Objectives : This study investigated the hypothesis that the dentin bond strength of self-etching adhesives (SEAs) may be improved by applying a coat of hydrophobic, neutral adhesive resin in addition to SEA. Method and Materials : The bond strengths of two SEAs - Experimental SEA (EX) and Adper Prompt (AP) - were measured with three bonding protocols. The D/E resin of All-Bond 2 was applied as the hydrophobic, neutral adhesive. Clearfil SE Bond (SE, self-etching primer system) and All-Bond 2 (AB, total etching system) were used as references. The following protocols were used: (1) EX1 (EX 1 coat); (2) EX2 (EX 2 coats); (3) EX+ (EX 1 coat + D/E resin); (4) AP1 (AP 1 coat); (5) AP2 (AP 2 coats); (6) AP+ (AP 1 coat + D/E resin); (7) SE (SE primer + SE bond); (8) SE+ (SE primer + D/E resin); (9) AB (etching + AB primer + D/E resin). Filtek Z250 composite resin was built up and the microtensile bond strength (MTBS) values of the specimens were compared. The fractured surfaces were observed using SEM. Results : When SEA was used as self-etching primer and hydrophobic, neutral adhesive was applied as well, MTBS was significantly higher than that when either one coat or two coats of SEA only were used (p < 0.05). Conclusion : The hydrophobic, neutral adhesive improved the integrity of the bonded interface obtained with SEA.

Objectives: Extensively destroyed teeth are commonly restored with composite resin before cavity preparation for indirect restorations. The longevity of the restoration can be related to the proper bonding of the resin cement to the composite. This study aimed to evaluate the microshear bond strength of two self-adhesive resin cements to composite resin. Material and Methods: Composite discs were subject to one of six different surface pretreatments: none (control), 35% phosphoric acid etching for 30 seconds (PA), application of silane (silane), PA + silane, PA + adhesive, or PA + silane + adhesive (n = 6). A silicone mold containing a cylindrical orifice ($1mm^2$ diameter) was placed over the composite resin. RelyX Unicem (3M ESPE) or BisCem (Bisco Inc.) self-adhesive resin cement was inserted into the orifices and light-cured. Self-adhesive cement cylinders were submitted to shear loading. Data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA and Tukey's test (p < 0.05). Results: Independent of the cement used, the PA + Silane + Adhesive group showed higher microshear bond strength than those of the PA and PA + Silane groups. There was no difference among the other treatments. Unicem presented higher bond strength than BisCem for all experimental conditions. Conclusions: Pretreatments of the composite resin surface might have an effect on the bond strength of self-adhesive resin cements to this substrate.
Taro-UF mixed type resin system was developed for gluing plywoods. The taro adhesive that was activated with sodium hydroxide was mixed with the definite ratios of UF resin adhesive. At the sametime, wheat-UF mixed type resin was also applied with the same method as taro-UF mixed type resin The mixing ratios of taro or wheat adhesive: UF resin were 0:100, 10:90, 20:80, 30:70, 40:60, 50:50, 60:40, 80:20, and 100:0 by weight. In addition, the UF resins extended with wheat powder at the extending ratios of wheat powder UF resin, 10:90, 20:80, 30:70, 40:60, and 50:50 by weight, were also used. The dry and wet shear strengths of the plywoods of 30:70 (taro adhesive : UF resin) mixing ratio were highest. The dry shear strengths of the plywoods manufactured with the UF resin-mixing taro adhesive were higher than those of the plywoods with the UF resin-mixing wheat adhesive at 10:90, 20:80, 30:70, 40:60, 50:50, and 60:40 (taro or wheat adhesive: UF resin) mixing ratios. At all mixing ratios, the wet shear strengths of the plywoods manufactured with the UF resin-mixing taro adhesive were higher than those of the plywoods with the UF resin-mixing wheat adhesive. The dry and wet shear strengths of the plywoods manufactured with the UF resin-mixing wheat adhesive were higher than those of the plywoods with the wheat powder-extending UF resin at the mixmg ratios, 10:90, 20:80, 30:70, and 40:60 (wheat adhesive or wheat powder: UF resin). So, it was found that the plywoods manufactured with the UF resin-mixing taro adhesive and the UF resin mixing wheat adhesive had better shear strength than the plywoods with the wheat powder-extending UF resin. It was because the taro adhesive and wheat adhesive themselves took the bonding properties after being activated with alkali.
Objective: We compared the shear bond strength (SBS) of lingual retainers bonded to bovine enamel with three different resins using direct and indirect methods. Methods: Both ends of pre-fabricated twisted ligature wires were bonded to bovine enamel surfaces using Light-Core, Tetric N-Flow, or Transbond XT. Phosphoric acid-etched enamel surfaces were primed with One-Step prior to bonding with Light-Core or Tetric N-Flow. Transbond XT primer was used prior to bonding with Transbond XT. After 24 hours in water at $37^{\circ}C$, we performed SBS tests on the samples. We also assigned adhesive remnant index (ARI) scores after debonding and predicted the clinical performance of materials and bonding techniques from Weibull analyses. Results: Direct bonding produced significantly higher SBS values than indirect bonding for all materials. The SBS for Light-Core was significantly higher than that for Tetric N-Flow, and there was no significant difference between the direct bonding SBS of Transbond XT and that of Light-Core. Weibull analysis indicated Light-Core performed better than other indirectly bonded resins. Conclusions: When the SBS of a wire retainer is of primary concern, direct bonding methods are superior to indirect bonding methods. Light-Core may perform better than Transbond XT or Tetric N-Flow when bonded indirectly.
This paper reports on an LTCC-based packaging method using Au/Sn eutectic bonding process for RF MEMS applications. The proposed packaging structure was realized by a micromachining technology. An LTCC substrate consists of metal filled vertical via feedthroughs for electrical interconnection and Au/Sn sealing rim for eutectic bonding. The LTCC capping substrate and the glass bottom substrate were aligned and bonded together by a flip-chip bonding technology. From now on, shear strength and He leak rate will be measured then the fabricated package will be compared with the LTCC package using BCB adhesive bonding method which has been researched in our previous work.
Using the 'New material' concept has recently been introduced into the natural characteristics. In the course of such a, Janine M. Benyus has proposed to mimic the characteristics of natural ecosystems to mention the concept of Biomimicry. Process made engineered using technical elements for representing the material properties of Biomimicry such will be acting importantly, This study intends to analyze how new materials applied to 'Biomimicry' characteristics are processed in space. The results were as follows : 1) Processing methods of new materials resulted as 'Forming', 'Surface treatment', 'Bonding', 'Inserting'. These four were divided and analyzed into 'Form', 'System', 'Adaptation'. As a result of this analysis, such significances were shown as 'Forming/Surface treatment/Bonding' in 'Form', 'Bonding' in 'System' and 'Adaptation'. 2) 'Bonding' applied to 'System' of new material can be recycled to be combined with other materials through the existing adhesive material, and present as a solution of 'Sustainable development'. 3) 'Bonding' applied to 'Adaptation' of new material is to impart the ability to react to the environment through the joint, but is characteristic, at this time, using digital and other field technology. It appeared primarily that it can be known to meet the social trends and convergence between fields. Thus, as the finish that are friendly to the environment from the interior design, the results of the study are expected to be utilized in the study of new materials guidelines.

