질적연구방법을 이용한 지역축제의 참여농가 영향모델 - 청원생명축제를 중심으로 - (An Effects Model of Local Festival on the Participating Local Farms using a Qualitative Research Technique - Focused on the Cheongwon Organic Life Festival -)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate how the Cheongwon Organic Life Festival, a rural festival, affects the farmers of the local farms in Cheongju. Based on grounded theory, this study analyzed the objective using a qualitative research program, the Nvivo11 program. The data was collected through in depth interviews from 13 farmers who participated in the Cheongwon Organic Life Festival, and were also residents of Chungcheungbuk-do. The roles of the local festival expected by farmers, were the sale of local agricultural products, local public relations, regional revitalization, a sense of pride as a farmer, exchange of business ideas for sales of agricultural products, and a line of direct communication between farmers and consumers. The farmers who participated in the Cheongwon Organic Life Festival insisted that sales should rise. The results showed that the farmers who participated in the festival felt socially and psychologically stable while participating. The programs at the Cheongwon Organic Life Festival include a concert, hands on involvement, and agricultural sales, which have a direct influence on both sales and attracting visitors during the local festival. Farmers who participated in the Cheongwon Organic Life Festival asked for the improvement of the overall operation of the festival, including the problems with the admission tickets, parking, arrangement of facilities, festival venue, time, and etc. The suggested improvements for the Cheongwon Organic Life Festival focused on the quality certification system of agricultural products, as well as the organic farming of products, thereby to gain trust from the consumers.

A study on the classification of consumer types based on food safety attitudes: focusing on the Fukushima nuclear accident

  • The purposes of this study were to classify consumer types and to analyze purchase behavior depending on food safety attitudes related to the Fukushima nuclear accident. Based on the consumer survey data, factor analysis and cluster analysis were done to classify consumer types. Applying factor analysis, six factors with a total variance of 73.4% were extracted from 22 basic variables. The 6 factors were termed 'anxiety from ingesting agricultural and fishery products after the nuclear accident', 'importance of food safety when purchasing food', 'reduced rate of purchases of agricultural and fishery products after the accident', 'importance of food prices', 'socio-demographic characteristics' and 'family composition'. Using cluster analysis, consumers were classified into 5 types using the factor scores of 6 factors. The main results are as follows. For every consumer type, the anxiety about imported agricultural and fishery products was higher than that for domestic products after the nuclear accident. The food safety attitudes of consumers were mainly formed by the socio-demographic characteristics. Consumer types with high-education and high-income responded flexibly to the food safety concerning the accident; especially, the consumer type with a high-income and kids under 19 responded very reasonably to the accident. However, consumer types with a low-income and aged over 50 or less than 30 years were the least responsive to the accident, mainly due to financial restrictions. Thus, we suggest some food safety strategies and policy implications based on consumer type for food safety after the accident.

국내 농산물 및 해조류의 가열처리에 따른 식이섬유 함량 비교 (Comparison of Dietary Fiber Content according to Heat Treatment of Korean Agricultural Products and Seaweed)

  • In this study, the dietary fiber content of 33 kinds of agricultural products and seaweeds was compared with that of raw products after heat treatment. To verify the total dietary fiber analysis method, the recovery rate was reviewed by measuring the total dietary fiber content for 4 standard certified substances. As a result, the recovery rate of the analysis value for the true value was 98.8%~103.1%, which was judged to be reliable. The total dietary fiber of vegetables ranged between 0.61~5.36 g/100 g for raw vegetables and 0.55~4.84 g/100 g for heat-treated vegetables. Among the 24 kinds of vegetables used in the analanalysis, the total dietary fiber content of heat-treated Korean radish (3.13 g/100 g) was the highest compared to that of raw radish (0.61 g/100 g). The total dietary fiber of beans was between 13.86~29.69 g/100 g for raw beans and 6.72~18.40 g/100 g for heat-treated beans. In particular, the total dietary fiber content of sword beans was the highest in both raw (29.69 g/100 g) and boiled (18.40 g/100 g) beans. The total dietary fiber content of the three types of seaweed was 1.93~4.85 g/100 g in raw seaweed and 0.99~5.72 g/100 g in heat-treated seaweed.

