Objectives : The purpose of this study is to compare the improvement rate in managering patients who had lumbago and pain in loin & feet by herbal-acupunture therapy with conservative treatment. Methods : 40patients who invited from March. 2003 to May. 2004 with lumbago and pain in loin & feet inve, were divided into two classes. A class was managed with conservative treatment(acupuncture, herb med, negative therapy, bed rest and physical therapy) and herbal-acupuncture therapy, the other class was managed with conservative treatment only. Two classes were distributed by sex and age, therapeutic periods, radiolographic results and therapeutic results that checked with VAS(visual analog scale) and ODI(Oswestry disability index). Results : According to VAS and OBI results, A class was managed with conservative treatment and herbal-acupuncture therapy shows the improvement in controling the pain of lumbago etc. comparing with the other class.

By process of treatment for a case which diagnosed as glossopharyngeal neuralgia and admitted from the 4th, August, 2000 to the 1st, September, 2000, the results are as follows. Method & Resuits : This patient was diagnosed as Flaring up of Heart-fire(心火上炎), medicated Gamichengsimyeonja-eum(JiaWeiQingXinLianZi-Yin) and acupunture therapy was taken on proximal acupoints of right throat and parotid and distal acupoints inciuding Yuji(L10, 魚際), Taixi(K6,太谿), Zhaohai(K3, 照海), Hegu(LI4, 合谷) and Taichong(Liv3, 太衝). And negative therapy was taken on some pressure points of Jianzhongshu(SI15, 肩中兪) Jianjing(G21, 肩井) and Futu(LI18, 扶突). As a result, the patient's paroxysmal megalgia was improved. Conclusion : I consider that idiopathic pain diseases including glossopharyngeal neuralgia can improved by Oriental-Western collaborative medical treatment and continuous research must be accumulated subsequently.

Background : In recent years, obese patient have increased, but there were a few clinical report of herb &acupunture of the obesity. Objective : The aim of this study was to report the effect of Kamijowisengchungtang &Acupunture in 66 cases of obese patient. Material and Method : The clinical study were done on 66 cases of obese patients who were treated by Kamijowisengchungtang &Acupunture in Dept. of Oriental Medicine Kunsan Medical Center from February 2000 to May 2000 Result : After treatment, the weight was reducted statistically from $70.14{\pm}10.69kg\;to\;66.26{\pm}10.37kg$. Conclusion : We know that Kamijowisengchungtang &Acupunture Therapy is effective treatment in obese patient.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effect on 5 chronic insomnia patients according to the oriental medical treatment and sleep restriction therapy. These patients were treated with Sa-Am acupunture therapy(瞻正格), Ondam-tang, sleep restriction therapy and evaluated about comfort and improvement after therapy. The result of this research showed that all patients were satisfied with improvement of insomnia subjectively. I considered that chronic insomnia can be improved by oriental medical treatment with sleep restriction therapy and continuous research must be accumulated subsequently.

Objectives : To evaluate the effectiveness of oriental complex therapy with $Dokhwalgisaeng-tang$($Duhuojisheng-tang$) $Gamibang$ on the lumbago patient. Methods : 13 lumbago patients were treated with $Dokhwalgisaeng-tang$($Duhuojisheng-tang$) $Gamibang$, acupunture, moxibustion, pharmacopuncture, cupping, oriental physical therapy and exercise for lumbago. ODI(Oswestry diability index), ROM(range of motion), pain self assessment were checked to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment. Results : ODI, pain self assessment and ROM were all improved but there were no statistical significance except pain self assessment($p$<0.001). Coclusions : Oriental complex therapy with $Dokhwalgisaeng-tang$($Duhuojisheng-tang$) $Gamibang$ might improve low back pain.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is about oriental medicine's treatment and approach method of conversion disorder(jungkijeung) Methods: We observed the treatment effectiveness of herb-med, acupunture, physical therapy about conversion disorder(jungkijeung) Result and Conclusions: We try to present the possibility of the approach method about conversion disorder. 1. We should treat conversion disorder(jungkijeung) distinguished Gi deficiency(氣虛) between vigorous gi(氣寶) 2. The acupunture treatment of conversion disorder(jungkijeung) is efficient about all sorts symptoms and pain 3. Dyscinesia's sequela due to conversion disorder(jungkijeung) is possible to be protracted 4. It is important to prevent sick role, and for this, to use physical therapy is efficient about dyscinesia's patient due to conversion disorder(jungkijeung)

