UMA를 위한 유틸리티 기반 MPEG-21 비디오 적응 (Utility-Based Video Adaptation in MPEG-21 for Universal Multimedia Access)

  • 가변의 자원제한(resource constraint) 및 사용자 선호(preference)를 만족하기 위한 비디오 적응(adaptation)은 다양한 사용자 단말과 이종망을 통한 범용적멀티미디어접근(Universal Multimedia Access: UMA)을 위한 주요 요소기술이다. 기존의 많은 비디오 적응 기법이 존재하지만 주어진 자원제한을 만족하는 최적의 적응을 제공하기 위한 체계적인 기법은 제시되지 못하였다. 본 논문에서는 체계적인 최적의 적응을 제공하기 위하여, 적응단위를 정의하는 비디오 엔티티(entity), 주어진 자원제한을 나타내는 리소스(resource), 적용 가능한 적응동작을 규정하는 적응(adaptation), 각 적응결과 비디오 품질(quality)을 나타내는 유틸리티(utility)의 관계를 모형화하는 개념적인 적응 프레임워크를 제시하고자 한다. 본 프레임워크는 다양한 형태의 적응의 문제를 제한된 자원에서 유틸리티를 최대화하는 문제(resource-constrained utility maximization)로 정형화(formulation)할 수 있도록 한다. 본 논문에서는 이 프레임워크를 프레임 제거(frame dropping)과 DCT 계수 제거(coefficient dropping)을 이용한 MPEG-4 압축 비디오의 비트율 적응의 실제적인 예에 적용한다. 또한 상호연동 가능한(interoperable) 형태로 터미널 및 네트워크 QoS(quality of Service)를 제공하기 위한 툴로 MPEG-21 Digital Item Adaptation(DIA)에 채택된 기술자(descriptor)를 제시한다. 이 기술자는 본 프레임워크의 적응-리소스-유틸리티의 관계를 유틸리티 함수(utility function)를 이용하여 기술(description)한다. 실험을 통하여 본 논문의 표준 기술자를 사용하는 적응 프레임워크의 타당성을 보인다.다. 특정시기 가곡향유의 실질은 곧 가곡의 곡 해석방식에 직결될 것이기 때문이다.를 선택하는가 하는 디자이너 측면의 요인이 감성 품질과 밀접함 관련이 있음을 알 수 있었다.멘트들의 재배열이 주된 역할을 하는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 한편 고자장 영역에서는 correlation time 중 $\tau$가 주된 역할을 담당하는데는 $\tau$는 나노 입자의 크기와 연관되어 있으며 고자장에서 입자 크기에 따른 T1 이완율(R1)과 T2 이완율(R2)의 차이는 이러한 입자크기의 차이에 의해 발생하는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 나노입자에 포함된 철 원자수를 변화시키는 경우 철 원자수가 증가 할 수록 R1과 R2가 증가하는 결과를 나타내었다. 한편 온도변화에 따른 T1, T2 자기이완시간의 변화는 정상체온 근처의 제한적인 온도범위내에서 저자장 영역에서의 아주 작은 변화를 제외하고는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나 T1에 비해 T2에서 이러한 변화가 상대적으로 더 작게 나타났다. 결론 : 임상적 다기능성을 나타낼 가능성이 많은 것으로 보고되고 있는 미세 초상자성 산화철 입자의 자기이완에 대한 이론적 모델을 초상자성 나노입자의 물리적 특성에 기초하여 제시하였고 이러한 이론적 모델에 근거한 미세 초상자성 산화철 입자의 자기장의 세기에 따른 자기 이완시간의 변화를 컴퓨터 모의 실험을 통해 조사하였다.다.있는 것으로 보여진다. 따라서 혈압 저하를 목적으로 하는 나트륨 제한식의 실시는 다양한 체내의 생화학적 변화를 고려해서 이루어져야 할 것이며, 앞으로 이에 대한 보다 다각적인 연구가 요구된다.CSU-23 배양배지에서 배양하는 것이 좋다는 결과를 얻었다. and those a having sufficient sleep were found to be subject to less stress. 초산모를 위한 모성역할적응 프로그램의 효과 (Effects of a Maternal Role Adjustment Program on First-time Mothers)

