  • Currently, the operation rule of agricultural reservoirs in case of drought events follows the drought forecast warning standard of agricultural water supply. However, it is difficult to preemptively manage drought in individual reservoirs because drought forecasting standards are set according to average reservoir storage ratio such as 70%, 60%, 50%, and 40%. The equal standards based on average water level across the country could not reflect the actual drought situation in the region. In this study, we proposed the improvement of drought operation rule for agricultural reservoirs based on the percentile approach using past water level of each reservoir. The percentile approach is applied to monitor drought conditions and determine drought criteria in the U.S. Drought Monitoring (USDM). We applied the drought operation rule to reservoir storage rate in extreme 2017 spring drought year, the one of the most climatologically driest spring seasons over the 1961-2021 period of record. We counted frequency of each drought criteria which are existing and developed operation rules to compare drought operation rule determining the actual drought conditions during 2016-2017. As a result of comparing the current standard and the percentile standard with SPI6, the percentile standard showed severe-level when SPI6 showed severe drought condition, but the current standard fell short of the results. Results can be used to improve the drought operation criteria of drought events that better reflects the actual drought conditions in agricultural reservoirs.

  • The structure of engine and its interaction are investigated and the construction of mathematical model for the performance evaluation is presented and then simulated. The total system is classified as air-fuel inlet element, intake manifold, combustion, and engine dynamics and their control function are schematically evaluated. Because of the model structure with general engine function and computer simulation of the chosen engine, physical characteristics of the corresponding engine and the engine data of normal operation state are used. According to the study, it is possible to predict the mixture rate by by the difference in the mass of fuel and air into cylinder and to evaluate and trace dynamic characteristic of operation state under various operating condition. The model characteristic under the transient operating condition makes it possible to effectively evaluate the operation of actual engine through the result of simulation.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual conditions of management of the healthy family field practicum and to present suggestions for its improvement. For this purpose, a preliminary investigation, survey, data analysis, interview as secondary source, and final data analysis were processed as research methods. The subjects of this study were the 42 supervisors in the centers which oversee the field practicum experience and the 12 supervisors in the centers which do not oversee the field practicum experience. 3 supervisors were interviewed to inquire about the reformation of field instruction in Healthy Family Support Centers. Analysis was made of the general characteristics of the above-mentioned 54 supervisors, including sex, age, academic background, certificate of qualification, class of position, and length of career related to the healthy family program. The environment of the field practice, such as the numbers of students supervised, time of field practice, practice hours, and so on, was examined in the centers which oversee the field practicum experience. The actual condition of operation investigated was divided into the preparatory stage, the early stage, the midterm stage, and the end stage. Research was conducted on the improvement of the field practicum, including the proper number of students supervised, adequate practice hours, interaction with universities or colleges, obstacles to the field practicum, and of practicum. The possibility and preparation of a further field practicum was conducted for 12 Healthy Family Support Centers, by inquiring about (a) the reasons for not overseeing the field practicum experience and (b) the needs of universities or colleges for a field practicum. The 54 supervisors surveyed suggested a particular need for improvement in human resources, the space of field instruction, system of field practicum, length of practice hours, orientation for students etc. This study investigated the actual conditions and suggested improvements of the field practicum in Healthy Family Support Centers. Therefore, its results should be meaningfully used to develop the Field Practicum for the Healthy Family and to conduct further studies.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest useful resources concerning the plan to prepare for population aging in the future through investigating architectural characters of the 'Kyungrodang' and its operating systems located near the apartment complex and needs of the 'Kyungrodang'. For this purpose, the study includes field research, interviews, a questionnaire, and a survey targeting each of two apartments located in the Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. A survey targeting the elderly in their late 70 to 80 years 60 to 70 years was conducted and the differences regarding program needs of leisure activities for the elderly and revitalization of 'Kyungrodang' were analyzed. The results of the present study provide suggestions for improvement and solutions to the existing problems of standardized 'Kyungrodang'. Furthermore, the present results can be a basic resource for the elaboration of an appropriate management method and a spatial plan that would respond to the increased needs of facilities and programs for the elderly in the apartment complex. Finally, the results of the present study are expected to make a meaningful contribution to making 'Kyungrodang' the space where the elderly can obtain physical and mental support, as well as enjoy social activities, improve their health, and manage their everyday life.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore a characteristic for raising the percentage of employment of the special high-school. And consider the specialization concept appearing on the stage as these means and analysis the actual operation condition. There are various of the major cause factors of the special high-school and these factors were judged on having a negative effect of raising the percentage of employment of the special high-school. Also, the study were suggested various improvement plan for minimizing negative effect of these factors. Based on the findings, the study showed that grasp the situation of the special high-school and improving plan and present the political plan.

  • A turbine control system which has been operated for years in a nuclear power plant was retrofitted with a newly developed digital control system. After completion of the retrofit, turbine valve tests were performed to ensure the integrity of each valve's control function. The sequence of each valve test is composed of a closing process and a reopening process. To minimize megawatt variation which normally occurs during the test sequence, we employed a kind of compensator algorithm in the new digital control system which also have been used in the old system. There were difficulties finding optimal parameter settings for our new compensator algorithm because the power plant didn't allow us to perform necessary tuning procedures while the turbine is on load operation. Therefore an alternative measure for the compensator tuning which is independent of the turbine actual operation had to be implemented. So, a process model for the test was required to overcome this situation. We analyzed the operation data of the test and implemented the process model by use of input and output variable relations. Also we verified the process model by use of another condition's operating data. The result shows that the output of model is similar to the actual operation data.

  • This paper describes an expert system on the cylindrical grinding operations in order to establish the optimum grinding conditions, which satisfy the maximum removal rates, considering the several constraints of grinding power, workpiece burn, chatter vibration and surface roughness. Specialized knowledge of the grinding operations are acquired from the actual operation database. Coefficientis in the experimental equations are obtaines through the fuzzy regression model based on the fuzzy set theory, and are stored in the actual operation database. The developed system is capable of determining the optimum grinding conditions taking into account some problems, and practical examples of implementaion are described.

  • Integrated operation schools were introduced to Korea in 1998 with an operation of eight schools, and their number has now increased to 106 and is still growing. Although various problems have been pointed out in research on integrated operation schools over the past two decades, these have not been reflected today. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to comprehensively summarize the concepts, backgrounds, recent status, types, etc. of the integrated operation school and to present its problems in terms of curriculum, teacher management, student management, operation and management of educational facilities, and law and policy through literature review and to propose measures for improvement. This allowed us to compare the concerns of the integrated operation school with the results of the actual research and organize improvement measures.
