The study focused on setting priority among the future core technologies that were derived by Delphi in agricultural management & information using analytic hierarchy process(AHP). Items for setting priority were decided as ‘technology’, ‘market’, and ‘public concerns’by council. The future core technologies were divided into four parts by importance and R&D level. Technologies which consisted of upper two parts having higher importance were considered in the study. Questionnaires were given to 9 specialists in biosystems engineering. As the results, ‘market’ was decided as a most important item. The most important technologies were ‘Developing technology and system of post harvest processing for higher quality rice’ in group I, and ‘Developing sensor technology to evaluate quality and safety for agricultural products’ in group II.

Various nondestructive technologies for quality inspection of fruits and vegetables were reviewed through published literatures and selected agricultural databases. These technologies were grouped into nine categories, including acoustic response, dielectric response, machine vision, magnetic response, mechanical vibration response, microwave response, optical properties, and other possible sensing technologies. Their principles and characteristics were investigated and these technologies were presented with their current and potential applications. The link of appropriate nondestructive technologies with common principal quality parameters of fruits and vegetables was summarized.
This study analyzes current technologies in personal protective equipment (PPE) and mechanisms that can be used in the agricultural field to provide data for research and development on PPE for farmers. There is growing awareness of the importance of PPE as part of efforts to reduce agricultural accidents, but data remain rare for developing PPE tailored to the farm work environment. In this regard, patent data on PPE can provide useful insights for facilitating relevant technologies and research. This study examines patents and utility models classified under the IPC code in Korea and other countries to analyze patented technologies and recent trends for the period from January 2003 to October 2014. Here Korea, the U.S., Japan, and Europe were considered. The results show that the number of patent applications for PPE remained steady without any sharp fluctuations. KIPO applications accounted for 43.5% of all cases, reflecting the highest proportion among the countries considered. Domestic applicants accounted for 94% of all cases. In Korea, patent applications were concentrated in safety gear for the face and eyes, indicating a high level of technology. The highest level of competition was observed for safety goggles in all countries. Some PPE technologies were dominated by a particular manufacturer. The analysis results for farming-related technologies show the current state of technologies and areas lacking technological development. This study analyzes patented technologies for PPE in Korea and other countries and recent research trends as part of the effort to develop PPE for workers in the farming and livestock industry. This study represents an early-stage effort to develop PPE for workers in the farming and livestock industry, and the results are expected to be useful for tailoring PPE to Korea's farming and livestock environment.

Purpose: This study reviewed the major nondestructive measurement techniques used to assess internal properties of agricultural materials that significantly influence the quality, safety, and value of the products in markets. Methods: Imaging technologies are powerful nondestructive analytical tools that possess specific advantages in revealing the internal properties of products. Results: This review was exploring the application of various imaging techniques, specifically, hyperspectral imaging (HSI), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), soft X-ray, X-ray computed tomography (XRI-CT), thermal imaging (TI), and ultrasound imaging (UI), to investigate the internal properties of agricultural commodities. Conclusions: The basic instruments used in these techniques are discussed in the initial part of the review. In the context of an investigation of the internal properties of agricultural products, including crops, fruits, vegetables, poultry, meat, fish, and seeds, various extant studies are examined to understand the potential of these imaging technologies. Future trends for these imaging techniques are also presented.
The study was focused on setting priority for future core technologies in rural development and resources using AHP. The technologies were derived by Delphi method. Evaluation criteria for the priority setting were decided as 'technology', 'market oriented', and 'public concerns' by council. The future core technologies were divided as four groups by importance and R&D level. Technologies in upper two groups were considered in the study. Group I had high importance and high R&D level. Group II had high importance and lower R&D level. Questionnaires were given to 9 specialists in agricultural resources. As the results, 'public concerns' was decided as a most important evaluation criterion. The most important technologies are "technology developing for animal feces and urine treatment, and restoration it to farm land" in group I, and "technology developing for agricultural by-products as energy source" in group II.

Based on GIS technologies, a decision support system (GIDSS) has been developed to remediate agricultural lands in the Bryansk region (Russia) contaminated by 137Cs after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. GIDSS is a multilevel system consisting of basic, information and computational layers. GIDSS allows justifying a targeted approach for the remediation of agricultural lands belonging to agricultural enterprises for the production that meets the established radiological requirements for the content of radionuclides. Evaluation of the effectiveness of alternative remediation technologies and the selection of optimal measures were carried out at the level of elementary plots using radiological criteria. The introduction of GIDSS will enable agricultural producers in the south-western districts of the Bryansk region to conduct radiation-safe agro-industrial production in radioactively contaminated areas, which will help improve the socio-economic situation of the region and return it to normal living conditions.

Agricultural systems in South Asian countries are dominated by smallholder farmers. Additionally, these farmers have limited access to pre- and post-harvest technologies due to their high initial cost. The lack of these technologies in postharvest handling is responsible for 20% to 44% of fruit and vegetable losses. These high losses are largely the result of a generally weak basic postharvest infrastructure for the preservation of products, which avoids damage from improper handling, transportation, packaging, and storage. High postharvest losses of products negatively affect food availability, food security, and nutrition, as the producer is able to sell less of the farm yield and the net availability of these food commodities for consumption is reduced. An underlying cause of these postharvest losses is the limited awareness and knowledge bases of stakeholders (researchers, farmers, governments, non-governmental organizations, and merchants) in the traditional supply chains in which these losses occur. The analysis presented in this paper explores the state of postharvest practice in South Asian countries and discusses options for low-cost postharvest technologies in the region that can support small-scale farmers and provide a viable pathway for supply to the market, joining with modern value chains and bringing about individual and regional reduction in postharvest losses of fruits and vegetables. The improvement of basic and simple low-cost technologies through precise research efforts has the potential to prevent such huge losses of products, and help meet the ever-increasing demand for food in South Asian countries.
The objective of this study was to develop the export strategic core technologies for IT fusion next generation agricultural machines by the analysis of comprehensive and cooperative systems of industries, universities, and institutes. In order to achieve the objective of this study, an expert panel was formed and operated. The first survey was conducted by the Delphi method. For this the export strategic core technologies were surveyed and analyzed using the questionnaire. Based on the results of the first survey, the second survey was conducted. The questionnaire used for the second survey was designed by results of the first survey. The results of the second survey was analyzed by AHP method. The third survey was conducted based on the second one, and the final results were analyzed and the export strategic core technologies were developed through the expert meeting. The study results showed six export strategic core technologies as the followings : 1) environment-friendly engine technology for high performance 2) high performance/high efficiency power transmission system technology 3) development of measurement system technology for safety of agricultural products 4) field application of sensor networks 5) large size combine development technology for high performance 6) quality evaluation technology for agricultural products.
The study was designed to forecast and derive future core technologies using Delphi method in Korea agriculture. The technologies will make agriculture for core and strategic industry that has high value-added in 21 century. Questions were given to specialists by each technology in order to survey importance, realization time, level of R&D in Korea and foremost country, leading group of R&D, effective policy, etc. for each technology. The target of the survey for Delphi is confined specialists in the area of Bioystems Engineering. 55 core technologies were derived and 31 specialists answered the survey.