1. Definition : Bee-venom therapy does not involve actual bee-stings: it is a treatment method with acquired bee-venom extract through the electric stimulus on the bee, It is injected subcutaneusly on the acupuncture point after refining, according to the diagnosis of constitution and disease. 2. History : Around 2000 B.C., records that Bee-venom was used for therapy were written in the medical book of Babylonia and Papirus of ancient Egypt. Hippocrates, who is called the father of Medicine, said that Bee-venom is Arcanum, which means mysteric medicine. In Oriental medicine, B.C. 200, there was a clinical record that the meat suspended in front of the bee house on the tree in order to get bee-venom, was attached on the lesion. 3. Mechanism of Action : There are two aspects: 1) The effect of stimulating acupunture point It is similar to the chemical moxa. I think that there are several methods of stimulating the acupuncture point： For example, a simple needle is a mechanical stimulus, Moxa is a heating stimulus and electric and Raser acupunture etc. And another stimulus: in the ancient orient, a chemical stimulus called Chungu(Tianjiu), is attached to the lesions by using grinded insects (ex. Mylaris phalerate PALL.) which have toxin. So Bee venom therapy is similar to this. 2) The effect of biochemical ingredients Bee venom consists of 40 kinds of ingredients. For example, me Iii tin, Apamin, Pospholipase A2, MCD peptide, Adolapin and so on. They have effects which have been proven through experimentation l) tonifying mechanism of the body through increasing hormon secretion 2) tonifying immune system through proliferation of WBC, lymphocytes, macrophage 3) anti-inflammatory reaction Therefore Bee venom therapy is the representative 3rd Medicine, which combined East & West medicine. 4. Application of disease : L.B.P and HIVD, O.A, R.A, degenerative arthritis, shoulder pain and other pain diseases. 5. Therapic methods : According to constitution and disease, proper concentration of bee venom is injected on acupunture point, 2 times a week. Generally one term is consisted of 15times. 6. Contraindication : Heart disease, TBc, DM, kidney disease(nephritis), pregnancy, woman in menstruation 3-4 persons per 100,000 persons may have severe allergic reaction.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effect on a patient with bulimia nervosa-purging type and depression according to the oriental medical treatment and cognitive-behavioral therapy. In this case, a 28 year-old female patient had a binge eating and reward behaviors for 2 years. This patient was treated with acupunture therapy, Soyo-san for 5 months after cognitive-behavioral therapy for 12 sessions(2 times a week). The result of this research showed that bulimia nervosa with depression was improved by our treatment.

Objective : I planned to write this paper to use more Dong-Si acupunture treatment clinically by comparing Dong-Si acupunture with common acupunture for lumbago. Methods : This study was carried out on 56 patients with lumbago who were hospitalized in Dongshin Univ. Oriental Hospital from 1st, April, 2001 to 31st, Octover, 2001. Group A of 28 patients were taken both common acupunture and Dong-Si acupunture. And Group B of 28 patients were only taken common acupunture. And after 10 days of admission, I checked and compared VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) and improvement index out of these two groups. Results : In improvement index, Group A is $0.3932{\pm}0.1073$ and Group B is $0.2793{\pm}0.1080$. So Group A is thought to be significant(P=0.000). In VAS(Visual Analogue Scale), Group A is $6.9286{\pm}1.4889$ and Group B is $5.0000{\pm}1.4142$. So Group A is also thought to be significant(P=0.0000). Conclusion : The group with both Dong-Si acupunture and common acupunture treatment is more effective than the group with common acupunture treatment.

1. Objectives Scarcely referred except for a few phrases of the acupuncture of Dongmugong. He stated every disease could be cured through acupunture. In addition, generally there are a certain point('hyul-穴') of the body that suits according to the constitutions, and just as there are a theory that 'ascend-descend-loosen-tighten(升降緩束)' so as therapy of the symptom has the same. However, he did not indicate the concrete method of the four constitutional acupuncture. He only asked his descendants to study about it. 2. Methods Therefore, author of the thesis tries to describe the theory approach to the seletive method of four constitutional acupunture point based on ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Suse Bowon(東醫壽世保元)${\lrcorner}$ 3. Results and Conclusions The author of the thesis recommended the methods to apply twelve channels to sasangin's disease and symptoms according to the ascend(升)-descend(降)-loosen(緩)-tighten(束)
