  • The electron swarm parameters and Energy distribution function have been calculated for electrons motion through CH$_4$ pure gas under the action of uniform electric field for 0.1$\leq$E/N(Td)$\leq$300, at the 300( $^{\circ}$K), using MCS method and Boltzmann transport equation. And then the resulting values of electron drift velocity were compared to experimental data and adjustment made in assumed cross sections until good agreement was obtained. The electron drift velocity is very useful in the fields of study relating to the conductive and dielectric phenomena of gas medium. The electron energy distribution in gas discharge are generally nonmaxwellian , and must be calculated by a numerical solution of the Boltzmann equation which takes in the elastic and inelastic collisions. To analyze the physical phenomena and properties (or electron swarm motion in a gas under the influence of an electric field, the energy distribution function of electrons and the theoretical deriveration of the electron drift velocity are calculated by the Backward Prolongation with respect to the Boltzmann transport equation as a parameter of E/N(Td).

  • In this study, SiC single-crystal ingots were prepared on two seed crystals with different doping level by using the physical vapor transport (PVT) technique; then, SiC crystal wafers sliced from the grown SiC ingot were systematically investigated to find the effect of seed doping level on the doping concentration and crystal quality of the SiC. To exclude extra effects induced by adjustment of the process parameters, we simultaneously grew the SiC crystals on two seed crystals with different level, which were fabricated from previous two SiC crystal ingots.

  • The study aims to develope techniques for generating digital elevation model(DEM) from IRS-1C PAN stereo image data. The bundle adjustment technique was used to determine the satellite exterior orientation parameters as a function of along-track lines. The first degree of polynomial was selected as a function of satellite attitude and position for each scan line. To evaluate the DEM and orthoimage generated, the resulted three dimensional coordinates of the 16 elevation points were computed with the map coordinates. The elevation test showed that root mean square errors of the DEM elevation was about $\pm{16.66m}$ meters.

  • In this paper, an adaptive nonlinear friction compensation scheme for second-order nonlinear mechanical system with a partially known nonlinear dynamic friction is proposed to achieve asymptotic position and velocity tracking in the absence of disturbances and modeling errors. It is also shown that even with disturbances and modeling errors, in contrast to existing other adaptive control schemes, by proper adjustment of design parameters, reduced error bounds on position and velocity tracking can be achieved.

  • This study describes the electron beam lithography pattern fabrication using the proximity effect correction. When electron beam exposes into electron beam resist, the beam tends to spread inside the substance (forward scattering). And the electron beam reflected from substrate spreads again (back scattering). These two effects influence to distribution of the energy and give rise to a proximity effect while a small pattern is generated. In this article, an electron energy distribution is modeled using Gaussian shaped beam distribution and those parameters in the model are computed to solidify the model. The proximity effect is analyzed through simulations and appropriate corrections to reducing the proximity effect are suggested. It is found that the proximate effect can be reduced by adopting schemes of dose adjustment, and the optimal dose is determined through simulations. The proposed corrected proximity effect correction is proved by experiments.

  • The stochastic method is applied to simulate strong ground motions at seismic stations of seven metropolises in South Korea, creating an earthquake scenario based on the causative fault of the 2016 Gyeongju earthquake. Input parameters are established according to what has been revealed so far for the causative fault of the Gyeongju earthquake, while the ratio of differences in response spectra between observed and simulated strong ground motions is assumed to be an adjustment factor. The calculations confirm the applicability and reproducibility of strong ground motion simulations based on the relatively small bias in response spectra between observed and simulated strong ground motions. Based on this result, strong ground motions by a scenario earthquake on the causative fault of the Gyeongju earthquake with moment magnitude 6.5 are simulated, assuming that the ratios of its fault length to width are 2:1, 3:1, and 4:1. The results are similar to those of the empirical Green's function method. Although actual site response factors of seismic stations should be supplemented later, the simulated strong ground motions can be used as input data for developing ground motion prediction equations and input data for calculating the design response spectra of major facilities in South Korea.