This study investigates the effect of curing method on the bonding strength of aluminum/CFRP composites. The surface of aluminum panel was treated by DC plasma. Lap shear tests and T-peel tests were performed based on the procedure of ASTM 906-94a and ASTMD1876-95, respectively. Test samples were fabricated by using the co-curing method and the secondary curing method. The results showed that the shear strength of test samples made by the co-curing method was 2.5 times greater than that of test samples made by the secondary curing method. The T-peel strength of the co-curing method case was almost 2 times greater than that of the secondary curing method case.

In this study, the purpose finds out the best welding conditions for bonding of electric wire by ultrasonic welding. The material was plastic-insulating low-voltage-cabels for automobiles. The experiment varied the values of welding time and welding pressure and fixed the values of amplitude and energy. With the facts, the best condition for ultrasonic welding to achieve bonding exactly is gained according to the size of the cross-sectional area of the cable, and the adhesive intensity is greatly influenced by the variables of welding time and welding pressure. Also when the welding time and welding time and welding pressure increase as the cross-sectional areas of the cable increase the welding result in gained exactly.

A composite Iso-grid panel is manufactured and tested by compressive load. Vertical stringers and side stringers are joined with skin by secondary bonding using a liquid type adhesive. Bonding fixtures were developed to attach the stringers to skin. A-scan was done for inspection of secondary bonding region. The out of displacement field is visualized by shadow moire system. The strain and vertical displacement are measured by strain gages and L VDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer). A local buckling is occurred at all grid sections. After that, the final failure is occurred. The strain of side stringer is much less than that of vertical stringer and skin. Due to the side stringer, the local buckling is delayed. Therefore the ratio of the first buckling to failure load is greater than that of vertical stringer stiffened panel.
