  • Finding an energy efficient route is one of the very important issues in the wireless sensor networks. The route scheme should consider both of the energy level of sensor nodes and the number of hops at the same time. First of all, this paper proposes an optimum routes finding scheme (ORFS), which could be used in the sensor network routing protocols. The scheme uses an optimum value for the path with the considerations of both the minimum energy level of a path and the number of hops at the same time. After that, this paper proposes a routing protocol based on the ORFS for how it could be used for the multipath directed diffusion with data aggregation (MDD-A), to get the better energy efficiency. The analysis result shows that the proposed routing protocol could lengthen the network life cycle about 18.7% compared to the previous MDD-A related protocols.

  • In order to save the energy in vehicles using renewable energy, it is necessary to reduce the weight of parts with polymer matrix composites. Carbon nanotube (CNT) is the nano-scale reinforcement used to increase the interlaminar strength of fiber reinforced composites or enhance the fracture toughness of polymer. However, since the degree of improvement in mechanical properties varies according to the various experimental conditions such as shape of reinforcement, types of matrix and dispersion of reinforcement, research to find the optimal conditions is essentially needed. In this study, CNT/epoxy composites with different CNT concentration were fabricated under the same conditions, and the optimal CNT content (2 wt%) was found through Mode 1 fracture toughness test. Furthermore, through optical microscopy, it was confirmed that the fracture toughness was rather decreased due to the CNT aggregation when the CNT content exceeded 2 wt%.

  • Wireless sensor network is wieldy use for IoT application. The sensor node consider as physical device in IoT architecture. This all sensor node are operated with battery so the power consumption is very high during the data communication and low during the sensing the environment. Without proper planning of data communication the network might be dead very early so primary objective of the cluster based routing protocol is to enhance the battery life and run the application for longer time. In this paper we have comprehensive of twenty research paper related with clustering based routing protocol. We have taken basic information, network simulation parameters and performance parameters for the comparison. In particular, we have taken clustering manner, node deployment, scalability, data aggregation, power consumption and implementation cost many more points for the comparison of all 20 protocol. Along with basic information we also consider the network simulation parameters like number of nodes, simulation time, simulator name, initial energy and communication range as well energy consumption, throughput, network lifetime, packet delivery ration, jitter and fault tolerance parameters about the performance parameters. Finally we have summarize the technical aspect and few common parameter must be fulfill or consider for the design energy efficient cluster based routing protocol.

  • Nano-sized Sn particles were coated with Ni-P layer using an electroless deposition method and their anodic performance was tested for lithium secondary batteries. Uniform coating layers were obtained, of which the thickness was controlled by varying the $Ni^{2+}$ concentration in the plating bath. It was found that the Ni-P layer plays two important roles in improving the anodic performance of Sn powder electrode. First, it prevents the inter-particle aggregation between Sn particles during the charge/discharge process. Second, it provides an electrical conduction pathway to the Sn particles, which allows an electrode fabrication without an addition of conductive carbon. A pseudo-optimized sample showed a good cyclability and high capacity ($>400mAh\;g^{-1}$) even without conductive carbon loading.

  • In this paper, an adaptive range aggregation spatial index method is proposed for spatial range query in ubiquitous sensor networks. As the ubiquitous sensor networks are the new information-oriented paradigm, many energy efficient spatial range query methods in ubiquitous sensor networks environment are studied vigorously. In sensor networks, users can monitor environment scalar data such as temperature and humidity during user defined time and spatial ranges. In order to execute spatial range query efficiently, rectangle based index methods are proposed, such as SPIX. But they define the return path as the opposite of its query transmit path. However, the sensor nodes in queried ranges are closed to each other, they can't aggregate the sensed value in a queried range because their query transmission paths are different. As a result, the previous methods waste energy unnecessarily to aggregate sensing data out of the queried range. In this paper, an adaptive aggregation index method is proposed that can aggregate values in a user defined range adaptively by using its neighbor information. It is shown that sensor power is saved efficiently by using the proposed method over the performance evaluation.

