주요 해충에 대한 식물추출물의 살충력 평가 (Evaluation of Insecticidal Efficacy of Plant Extracts Against Major Insect Pests)

  • 친환경농산물 재배농가에서 해충방제용으로 널리 사용하고 있는 천연식물추출물과 목록공시된 친환경유기농자재를 대상으로 점박이응애, 복숭아혹진딧물, 배추좀나방에 대한 살충효과를 검정하였다. 천연식물추출물 중 고삼뿌리추출물(oxymatrine)이 복숭아혹진딧물(72.1%)과 점박이응애(98%)에 대한 살충효과가 가장 높았으며 고삼추출물(matrine)이 배추좀나방에 대한 살충효과가 가장 높았다(97%). 목록공시된 친환경유기농자재 중 담배잎추출물, 고삼추출물, 멀구슬나무추출물 유래 자재를 선발하여 복숭아혹진딧물과 점박이응애에 대한 살충효과를 검정해본 결과(~98%) 높은 살충력을 보여주었다.

황칠, 닥나무, 꾸지뽕 혼합 추출물의 항당뇨 효과 (Antidiabetic Effects of Mixed Extract from Dendropanax morbiferus, Broussonetia kazinoki, and Cudrania tricuspidata)

  • Dengropanax morfiferus (D), Broussonitia kazinoki (B), and Cudriania tricuspidata (E), a widely cultivated species in South Korea, has been used as traditional medicine to treat numerous diseases. In this study, we evaluated the antidiabetic effects in a various signaling mechanisms using mixed extract and major component contents were analyzed by HPLC in the combined extracts from Dengropanax morfiferus, Broussonitia kazinoki, and Cudriania tricuspidata (DBCE). DBCE inhibited ${\alpha}$-glucosidase and ${\alpha}$-amylase activation and showed potent antioxidant effects, which are evaluated using DPPH, ABTS, and SOD assay. Cytokines, which are released by inflammatory cells in pancreatic islets, are involved in the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes mellitus. DBCE showed the protective effects in RINm5F cells against cytokines-induced damage by suppressing inducible nitric oxide (NO) synthase and COX-2 expression and NO production. Insulin resistance is the primary characteristic of type 2 diabetes. Therefore, the regulatory effect of DBCE on glucose uptake and production are investigated in insulin-responsive human HepG2 cells. DBCE stimulated glucose uptake, prevented Glut2 and phosphor-IRS1 downregulation induced by high glucose (HG, 30 mM). Moreover, DBCE pretreatment diminished glucose levels, PEPCK and G6Pase overexpression provoked by HG. These findings suggest that DBCE might be used for diabetes treatment through alpha-glucosidase or alpha-amylase activity regulation, pancreatic beta cell protection, hepatic glucose sensitivity improvement. Cytokines, which are released by inflammatory cells' infiltrations around the pancreatic islets, are involved in the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes mellitus.

곡류 코지를 이용하여 제조한 당화잡곡죽의 품질 특성 (The quality Characteristics of Saccharified Minor Cereal Gruel Prepared with Different Grain Kojis)

  • This study investigated the quality characteristics of saccharified minor cereal gruel prepared with different grain kojis (rice, buckwheat, sorghum, adlay, and Italian millet koji). The moisture, crude protein, crude lipid, and crude ash contents of raw materials showed ranges of 11.12 - 12.85; 5.81-16.24; 0.56 - 4.36, and 0.28 - 1.93%, respectively. The crude protein, crude lipid, and crude ash contents of the samples showed ranges of 1.64 to 2.44; 0.08 to 0.28, and 0.09 to 0.18%, respectively. The pH, L, a, and b values ranged from 6.11- 6.43; 58.72 - 65.96; 2.92 - 5.76, and 7.81- 9.42, respectively. The viscosities of saccharified minor cereal gruel prepared with different grain kojis were significantly (p<0.05) lower than the unsaccharified minor cereal gruel. After the saccharification, the soluble solids, glucose, and maltose content were significantly (p<0.05) increased, with ranges of $9.58-10.61^{\circ}Brix$; 0.64 - 0.90%, and 0.32 - 0.50%, respectively. A sensory evaluation indicated that minor cereal gruels saccharified using sorghum koji and adlay koji were more acceptable than unsaccharified minor cereal gruel. In conclusion, the cereal kojis could be used as a gruel processing method that would increase the sensory properties and nutritional values of gruels.

Quantitative Determination of Ascaridole, Carvacrol and p-Cymene in the Biopesticides Products Derived from Chenopodium ambrosioides L. Extracts by Gas Chromatography

  • BACKGROUND: The commercial biopesticides containing Chenopodium ambrosioides L. extracts which have been registered as one of the ingredients of the commercial biopesticide by the organic agriculture materials, and have been widely used in Republic of Korea. However, the quantitative analysis method of the active substances for the commercial biopesticides containing C. ambrosioides L. extract has not been conducted.METHODS AND RESULTS: To analyze the quantitative analysis of ascaridole, carvacrol, and p-cymene as active substances of C. ambrosioides L. extract, hydrophilic lipophilic balance cartridge was used for solid phase extraction. The active substances were analyzed by the gas chromatography with flame ionization detector. The limit of quantitation values of ascaridole, carvacrol, and p-cymene were 10, 5, and 2 mg/L, and the recovery rates were 96.3, 84.0, and 82.5% in liquid products and 98.3, 99.1, and 97.3% in solid products, respectively. The total content of ascaridole, carvacrol, and p-cymene in the commercial biopesticides was ranged from 0.08 to 12.75%.CONCLUSION: From these results, this method was suitable for the quantitative analysis of the active substances of commercial biopesticides containing C. ambrosioides L. extract.

