PZT를 이용한 초소형 광 픽업 엑츄에이터의 슬라이딩 모드 제어 (Sliding mode control of small form factor optical pick-up actuator using PZT)

  • This paper proposes a swing-arm type dual-stage actuator, which consists of a PZT actuator for fine motion and a VCM(Voice Coil Motor) for coarse motion, for SFF ODD(Small Form Factor Optical Disk Drive), in order to achieve fast access speed and precise track following control. We focus our attention on the design and control of the PZT actuator, because there have been a lot of previous researches related to the VCM and dual-stage actuators. Due to the dual cantilever structure, the PZT actuator can generate precise translational tracking motion at its tip where optical pickup is attached at, and the effect of hysteric behavior of the PZT element is reduced. The dynamic model of the PZT actuator is derived by using the Hamilton's principle, and verified by comparing with the experimental frequency response. The sliding mode control is designed in order to be robust against modeling uncertainties. Simulations and experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the suggested control scheme.

  • Recently, the need for subminiature storage systems has increased with the diversification of portable devices. An actuator for small optical disk drives has to satisfy performance requirements such as higher access speed, lower power consumption, and smaller size. In this paper, we proposed the miniaturized rotary type VCM actuator that had an effective focusing mechanism and secured sufficient bandwidth for small form factor (SFF) optical disk drive (ODD). Initial model was designed by electromagnetic (EM) and structural analyses. Such a model was improved using design of experiments (DOE) procedure based on a Blu-ray disk (BD) 1x specifications.

  • This paper deals with the design method for a small waterproof 4-axis robot arm. An extensive analysis was performed on the torque applied to the robot joint as a result of the payload, as well as the design of the joint actuator capacity. In addition, a study was undertaken on the design of a waterproof joint actuator that works at depths greater than 10 m and the wiring design for a small waterproof connector to avoid obstructing the robot motion. Finally, a finite element method simulation was carried out to analyze the strength of the designed robot arm link, and its stability was verified through a simulation test.

  • HDD가 비동작중 외부충격을 받았을 경우에 대해 수치해석을 이용하여 HSA(head stack ass'y)의 거동과 헤드가 디스크 면에서 멀어지는 Lift-off level을 고찰하고, actuator의 arm blade(primary system)의 끝단에 보조의 구조물(auxiliary system)을 붙여 반사인파의 가속도입력에 의해 발생되는 HSA의 진폭을 감소시키고 내충격성능을 향상시키고자 한다. 보조 구조물의 형태와 재료는 arm blade의 공진과 연계한 공진주파수의 최적화과정에 의해 결정된다. 실제 제품의 취급에서 가장 쉽게 발생할 수 있는 0.5ms의 duration time으로부터 제품의 성능평가 요건인 2ms의 duration time까지의 반사인파의 입력에 대한 응답을 고찰한 결과 보조의 구조물을 가졌을 경우 주 시스템보다 훨씬 높은 충격에서 헤드의 lift-off이 발생되어 전체 시스템의 내충격성능을 향상시킴을 알 수 있다.

  • Topology optimization is an effective scheme to obtain the initial design concept: however, it is hard to apply in case of non-linear or multi-objective problems. In this study, a modified topology optimization method is proposed to generate a structure of a swing arm type actuator satisfying maximum compliance as well. as maximum stiffness using the multi-objective optimization. approach. The multi-objective function is defined to maximize the compliance in the direction of focusing of the actuator and the second eigen-frequency of the structure. The design of experiments are performed and the response surface functions are formulated to construct the multi-objective function. The weighting factors between conflicting functions are determined by the back-error propagation neural network and the solution of multi-objective function is acquired using the genetic algorithm.

  • A new feedback control law design techniqed usign of-off thrusters for the rotational maneuver of a flexible arm is discussed in this study. a two state on-off thruster actuator is taken as a primary actuation device for theis study. The on-off thruster operation is emulated in conjunction with the conventioal minimum-time trackig control law. The actuator input region is divided into two separate parts ; one is constant input and the other is time varying tegion. the new control law has potential applicatioin for the relatively low frequency structure such as large flexible space structure being currently used in various space echnology areas.

  • A study has been carried out on the implementation of IMCA (Linear Moving Voice Coil Actuator) to a flexible robot arm modelled as cantilever beam. Control performances are evaluated by computer simulation and theoretical analysis is validated by experiments. From this study, it is proved that the LMVCA can be applied easily to the control system and suppress vibration effectively.

  • 최근에 들어 로봇과 환경 사이의 상호작용이 다양하게 발생하는 작업에서 가변 강성 액추에이터의 연구가 활발하다. 기존의 다양한 가변 강성 액추에이터가 개발되었지만 크기와 중량 때문에 응용분야를 찾기가 어렵다. 따라서 다양한 분야에 쉽게 이용되기 위해 소형의 가변 강성 액추에이터(miniVSA)를 개발하였다. miniVSA는 모멘트 암 기반의 강성제어 장치와 두 개의 모터로 구성된 구동 장치로 구성된다. 강성제어 장치는 두 캠의 상대 운동을 제어하여 위치와 강성을 동시에 제어할 수 있다. 이를 실험을 통하여 강성 변화를 검증하였다.