  • Purpose: To investigate the effect of a maternal role adjustment program on first-time mothers. Methods: The research was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. Participants were first-time mothers admitted to two postpartum clinics at women's hospitals. The experimental group had 38 mothers and the control group had 35 mothers. A maternal role adjustment program was applied individually to the experimental group between the 1st and 2nd weeks after childbirth. Assessing Adaptation to Motherhood, Semantic Differential Scale-Myself as Mother, and Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale were used to measure effects of the program. A pre-test was conducted in the 1st week after childbirth while post-tests were conducted in the 4th and 6th weeks. Data were analyzed with $x^2$ test, Fisher's exact test, t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA using SPSS 24.0. Results: Maternal role adjustment (F=6.17, p=.015) and maternal identity (F=6.63, p=.012) were significantly increased in the experimental group compared to those in the control group. However, the difference in postpartum depression (F=1.11, p=.335) was not statistically significant between the two groups. Conclusions: The maternal role adjustment program can be utilized as an effective nursing intervention program to enhance maternal role adjustment and maternal identity for first-time mothers.

확장된 동적 결정 네트워크기반 자가적응형 시스템 (An Extended DDN based Self-Adaptive System)

  • 최근 복잡해진 시스템의 실행 환경에서 발생하는 문제들을 해결하기 위해 자가적응형 시스템의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 그러나 시스템 설계 시점에 구축된 모델과 실행 환경 사이의 불확실성이 시스템을 알 수 없는 상황으로 이끌 수 있기 때문에 이를 다루기 위한 연구가 중요한 이슈로 떠오르고 있다. 본 논문은 불확실한 상황에서 적응 시점을 결정하고 모델에 실시간 환경을 반영하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 적합한 적응 시점을 위해 시스템의 이전 상태들과 현재상태를 비교하여 베이지안 서프라이즈를 계산하고, 설계된 모델에 실시간 환경을 수행된 적응 정책의 결과를 모델에 반영한다. 제안 방법론을 네비게이션 시스템에 적용하여 제안 사항의 유효성을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 어머니의 문화적응 유형, 다문화청소년의 다문화수용성, 국가정체성이 시간의 흐름에 따른 변화 양상과 세 요인 간의 종단적 상호관련성을 검증하고자 자기회귀교차지연모형을 적용하였다. 연구를 위해 MAPS의 자료 중 초등학교 5학년부터 고등학교 2학년까지 추적한 2차-4차-6차-8차년도 시점의 종단자료를 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 어머니의 문화적응 4가지 유형 모두는 시간의 지남에 따라 유의한 종단적 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 어머니의 문화적응 4가지 유형은 다문화청소년의 국가정체성 간의 관계에서 다문화수용성은 종단적 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 다문화청소년이 다문화적 가치를 수용하고 이를 확장해 이중문화스트레스를 극복하고 국가에 대한 소속감과 연대감을 갖는데 다문화수용성을 높이는 교육도 병행되어야 함을 제안하였다.

Evaluation of liquid and powdered forms of polyclonal antibody preparation against Streptococcus bovis and Fusobacterium necrophorum in cattle adapted or not adapted to highly fermentable carbohydrate diets

  • Objective: Feed additives that modify rumen fermentation can be used to prevent metabolic disturbances such as acidosis and optimize beef cattle production. The study evaluated the effects of liquid and powdered forms of polyclonal antibody preparation (PAP) against Streptococcus bovis and Fusobacterium necrophorum on rumen fermentation parameters in ruminally cannulated non-lactating dairy cows that were adapted or unadapted to a high concentrate diet. Methods: A double 3×3 Latin square design was used with three PAP treatments (control, powdered, and liquid PAP) and two adaptation protocols (adapted, unadapted; applied to the square). Adapted animals were transitioned for 2 weeks from an all-forage to an 80% concentrate diet, while unadapted animals were switched abruptly. Results: Interactions between sampling time and adaptation were observed; 12 h after feeding, the adapted group had lower ruminal pH and greater total short chain fatty acid concentrations than the unadapted group, while the opposite was observed after 24 h. Acetate:propionate ratio, molar proportion of butyrate and ammonia nitrogen concentration were generally greater in adapted than unadapted cattle up to 36 h after feeding. Adaptation promoted 3.5 times the number of Entodinium protozoa but copy numbers of Streptococcus bovis and Fibrobacter succinogens genes in rumen fluid were not affected. However, neither liquid nor powdered forms of PAP altered rumen acidosis variables in adapted or unadapted animals. Conclusion: Adaptation of cattle to highly fermentable carbohydrate diets promoted a more stable ruminal environment, but PAP was not effective in this study in which no animal experienced acute or sub-acute rumen acidosis.

