank supplying hot water to the radiant floor heating system. The facility enables simultaneous comparison of two different control strategies each implemented in a separate room. The operating performance of three kinds of flow control scheme is tested and compared in this study: (ⅰ) conventional on-off control based on feedback from room air temperature (ⅱ) TPSC(two parameter switching control )(ⅲ) TPOC(two parameter on-off control). Results show that TPSC and TPOC using room air and surface temperature sequentially as feedback signal to control hot water supply is the better temperature regulation scheme than conventional control based on feedback from only room air temperature. They are good candidates for the room with radiant floor heating system under continuous and intermittent heating mode.
