In this paper a decoupled control of a doubly-fed induction machine(DFIM) feed by a matrix converter is presented. It provides a robust regulation of the stator side active and reactive powers by the direct and quadratic components of the stator current vector, presented in a line-voltage-oriented reference frame. In this case, the stator windings are directly connected to the line grid, while the rotor windings are supplied by this later through a matrix converter controlled by a space vector modulation technique. The proposed solution is suitable for both energy generation and electrical drive applications with restricted speed variation range.
In this paper, an approach to reduce the common-mode voltage and to eliminate narrow pulse for implemented AC-DC matrix converters is presented. An improved space vector modulation (SVM) strategy is developed by replacing the zero space vectors with suitable pairs of active ones. Further, while considering the commutation time, the probability of narrow pulse in the conventional and proposed SVM methods are derived and compared. The advantages of the proposed scheme include: a 50% reduction in the peak value of the common-mode voltage; improved input and output performances; a reduction in the switching loss by a reduced number of switching commutations and a simplified implementation via software. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the correctness of the theoretical analysis, as well as the feasibility of the proposed strategy.
An optimized PWM switching strategy for an induction motor voltage control is developed and demonstrated. Space vector modulation in voltage source inverter offers improved DC-bus utilization and reduced commutation losses, and has been therefor recognizedas the perfered PWM method, especially in the case of digital implementation. Three-phase invertor voltage control by space vector modulation consists of switching between the two active and one zero voltage vector by using the proposed optimal PWM algorithm. The prefered switching sequence is defined as a function of the modulation index and period of a carrier wave. The sequence is selected by suing the inverter switching losses and the current ripple as the criteria. For low and medium power application, the experimental results indicate that good dynamic response and reduced harmonic distortion can be achieved by increasing switching frequency.
This paper presents a new space vector modulation (SVM) method for indirect matrix converters (IMCs) to reduce commonmode voltage as well as minimize output current ripple in a high voltage transfer ratio. In the proposed SVM, the three-vector modulation scheme is used in the rectifier stage, while the nonzero state modulation technique, where the three nearest active vectors are selected to synthesize the desired output voltage, is applied to inverter stage to reduce the CMV. The proposed SVM method can significantly reduce the output current ripple and common-mode voltage of the IMC without any extra hardware. Simulated results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed SVM method.
Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze body stability Joint coordination pattern though as bending stiffness of shoes during stance phase of running. Method: 47 male subjects (Age: 26.33 ± 2.11 years, Height: 177.32 ± 4.31 cm, Weight: 65.8 ± 3.87 kg) participated in this study. All subjects tested wearing the same type of running shoes by classifying bending stiffness (A shoes: 3.2~4.1 N, B shoes: 9.25~10.53 N, C shoes: 20.22~21.59 N). They ran 10 m at 3.3 m/s (SD ±3%) speed, and the speed was monitored by installing a speedometer at 3 m intervals between force plate, and the measured data were analyzed five times. During running, ankle joint, MTP joint, coupling angle, inclination angle (anterior-posterior, medial-lateral) was collected and analyzed. Vector coding methods were used to calculate vector angle of 2 joint couples during running: MTP-Ankle joint frontal plane. All analyses were performed with SPSS 21.0 and for repeated measured ANOVA and Post-hoc was Bonferroni. Results: Results indicated that there was an interaction between three shoes and phases for MTP (Metatarsalphalangeal) joint angle (p = .045), the phases in the three shoes showed difference with heel strike~impact peak (p1) (p = .000), impact peak~active peak (p2) (p = .002), from active peak to half the distance to take-off until take-off (p4) (p = .032) except for active peak~from active peak to half the distance to take-off (p3) (p = .155). ML IA (medial-lateral inclination angle) for C shoes was increased than other shoes. The coupling angle of ankle angle and MTP joint showed that there was significantly difference of p2 (p = .005), p4 (p = .045), and the characteristics of C shoes were that single-joint pattern (ankle-phase, MTP-phase) was shown in each phase. Conclusion: In conclusion, by wearing high bending stiffness shoes, their body instability was increased during running.

The differential white blood cell count plays an important role in the diagnosis of different diseases. It is a tedious task to count these classes of cell manually. An automatic counter using computer vision helps to perform this medical test rapidly and accurately. Most commercial-available automatic white blood cell analysis composed mainly 3 steps including segmentation, feature extraction and classification. In this paper we concentrate on the first step in automatic white-blood-cell analysis by proposing a segmentation scheme that utilizes a benefit of active contour. Specifically, the binary image is obtained by thresolding of the input blood smear image. The initial shape of active is then placed roughly inside the white blood cell and allowed to grow to fit the shape of individual white blood cell. The white blood cell is then separated using the extracted contour. The force that drives the active contour is the combination of gradient vector flow force and balloon force. Our purposed technique can handle very promising to separate the remaining red blood cells.

For the quality control of tablets several parameters have to be checked. The most important one is the content of an active ingredient which has to match a narrow range around the designated content. The only useful measurement mode is transmission which provides information of the complete tablet. A measurement in diffuse reflectance would register only the surface which is useless especially in case of a coated tablet. In this work tablets for a clinical study (placebo/verum studies) with very low concentrations of the active ingredient were measured. The concentration range was 0 to 6 mg with a total weight of the tablets of 105 mg, leading to a highest concentration of the active component of 5.7% by weight. Especially the spectroscopic distinction between the placebo and the low dosage forms with 0.25 and 0.5 mg active agent requires an extraordinarily accurate sampling technique. Using the VECTOR 22/N-T in transmission mode allows the collection of the information from the complete tablets. A quantitative PLS-model with transmission spectra from the tablets described above shows that the active substance can be predicted with a RMSECV (root mean square error of cross validation) of 0.04% absolute for this special application. The results are compared with those of measurements in diffuse reflectance using different accessories.
This paper presents a novel three-phase power module bridge type auxiliary resonant AC link snubber for the three-phase voltage-fed sinwave soft switching PWM inverter operating under specific instantaneous space voltage vector modulation. The operating principle of this resonant snubber is described for current source load model during one switching period, along with its design approach based on the simulation data. The performance evaluations of space vector modulation three-phase sinewave soft switching inverter with a new three-phase active auxiliary resonant AC link snubber are discussed as compared with those of three-phase voltage source-fed sinewave hard switching PWM inverter with a standard space voltage vector modulation strategy. The power loss analysis and conventional efficiency estimation of three-phase soft switching PWM inverter using ICBT modules are carried out including all the conduction power losses based upon the measured v-i characteristics of IGBT and its antiparallel diode as well as their switching losses.