농산부산물 기반 SOFC 열병합발전 시스템 열교환망 최적화 (Optimization of Heat Exchange Network of SOFC Cogeneration System Based on Agricultural By-products)

  • 본 연구에서는 농업 분야 에너지 자립 시스템 기술도입의 일환으로 농산부산물 기반 SOFC 열병합발전 시스템의 공정 모사 모델을 구축하고 열교환망 최적화를 진행하였다. 0.3 ton/d급 농산부산물 반탄화 연료 가스화기 실험 결과를 기반 농산부산물 SOFC 열병합발전 시스템 모델을 구축하여 4~20 kW급 SOFC 발전 용량별 열교환망 최적화를 진행하였다. 현재 시스템상에서 8 kW급 농산부산물 기반 SOFC 열병합발전 시스템이 최적으로 도출되었으며, 본 연구 결과를 기반으로 추후 상용 설비 설계 시 기초자료로 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Texturometer에 의한 성상별(性狀別) 식품군(食品群)의 Texture 특성(特性) (Textural Characteristics of Various Food Products by Texturometer)

  • 국내에서 널리 이용되고 있는 26종(種)의 식품을 물리적(物理的) 성상(性狀)에 따른 Oldfield 등의 방법으로 분류하고 General Foods사(社)의 Texturometer에 의하여 그들의 특성(特性)을 측정하였다. 그 결과 gel 상(狀) 식품(食品), 불균일(不均一) gel 상(狀) 식품(食品), 지방(脂肪) emulsion 상(狀) 식품(食品), 세포조직상식품(細胞組織狀食品), 섬유상식품(纖維狀食品), 공극고체상(空隙固體狀) 식품(食品)에 따라 측정최적조건, texturometer curve 및 특성치가 다름을 확인하였다. 각 식품(食品)의 texture 특성은 동일한 제품사이에서도 다양성을 보여주고 있었으며 특히 공극고체상(空隙固體狀) 식품(食品)에서 가장 심한 차이를 나타내었다.

민박농가 농특산물 포장디자인 현황분석 및 개선방안 (Improvement by Survey Analysis on the Package Design for Agricultural Products of Farm Stay)

  • Recently the package design for agricultural product of farm stay is great interests for increasing the income of farmers and villages as it may fulfill the sensible needs of consumers who experience rural culture and farm stay. This paper presents the status of the package design for agricultural product of farm stay and proposed improvements to the package design as following; 1)to diversify the packaging capacity, 2)to develop the cultural products to applicate the traditional crafts technique, 3)to provide institutional strategies for presenting the identity of farm or village, 4)to develop the education program about package design. We sampled fifty pilot farms or villages, analyse the package design of them and questionnaire surveyed farmers and managers in order to find problems and suggest improvements.

The effect of Korea's policy to support the purchase of raw materials for export of livestock products

  • The Livestock Raw Material Purchase Fund is a policy to increase the export of livestock products by providing loans to exporters of livestock products (including byproducts). The policy started in 2015 and the annual budget is about 26 billion won. However, a quantitative evaluation of policy effects has not yet been made. Therefore, in this study, the economic surplus of the policy was analyzed using the equilibrium displacement model (EDM). From the results of the welfare analysis, from 2016 to 2019, producer surplus in the chicken and duck market increased by KRW 70.9 billion, while consumer surplus decreased by KRW 70 billion. In other words, the total economic surplus of the chicken and duck market increased by about one billion won during the same period due to the increase in export demand according to the policy. Therefore, the Livestock Raw Material Purchase Fund can be viewed as a policy to maintain and increase export demand for export livestock products and to improve the economic surplus of the livestock product market. Also, since the policy is based on loans, it does not place a burden on the government's finances. Therefore, this policy should continue in the future.

Cobb-Douglas모형(模型)에 의한 자원(資源)의 한계가치생산(限界價値生産)(VMP)추정(推定) (농업노동(農業勞動), 자본(資本) 및 토지(土地)를 중심(中心)으로) (An Estimation of Value of Marginal Products of Resources By Cobb-Douglas Production Function (With Respect to Agricultural Labor, Capital and Land))

  • This study is aimed at identifying the value of marginal products(VMP) of agricultural labor, capital and land. The resources are the major portion of input costs of agricultural projects. To appraise economic feasibility of agricultural projects, the real value of the resources would be estimated by VMP of the inputs rather than by distorted actual market prices such as rural wages, rent and interest. To convert the market wage rate into shadow wage rate, covertion factor of 0.90 would be appicable based on the study results. To evaluate the right of way and compensation, VMP of land is recommendable to apply in land pricing rather than actural land rent prevailing in rural area which has been underrated on account of labor shortage and difficulty of farming. Discount rate as a opportunity cost of capital should be applied 7-8% considering the VMP of capital and interest rate of foreign loan from IBRD and ADB. For the successful appraisal of the agricultural projects, the recommendation of this study would be applied in the future.
