The study attempted to examine the structural model of the effects of health status and retirement aging anxiety on middle-aged workers. The subjects were collected from 263 40-59 year old middle-aged workers who work at three institutions in C and G cities. Results First, the variables affecting aging anxiety were aging preparation and health status, and these variables accounted for 52% of aging anxiety. Second, health status had a significant effect on retirement preparedness, and there was a significant indirect effect on aging anxiety through retirement preparedness. There was a partial control effect due to the difference in the path coefficient between health status and aging anxiety in the multi-group moderating effect of 40~49 and 50~59 years. Therefore, in order to reduce aging anxiety, it is important to find ways to prepare for various retirement, and a systematic management system is necessary.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of aging treatment on the mechanical properties and damping capacity of 12Cr heat resistant steel with ferrite phase. While hardness values in ferrite phase was not changed, that in martensite phase was dramatically dropped in early stage of aging treatment and then gradually decreased with increase of aging time. As aging treatment was carried out, the precipitation was not detected in ferrite phase, while carbides were precipitated in martensite phase. With increasing the aging time, tensile strength eventually decreased while impact toughness increased rapidly in the early stage of aging and then gradually increased. Besides, it was confirmed that damping capacity was not changed in the early stage of aging and then gradually increased with increase of aging time.
Meta-analysis was conducted on 34 studies reported in Korea from February 2007 through March 2017 to systematically integrate factors of aging anxiety of the middle and old aged. The variables related to aging anxiety were divided into 6 groups of variable, and the effect sizes were computed for each variable of their groups. The results are as follows. First, the total effect size showed the middle effect size, and the effect size according to the variable group showed the largest effect size for the negative psychological variable group, followed by the positive psychological variable, the social variable, the physical variable, the familial variable and the demographic variable. Second, the largest effect size of the sub-variables showed psychological well-being and death anxiety. As described above, suggesting that these variables may have a strong influence on aging anxiety among the variables related to aging anxiety because the psychological well-being and death anxiety were shown as the largest effective variables related to aging anxiety.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to confirm the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-aging efficacy of Pyeonggangaeuljihyeol-tang(PGJT) extract. Methods : In order to confirm the anti-inflammatory activity of PGJT extract, the inhibitory effect on NO PGE2 production were evaluated and the expression level of iNOS, COX-2 and IL-6 mRNA were measured through qRT-PCR, Antioxidant activity was evaluated for radical scavenging activity using DPPH and ABTS, anti-aging activity was evaulated for collagenase, elastase, tyrosinase and L-DOPA oxidation inhibitory activity. Results : PGJT extract shows anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the production of NO and PGE2 by reducing the expression level of iNOS, COX-2 and IL-6 mRNA, antioxidant effect by increasing DPPH and ABTS scavenging abillity in a concentration dependent manner. In addition, the anti-aging effect was confirmed by inhibiting collagenase, elastase, tyrosinase production and L-DOPA oxidation. Conclusion : This suggests that PGJT showed an overall excellent anti-inflammatory effect and an inhibitory effect on the activity of antioxidant and anti-aging related enzymes.
Purpose: This study was designed to construct and test a structural equation modeling on specific domain health status and the Selection Optimization Compensation (SOC) strategy affecting successful aging in elderly people. Methods: The model construction was based on the SOC model by Baltes and Baltes. Interviews were done with 201 elderly people aged 65 or older. Interview contents included demographics, functional health status, emotional health status, social health status, SOC strategies, and successful aging. Data were analyzed using SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 7.0. Results: Model fit indices for the modified model were GFI=.93, CFI=.94, and RMSEA=.07. Three out of 7 paths were found to have a significant effect on successful aging in this final model. Functional health status had a direct and positive effect on successful aging. Emotional health status influenced successful aging through SOC strategies. Conclusion: This study suggests that interventions for improving functional health status and for strengthening SOC strategies are critical for successful aging. Continuous development of a variety of successful aging programs using SOC strategy is suggested.

