Tensile and Adhesive Properties of Polymer Cement Mortar with EVA Emulsion, Blast-Furnace Slag and Fly Ash as a Repair Material (보수재료로서 EVA 에멀젼과 고로슬래그 미분말 및 플라이애쉬를 혼입한 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르의 인장·접착특성)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of admixtures as blast-furnace slag(BF) and fly ash(FA) on tensile and adhesive properties of polymer cement mortar(PCM) with EVA emulsion. The test specimens are prepared with five polymer-cement ratio(P/C) and five admixture contents, and tested for tensile strength and adhesion in tension. From the test results, the tensile strength and adhesion in tension could be improved by an appropriate combination of P/C and admixture contents. In particular, the maximum of tensile strength of PCM with P/C 10% and BF content of 10% is 4.70MPa which is about 1.55 times higher than that of plain mortar, and about 1.22 times that of PCM that does not contain any mixture. The ratio of adhesion in tension to tensile strength of PCM with admixtures averaged 55.8%. It is also apparent that admixture contents of 5% or 10% could be proposed for improvement of tensile strength and adhesion in tension of PCM.

  • Electrochemical surface treatment of PAN-based carbon fibers in acidic electrolyte has been studied in increasing the surface functional groups on fiber surfaces for the improvement of fiber-matrix adhesion of the resulting composites. According to the FT-IR and XPS measurements, it reveals that the oxygen functional groups on fibers are largely influence on the composite mechanical behaviors, whereas the nitrogen functional groups are not affected in the system. In this work, a good correlation between surface functionality and mechanical properties is established.

  • This paper presents the improvement of the resonance characteristics of film bulk acoustic-wave resonator (FBAR) devices fabricated on multilayer Bragg reflectors (BRs) based on inserting ultra-thin chromium (Cr) adhesion layers into BRs and post-annealing processes. The measurements show excellent improvement of return loss $(S_{11})$ and Q-factor by the combined use of Cr adhesion layers and thermal treatments particularly for 120 minutes at $200^{\circ}C$.

  • Reliability of PBGA(Plastic Ball Grid Array) package is very weak compared with normal plastic packages. The reliability are the lower resistance to popcorn cracking, which is reduced by moisture absorption in PCB(Printed Circuit Board). This paper adapts plasma treatment process and analyzes their effect. The contents of C and Cl decrease after plasma treatment but O, Ca and N relatively increase. The Plasma treatment to improve the adhesion between EMC(Epoxy Molding Compound) and PCB(solder mask). The degree of improvement was over 100% Max., which is depend on the properties of EMC. Ar+H$_2$as plasma gas show good result. There is a little difference in RF power and treatment time.

  • In this paper, the physical and electrical properties of epoxy composites are investigated at boiling absorption condition to observe the influences of moisture. Also, in order to improve water resistance of matrix resin, IPN method was introduced and the influence was investigated. In order to analyze the basic physical properties of samples, scanning electron microscopy method was utilized, and impulse voltage dielectric strength was measured. As a result, it was verified that, in case of IPN samples, the ratio of moisture absorption was decreased due to the improvement of adhesion strength, and impulse voltage dielectric strength of SN sample was degraded abruptly as boiling time and filler content were increasing, while IPN samples were slowly degraded due to the improvement of adhesion strength.

  • An atmospheric plasma pre-treatment method was applied to PU foam, Leather (Action), Rubber to improve its adhesion using solvent and water soluble type pressure sensitive adhesion in atmospheric plate type reactor. In order to investigate the optimum reaction condition of plasma treatment, type of reaction gas (nitrogen), rate of gas flow (30~100 mL/min), and reaction time (0~30 s) were examined in a plate plasma reactor. The result of the surface modification with respect to the treatment procedure was characterized by using SEM. Due to a de-crease of the contact angle of various materials, the greatest adhesion strength was achieved at optimum condition such as flow rate of 100 mL/min, reaction time of 10 second for an atmospheric plasma treatment of the PU foam, EVA foam, Leather (Action) and Rubber also resulted in the improvement of the adhesion.
