To coordinate the robot manipulator along the desired trajectory, the exact model of the dynamics is required. The added mass and added moment of inertia, buoyancy, drag force, and friction mainly affect the dynamics of the undersea robot manipulator, and they are quite complex and unknown. In this reason. the exact model of the undersea robot manipulator is difficult to obtain. In this paper, instead of having efforts to get the exact model of the robot dynamics, a control-based approach was performed. We modeled the dynamics of the undersea robot manipulator whose parameters are unknown, and then applied a proposed direct adaptive and robust control, which is different from previous studies. The unknown added mass, and added moment of inertia, drag force and friction are estimated by the direct adaptive control scheme, and the drag force which is dominant disturbance is compensated by the robust control. Also, stability of the proposed control scheme is analyzed.
In this paper, an efficient Adaptive quality-of-service (QoS) traffic control scheme with priority scheduling is proposed for the multimedia traffic transmission over wireless access networks. The objective of the proposed adaptive QoS control (AQC) scheme is to realize end-to-end QoS, to be scalable without the excess signaling process, and to adapt dynamically to the network traffic state according to traffic flow characteristics. Here, the reservation scheme can be used over the wireless access network in order to get the per-flow guarantees necessary for implementation of some kinds of multimedia applications. The AQC model is based on both differentiated service model with different lier hop behaviors and priority scheduling one. It consists of several various routers, access points, and bandwidth broker and adopts the IEEE 802.1 le wireless radio technique for wireless access interface. The AQC scheme includes queue management and packet scheduler to transmit class-based packets with different per hop behaviors (PHBs). Simulation results demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed AQC scheme.
In this paper, dynamic modeling and adaptive control problems for a space robot system are discussed. The space robot consist of a robot manipulator mounted on a free-floating base where no attitude control is applied. Using an extended robot model, the entire space robot can be viewed as an under-actuated robot system. Based on nonlinear control theory, the extended space robot model can then be decomposed into two subsystems: one is input-output exactly linearizable, and the other is unlinearizable and represents an internal dynamics. With this decomposition, a normal form-augmentation approach and an augmented state-feedback control are proposed to facilitate the design of adaptive control for the space robot system against parameter uncertainty, unknown dynamics and unmodeled payload in space applications. We demonstrate that under certain conditions, the entire space robot can be represented as a full-actuated robot system to avoid the inclusion of internal dynamics. Based on the dynamic model, we propose an adaptive control scheme using Cartesian space representation and demonstrate its validity and design procedure by a simulation study.

This paper presents a Multiple Target Tracking (MTT) Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system which consists of three parts; a multi-model-based multi-target state estimator, a primary vehicular target determination algorithm, and a single-target adaptive cruise control algorithm. Three motion models, which are validated using simulated and experimental data, are adopted to distinguish large lateral motions from longitudinally excited motions. The improvement in the state estimation performance when using three models is verified in target tracking simulations. However, the performance and safety benefits of a multi-model-based MTT-ACC system is investigated via simulations using real driving radar sensor data. The MTT-ACC system is tested under lane changing situations to examine how much the system performance is improved when multiple models are incorporated. Simulation results show system response that is more realistic and reflective of actual human driving behavior.
An adaptive control scheme has been recognized as an effective approach for a robot manipulator to track a desired trajectory in spite of the presence of nonliearity and parameter uncertainty in robot dynamics model. In this paper, an adaptive control scheme for a robot manipulator is proposed to design robust controller using model reference adaptive control technique and hyperstability theory but it does away with] assumption that the process is characterized by a linear model remaining time invariant during the adaptation process. The performance of controller is demonstrated by the simulation about position and speed control of a six-link manipulator with disturbance and payload variation.
Robot actuators are significantly important with respect to whole control system performance. This paper presents an adaptive control approach for flexible robot actuators with time-varying spring and damping nature. We first represent a perturbed system model with assumption that its information are partially known. Nominal model reference control method is employed for deriving our adaptive control law. We carry out numerical simulation to evaluate the proposed control system and compare simulation results to a well-known control method for demonstrating its effectiveness.
This paper presents the sensorless control method that employs the adaptive back-EMF(Electromotive Force) and current model observer of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM). The estimated back EMF considering a saliency is obtained by using the adaptive control method. The estimated EMF is inputted to the current model observer which is connected in series with adaptive back EMF estimator and is used to estimate the position and speed of the rotor. In order to improve the shortcomings of conventional method using the current error components multiplied in the compensation constant, the modified instantaneous reactive power compensator is applied. The validity of the control system presented is verified by the simulation.
This note presents a an indirect adaptive control scheme for first-order continuous-time systems. The estimated plant model is controllable and then the adaptive scheme is free from singularities. The singularities are avoided through a modification of the estimated plant parameter vector so that its associated Sylvester matrix is guaranteed to be nonsingular. That properties is achieved by ensuring that the absolute value of its determinant does not lie below a positive threshold. A modification scheme based on the achievement of a modified diagonally dominant Sylvester matrix of the parameter estimates is also given as an alternative method. This diagonal dominance is achieved through estimates modification as a way to guarantee the controllability of the modified estimated model when a controllability measure of the ‘a priori’ estimated model fails. In both schemes, the use of a hysteresis switching function for the modification of the estimates is not required to ensure the nonsingularity of the Sylvester matrix of the estimates.
This paper proposes a new adaptive control scheme for flexible-link robots. A model-based nonlinear control scheme is designed based on a V-shape Lyapunov function, and then the nonlinear control i s extended to a model-based adaptive control to cope with parametric uncertainties in the dynamic model. The proposed control guarantees the global exponential or global asymptotic stability of the overall control system with all internal signals bounded. The effectiveness of the proposed control is shown by computer simulation.