It has become ever harder to design reliable circuits with each nanometer technology node; under normal operation conditions, a transistor device can be affected by various aging effects resulting in performance degradation and eventually design failure. The reliability (aging) effect has traditionally been the area of process engineers. However, in the future, even the smallest of variations can slow down a transistor's switching speed, and an aging device may not perform adequately at a very low voltage. Therefore, circuit designers need to consider these reliability effects in the early stages of design to make sure there are enough margins for circuits to function correctly over their entire lifetime. However, such an approach excessively increases the size and power dissipation of a system. As the impact of reliability, new techniques in designing aging-resilient circuits are necessary to reduce the impact of the aging stresses on performance, power, and yield or to predict the failure of a system. Therefore, in this paper, a novel low power on-chip self-tuning circuit considering the aging effects has been proposed.
Objectives: Aging is an unconscious and gradual process that can lead to changes in biological systems. Induction of oxidative stress and apoptosis, hepatotoxicity and neurotoxicity are involved in the aging process. Regarding the antioxidant property of black seed oil, the aim of this study was to evaluate the anti-aging effect of Nigella sativa (N. sativa) oil on d-galactose-induced aging in mice. Methods: For induction of aging, D-galactose (500 mg/kg, subcoutaneously SC) was administrated to male mice for 42 days. Animals were treated with D-galactose alone or with b lack seed oil (0.1, 0.2, 0.5 mL/kg, intraperitoneally (ip)). Additionally, vitamin E (200 mg/kg) was used as a positive control. At the end of treatment, the malondialdehyde (MDA) and the glutathione (GSH) contents in brain and liver tissues were measured. Also, enzymes in serum, including aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine amino transferase (ALT), were determined. The levels of the proteins Bax, Bcl2, caspase-3 (pro and cleaved) in brain and liver tissues were evaluated. Results: Administration of D-galactose (500 mg/kg, SC) for 42 days increased serum levels of ALT and AST, as well as the MDA content, in brain and liver tissues, but decreased the GSH content. Additionally, the levels of apoptotic proteins, including Bax, procaspase-3 and caspase-3 cleaved, were markedly increased. N. sativa oil (0.1 and 0.2 mL/kg) diminished the levels of the biochemical markers ALT and AST. Administration of black seed oil (0.1, 0.2 and 0.5 mL/kg) reduced lipid peroxidation and at doses 0.1 and 0.2 mL/kg significantly recovered the GSH content. The oil decreased Bax/Bcl2 levels and at 0.1 mL/kg down-regulated the expressions of caspase-3 (pro and cleaved) proteins in brain and liver tissues. Conclusion: Through its antioxidant and anti-apoptosis properties, black seed oil exhibited an anti-aging effect in a model of aging induced with D-galactose.
The average life span is expanded due to the development of modem society, material and cultural life and increasing level of public health. This means that the aging society is rapidly progressing. Geniatric diseases also have increased due to increasing of the aged population. Along with an increase of the aged patient, the anti-aging, prevention of geniatric disease and quality of life is tending high on social concern and medical issues. Many reports showed the evidence to the positive anti-aging effect of Oriental medicine. Qigong therapy, a kind of Oriental medicine, has been used to prevent aging and life prolongation with positive effect for many thousand years. Therefore, qigong practice is popular and common to middle age and old age in China.

The old people's feelings, emotions, and self-evaluative judgements fluctuate overtime. The purpose of this paper is to proof relations among well-being factors in social activity. Major results of this paper was as follows. First, the social activity participated elderly had higher health status, self-esteem, mental-health, and successful aging than the non-participated elderly. Second, self-esteem and mental health were exposed as important variable for all of the two groups to improve the successful aging. Thus, self-esteem and mental health can become significant indicator of self-empowering and psychological resilience. Third, the strongest total causal effect of successful aging was health status in social activity participated elderly, while self-esteem was the greatest total causal effect of it in the non-participated elderly. Health status had higher indirect effect of successful aging than direct effect of it in both of them.