  • The once-through steam generator used in the small modular reactor needs to consider the stability of the outlet steam pressure and steam superheat of the secondary circuit to achieve better operating efficiency. For this reason, this paper designs a controllable operation scheme for the steam pressure and superheat of the small reactor once-through steam generator. On this basis, designs a variable universe fuzzy controller, first, design the fuzzy control rules to make the controller adjust the PI controller parameters according to the change of the error; secondly, use the domain adjustment factor to further subdivide the input and output domain of the fuzzy controller according to the change of the error, to improve the system control performance. The simulation results show that the operation scheme proposed in this paper have better system performance than the original scheme of the small reactor system, and controller proposed in this paper have better control performance than traditional PI controller and fuzzy PI controller, what's more, the designed control system also showed better anti-disturbance performance in lifting experiment between 100% and 80% working conditions. Finally, the experimental platform formed by connecting the digital small reactor with Matlab/Simulink through OPC(OLE for Process Control) communication technology also verified the feasibility of the proposed scheme.

  • The aim of this paper is to assess the reliability and accuracy of the PSI standard method, used in many previous works, for the quantification of ND uncertainties in the SPERT-III RIA transient, by quantifying the discrepancy between the actual inserted reactivity and the original static reactivity worth and their associated uncertainties. The assessment has shown that the inherent S3K neutron source renormalization scheme, introduced before starting the transient, alters the original static reactivity worth of the transient CR and reduces the associated uncertainty due to the ND perturbation. In order to overcome these limitations, two additional methods have been developed based on CR adjustment. The comparative study performed between the three methods has showed clearly the high sensitivity of the obtained results to the selected approach and pointed out the importance of using the right procedure in order to simulate correctly the effect of ND uncertainties on the overall parameters in a RIA transient. This study has proven that the approach that allows matching the original static reactivity worth and starting the transient from criticality is the most reliable method since it conservatively preserves the effect of the ND uncertainties on the inserted reactivity during a RIA transient.

  • In this study, we investigated the optimal conditions for 3D structure printing of alternative fats that have the textural properties of lard using beeswax (BW)-based oleogel by a statistical analysis. Products printed with over 15% BW oleogel at 50% and 75% infill level (IL) showed high printing accuracy with the lowest dimensional printing deviation for the designed model. The hardness, cohesion, and adhesion of printed samples were influenced by BW concentration and infill level. For multi-response optimization, fixed target values (hardness, adhesiveness, and cohesiveness) were applied with lard printed at 75% IL. The preparation parameters obtained as a result of multiple reaction prediction were 58.9% IL and 16.0% BW, and printing with this oleogel achieved fixed target values similar to those of lard. In conclusion, our study shows that 3D printing based on the BW oleogel system produces complex internal structures that allow adjustment of the textural properties of the printed samples, and BW oleogels could potentially serve as an excellent replacement for fat.

  • Rainfall forecasting is an important issue that is applied in many areas, such as agriculture, flood warning, and water resources management. In this context, this study proposed a statistical and machine learning-based forecasting model for monthly rainfall. The Bayesian Gaussian process was chosen to optimize the hyperparameters of the Stacked Long Short-term memory (SLSTM) model. The proposed SLSTM model was applied for predicting monthly precipitation of Seoul station, South Korea. Data were retrieved from the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) in the period between 1960 and 2019. Four schemes were examined in this study: (i) prediction with only rainfall; (ii) with deseasonalized rainfall; (iii) with rainfall and minimum temperature; (iv) with deseasonalized rainfall and minimum temperature. The error of predicted rainfall based on the root mean squared error (RMSE), 16-17 mm, is relatively small compared with the average monthly rainfall at Seoul station is 117mm. The results showed scheme (iv) gives the best prediction result. Therefore, this approach is more straightforward than the hydrological and hydraulic models, which request much more input data. The result indicated that a deep learning network could be applied successfully in the hydrology field. Overall, the proposed method is promising, given a good solution for rainfall prediction.