  • In variety of environments for applications, wireless sensor networks have received increasing attention in the recent few years. But, sensor nodes have many limitations including battery power and communication range. These networks require robust wireless communicant protocols that are energy efficient and provide low latency. In this paper, we propose new protocol as is defined SCP. The key idea of SCP is that only one node which is defined as a Super-Cluster Header sends the combined data to the BS. We evaluated the effectiveness of SCP through experiments which have several parameter violations. Simulation results shows that performance of SCP is through better than other legacy protocol within the framework of energy cost, life time of the sensor network and fair distribution of the energy consumption.

  • As an energy network infrastructure, which is capable of integrating energy related services such as AMR/AMI, Smart Grid, and Smart Water Grid, the Smart Utility Network (SUN) enables a paradigm shift from user-oriented networks to device-oriented networks. The SUN has some similarities to sensor networks in application and network requirements. Therefore it is required to investigate and analyze thoroughly existing related work in advance to design new network protocols for SUN. In this paper we analyze service requirements and design considerations for SUN and then present a design guideline of new network protocols for SUN by investigating existing low power protocols, data aggregation methods, and in-network storages.

  • Crosslinked SPEEK/PVDF membrane were prepared by EB radiation method with various contents of PVDF. The prepared membranes were subjected to a comparative study of proton exchange membranes for fuel cell appreciations. The crosslinked SPEEK/PVDF membranes were characterized by using DMA, DSC and SAXS. The DMA data indicate that the ionic modulus values and cluster $T_g$ decrease with increasing PVDF content. Thus, it was suggested that the number of clustering in the crosslinked membranes can be reduced with increasing PVDF content. The DSC results were shown that the degree of crystalline of the membrane increased with increasing PVDF content. The morphology of the crosslinkied membranes was shown that with increasing PVDF content, the number of crystalline domain of the SPEEK/PVDF membranes increased but ionic aggregation of the membranes decreased. The water uptake behavior, ionic exchange capacity (IEC) and proton conductivity were decreased with increasing PVDF content. The overall findings suggest that the crosslinked membranes offer the possibility for improving the performance of PEMFC, provided that the membranes have thermal and hydration stability.

  • Wireless sensor networks encounter energy saving as a major issue as the sensor nodes having no rechargeable batteries and also the resources are limited. Clustering of sensors play a pivotal role in energy saving of the deployed sensor nodes. However, in the cluster based wireless sensor network, the cluster heads tend to consume more energy for additional functions such as reception of data, aggregation and transmission of the received data to the base station. So, careful selection of cluster head and formation of cluster plays vital role in energy conservation and enhancement of lifetime of the wireless sensor networks. This study proposes a new mutation chemical reaction optimization (MCRO) which is an algorithm based energy efficient clustering protocol termed as MCRO-ECP, for wireless sensor networks. The proposed protocol is extensively developed with effective methods such as potential energy function and molecular structure encoding for cluster head selection and cluster formation. While developing potential functions for energy conservation, the following parameters are taken into account: neighbor node distance, base station distance, ratio of energy, intra-cluster distance, and CH node degree to make the MCRO-ECP protocol to be potential energy conserver. The proposed protocol is studied extensively and tested elaborately on NS2.35 Simulator under various senarios like varying the number of sensor nodes and CHs. A comparative study between the simulation results derived from the proposed MCRO-ECP protocol and the results of the already existing protocol, shows that MCRO-ECP protocol produces significantly better results in energy conservation, increase network life time, packets received by the BS and the convergence rate.

  • Recently, many of researchers have been studied in data processing oriented middleware for wireless sensor networks with the rapid advances on sensor and wireless communication technologies. In a wireless sensor network, a middleware should handle the data loss problem at an intermediate sensor node caused by instantaneous data burstness to support efficient processing and fast delivering of the sensing data. To handle this problem, a simple data discarding or data compressing policy for reducing the total amount of data to be transferred is typically used. But, data discarding policy decreases the correctness of a collected data, in other hand, data compressing policy requires additional processing overhead with the high complexity of the given algorithm. In this paper, it proposes a data-average method for enhancing the efficiency of data aggregation and correctness where the sensed data should be delivered only with the limited computing power and energy resource. With the proposed method, unnecessary data transfer of the overlapped data is eliminated and data correctness is enhanced by using the proposed averaging scheme when an instantaneous data burstness is occurred. Finally, with the TOSSTM simulation results on TinyBB, we show that the correctness of the transferred data is enhanced.