Fermentative products and bacterial community structure of C4 forage silage in response to epiphytic microbiota from C3 forages

  • Objective: The observation that temperate C3 and tropical C4 forage silages easily produce large amounts of ethanol or acetic acid has puzzled researchers for many years. Hence, this study aimed to assess the effects of epiphytic microbiota from C3 forages (Italian ryegrass and oat) on fermentative products and bacterial community structure in C4 forage (sorghum) silage. Methods: Through microbiota transplantation and γ-ray irradiation sterilization, the irradiated sorghum was treated: i) sterile distilled water (STSG); ii) epiphytic microbiota from sorghum (SGSG); iii) epiphytic microbiota from Italian ryegrass (SGIR); iv) epiphytic microbiota from oat (SGOT). Results: After 60 days, all the treated groups had high lactic acid (>63.0 g/kg dry matter [DM]) contents and low pH values (<3.70), acetic acid (<14.0 g/kg DM) and ammonia nitrogen (<80.0 g/kg total nitrogen) contents. Notably, SGIR (59.8 g/kg DM) and SGOT (77.6 g/kg DM) had significantly (p<0.05) higher ethanol concentrations than SGSG (14.2 g/kg DM) on day 60. After 60 days, Lactobacillus were predominant genus in three treated groups. Higher proportions of Chishuiella (12.9%) and Chryseobacterium (7.33%) were first found in silages. The ethanol contents had a positive correlation (p<0.05) with the abundances of Chishuiella, Acinetobacter, Stenotrophomonas, Chryseobacterium, and Sphingobacterium. Conclusion: The epiphytic bacteria on raw materials played important roles in influencing the silage fermentation products between temperate C3 and tropical C4 forages. The quantity and activity of hetero-fermentative Lactobacillus, Chishuiella, Acinetobacter, Stenotrophomonas, Chryseobacterium, and Sphingobacterium may be the key factors for the higher ethanol contents and DM loss in silages.

막분리 돈분농축액비와 몇가지 친환경농자재의 혼합액이 수경재배에서 상추의 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Concentrated Pig Slurry Separated from Membrane Filter and Several Environment-Friendly Agro-Materials Mixtures on the Growth and Yield of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in Hydroponics)

  • 본 연구는 시설재배에서 관비, 양액재배에 가축액비를 활용하기 위하여 한외여과막(UF) 분리 후 역삼투막 (RO)에서 농축액비를 제조하였다. 농축액비의 양분불균형을 조정하기 위하여 친환경농자재를 첨가하여 액비를 제조하였다. 처리구는 농축액비와 친환경농자재를 혼합하여 시용하는 조합처리를 두었으며 농축액비 단독처리구 (CS), 농축액비의 부족성분인 인산을 보충한 농축액비+골분혼합처리구 (CS+BM), 농축액비에 안산, 질소성분 보충을 위한 골분, 동물성아미노산 혼합처리구 (CS+BM+AA), 농축액바에 인산, 질소, 무기물 성분 보충을 위한 골분, 동물성아미노산, 해초분말 혼합처리구 (CS+BM+AA+SW)와 대조구로 원예연구소 상추 표준양액구 (NS) 등 5개 처리구를 두었다. 상추(Lactuca sativa L.)를 공시하여 수경재배에서 상추의 생육과 수량에 미치는 액비의 영향을 검토하였다. 1. UF/RO 공정을 통하여 SS (Suspended solid)의 수치가 20 이하로 양액 재배시 막힘 문제가 없는 액비의 생산이 가능하였다. UF/RO에서 생산된 농축액의 비료가치는 식물생육에 필요한 질소, 칼리, 황 등 다량의 다량원소와 다양한 미량원소를 함유하고 있어서 비료로서 가치가 있었으나 칼리함량이 상대적으로 높고 질소, 인산 함량이 낮아 농축액비 (CS) 단독처리구는 양분의 불균형을 초래하여 생육이 불량하여 상추수량이 화학양액대비 51%의 저조한 수량을 나타내었다. 2. 농축액비에 골분, 동물성아미노산, 해초분말을 혼합한 시용구는 대조구인 표준양액과 대비 84% 상추수량을 나타내었다. 따라서 농축액비에 골분, 동물성아미노산, 해초분말을 첨가한 혼합용액을 조제하면 화학양액에 비하여 수량감소가 16% 있었으나 유기물에서 유래한 액비로 상추 수경재배에 활용이 가능 할 것으로 판단된다.