  • The circadian system represents a temporal order which is mediated by the mutual coupling of oscillators and by the synchronizing effects of zeitgebers. It is known that well-being of man depends partly on the maintenance of this order, and that repeated or long lasting disturbances to it such as shift work will Cause harmful effects. This study was a quasi-experimental study to test the effect of shift directions for the clinical nurses on the circadian rhythm. Fourteen nurses working at the general units of Y hospital were selected according to the established criteria. Fourteen subjects were assigned to a weekly shift but the directions of shift work were phase delay first and then phase advance or vice versa. Oral temperature, total sleeping time, frequency of sleep-wake cycle, fatigue, mental performance, and physical symptom were measured during these days except holidays. The data collection period was from April 26, 1993 to July 3, 1993. MANOVA and Wilcoxon signed rank test were used for statistical analysis. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Having worked on evening and night shifts in either phase delay or phase advance schedules, temperature rhythms of shift workers were gradually adapted to the new sleep-wake cycles. A complete adaptation to work on the night shift was achieved the sixth day of the night shift in the phase delay schedule compared to the partial adaptation to the work on the night shift in the phase advance schedule. Accordingly, by putting evening shift between day and night shifts, it will be possible for circadian rhythm to adapt easily to the night shift. 2. There were differences in the total sleeping time, frequency of steep-wake cycle, fatigue, and physical symptom except for mental performance between night shift and day, evening shift. This indicates further that shift workers working on the night shift have a hard time adapting to the shift work compared to the other shifts. 3. Evaluating all the acrophases of temperature rhythm either in phase delay or phase ad-vance schedules, it was shown that night to evening shift in the phase ad-vance schedule revealed the smallest phase move. Also phase advance schedule showed poorer adaptation to shift work than phase delay schedule in connection with total sleeping time, frequency of sleep-wake cycle, fatigue, mental performance, and physical symptom. It is suggested, taken together, these findings reflect that phase delay schedule facilitated the degree of adjustment to the shift work compared to the phase advance schedule.

  • We propose a new technique to the design and real-time implementation of an adaptive controller for robotic manipulator based on digital signal processors in this paper. The Texas Instruments DSPs(TMS320C80) chips are used in implementing real-time adaptive control algorithms to provide enhanced motion control performance for dual-arm robotic manipulators. In the proposed scheme, adaptation laws are derived from model reference adaptive control principle based on the improved direct Lyapunov method. The proposed adaptive controller consists of an adaptive feed-forward and feedback controller and time-varying auxiliary controller elements. The proposed control scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation, and suitable for real-time control. Moreover, this scheme does not require any accurate dynamic modeling, nor values of manipulator parameters and payload. Performance of the proposed adaptive controller is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for a dual arm robot consisting of two 4-d.o.f. robots at the joint space and cartesian space.

  • An automated procedure which allows adaptation of spatial and time discretization simultaneously in finite element analysis of linear elastodynamic problems is presented. For dynamic problems having responses dominated by high frequency modes, such as those with impact, explosive, traveling and earthquake loads high gradient stress regions change their locations from time to time. And the time step size may need to vary in order to deal with whole process ranging from transient phase to steady state phase. As the sizes of elements in space vary in different regions, the procedure also permits different time stepping. In such a way, the best performance attainable by the finite element method can be achieved. In this study, we estimate both of the kinetic energy error and stran energy error induced by spatial and time discretization in a consistent manner. Numerical examples are used to demonstrate the performance of the procedure.

To mitigate the effect of the Interferences an AIC and ML decoding joint scheme Is proposed fur a space-time coded DS-CDMA system in which an adaptation process of tile AIC is merged in the Viterbi decoding algorithm. The performance of the proposed receiver is evaluated for the system with two transmit antennas. It is shown that the proposed receiver achieves significant performance improvement over the ML decoding receiver without the AIC