농약 혼용에 따른 꿀벌유충 독성의 상승 및 상쇄 영향 (Synergistic and Antagonistic Interactions for Pesticide mixtures to Honeybee Larvae Toxicity)

  • BACKGROUND: Recently, the widespread distribution of pesticides in the hive has been of concern about pesticide exposure on honeybee (Apis mellifera L.) health. Larval toxicity was adapted to assess the synergistic and antagonistic interaction of cumulative mortality to the honeybee larvae of the four most common pesticides detected in pollen. METHODS AND RESULTS: Acetamiprid($3.0{\mu}l/L$), chlorothalonil ($803.0{\mu}l/L$), coumaphos ($128.0{\mu}l/L$), and tau-fluvalinate ($123.0{\mu}l/L$) were tested in combination; binary, ternary and four component mixture. Larvae were exposed to four pesticides mixed in diet at the average levels detected in pollen. As a result, synthetic toxicity was observed in the binary mixture of acetamiprid with coumaphos. The binary and ternary component mixtures of tested pesticides have mostly demonstrated additive effect in larval bees. The significant antagonistic effects were found in four parings of mixtures including chlorothalonil added to acetamiprid/tau-fluvalinate or acetamiprid/coumaphos/tau-fluvalinate, and tau-fluvalinate added to acetamiprid/chlorothalonil or acetamiprid/coumaphos/chlorothalonil. CONCLUSION: Interactions between combinations of four pesticides showed mostly additive or antagonistic effects in larval bees. Therefore, predicting the larval mortality of pesticides mixtures on the basis of the results of single pesticide may actually overestimate the risk. We suggest that pesticide mixture in pollen be evaluated by adding their toxicity together for complete data on interactions.

Positive List System 도입에 따른 열대과일류의 잔류농약 안전성 조사 (A Safety Survey on Pesticide Residues in Tropical Fruits Depending on Implementation of Positive List System)

  • '농약 허용물질목록 관리제도(Positive List System, PLS)'는 당해 농산물에 등록된 농약 잔류허용기준이 없으면 일률기준 0.01 mg/kg을 적용하는 제도이다. 본 연구에서는 경기도 내에서 유통되는 열대과일류의 잔류농약 모니터링을 실시하여 PLS의 실효성을 검토하고, 국내 재배 열대과일의 농약 잔류허용기준 설정에 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 경기도 내 유통되는 열대과일류 120건에 대해 다종농약다성분 분석법에 따라 잔류농약 220종을 검사한 결과 바나나, 망고, 키위 3품목 7건에서 6종의 잔류농약이 검출되었다. 바나나에서 azoxystrobin와 chlorpyrifos, 망고에서 chlorfenapyr, 키위에서 chlorothalonil, iprodione, procymidone이 검출되었다. 그 중 국내산 망고에서 chlorfenapyr, 국내산 키위에서 chlorothalonil이 각각 1건씩 검출되었고 PLS 적용 결과 잔류허용기준을 초과하여 부적합 판정 되었다. 따라서 국내에서 재배되는 열대과일류를 대상으로 농약 잔류허용기준을 설정할 필요가 있다.

농학계열 대학 졸업생의 취업분야를 통해 본 농산업영역 (Agribusiness Areas on the Employment Sector of Graduates of Agricultural Science college)

  • Most studies examining the sub-categories of agro-industry used to access an inter-industry analysis. However, These are some limitations that researchers set sub-categories differently according to their needs. Thus, This study aims to empirically explore the agro-industry sub-categories by area of academic research on agricultural science. The National Standard Science and Technology Classification(NSSTC) codes were used to classify academic research on agricultural science. This codes were examined the sub-categories using Korean input-output statistics industry and product classification by hiring 220 departments of 37 agricultural colleges. Results showed that studies using an inter-industry analysis coincided in terms of agricultural production, but showed differences in forward and backward linkage industries and services. Forward linkages industry were clearly limited to industries in which agricultural products are inputted as raw materials. Then, in terms of services related to agriculture, Previous studies represent fields such as transport and real estate, which are not included. Moreover, Research institutions overlooked by previous studies occupy an important position.

농축산바이오매스의 고온 혐기성 생분해도 평가 (Thermophilic Anaerobic Biodegradability of Agro-industrial Biomasses)

  • Anaerobic biodegradability(AB), which can be determined with the ultimate methane yield by the decomposition of organic materials, is one of the important parameters for the design and the operation of anaerobic digestion plant. In this study, Biochemical Methane Potential(BMP) test has been carried out to evaluate the methane yield of agro-industrial biomasses such as cattle manure, Italian ryegrass(IRG), Oats, Rye and Barley as the forage crops, Rush, the sludges produced from milling and slaughterhouse wastewater treatment plant(SMWTP, SSWTP). In the condition of thermophilic anaerobic digestion, the ultimate methane yield and anaerobic biodegradability of forage crops ranged from 0.367 to $0.452LCH_4$/gVS of methane yield with AB having the range of about 77.0 to 87.3%. On the other hand, that of other substrate showed low figures compared with the forage crops because of low VS content and C/N ratio. Therefore, the forage crops could be used as a good substrate to produce much more the methane in anaerobic digestion.
